Re: [TMIC] bladder and UTI
Linda, I have the same problem + catherization - no feeling. I pay close attention to odour, colour pressure above the pelvic bone. Any change is my signal to see my dr. Diane in Canada who just got over still another UTI. Linda wrote: I've been reading all the post's concerning UTI and the bladder, etc. My question is.(and this may be a really DUMB one) How do you know if you have UTI if you can not feel, do not feel normal from the waist down? What I mean is, I have feeling, I can walk, but when it comes to FEELING, I do not have it(such as relations with my husband), etcI am almost at my 4 year mark, I was completely paralyzed from the waist down, I have come a long way, but I do have a neurogenic bladder, I am on detrol, and I try to go to the bathroom every 2 hours and I have been told to double void. Would I be able to have the sensations that goes along with UTI, such as burning? I don't think I have this, but sometimes the stream is so little, I know that I am not emptying completely. Re: [TMIC] today's feat
Hi Alton have you considered driving with hand controls.( I have no control with my feet at all.) I do that and I also drove a stick shift using hand controls, now I have advanced to an automatic, makes life a little bit easier. Plus side is that I can still be independant. regards Ann in Ireland where it is wet and windy. - Original Message - From: Alton Ryder To: TM list Sent: Friday, September 29, 2006 1:48 AM Subject: Fwd: [TMIC] today's feat Begin forwarded message: From: Alton Ryder [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: September 28, 2006 8:47:20 PM EDT To: Carol E [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [TMIC] today's feat I can not use my right foot for the brake I lost my kinethetic senses in the right leg. If I pick my foot up off the gas pedal, I have no idea where it will come down. After driving a stick shift since the early '50's we had to trade in our Subaru for the same model with a slush pot. Bummer! For the next 8 years I drove a lot - even with an AFO on the ankle - keeping my heel down and lifting my toe. Braking was with the left foot. Now I'm grounded with two blown shoulders, once again begging for rides. Alton
[TMIC] TM
Last night was the worse of them all. I woke up choking/coughing like my throat was on fire. It wasn't. Plus it felt like I had fire coming from every orifice of my body except my nose, eyes, and ears. I slowly got up. ( By the way I am affected on my right side and on my left side to my knee) Walked around, opened the freezer, thinking this would help, but it didn't. it just took awhile. Plus I had to take a 2 mg Xanax that my daughter had given to me to get the fire out. My doctors at U T Houston act as if this is normal and probably is. But could they at least suggest a medication to help with the anxiety and the firey feeling. My TM doctor gave me Pamelor 50mg to take at bedtime. I can't take it because it keeps me awake all night. He said it would help with the pain in my legs (spasms) and my back. But believe me it doesn't. And take a guess when he wants to see me next? In December, I don't think I can take many more of these nights. I am affected on my right side from T3 down to my feet, and on my left side from my knee down. Lately my left hand and fingers have been going numb too. I contacted Johns Hopkins last month and they set up an appointment, but I couldn't afford to go, so there went that. Any suggestions from anyone before I loose my mind. Vickie
