DEAR FRIENDS, THIS IS VERY HARD FOR ME TO SAY. JUDE HAS HAD TO HAVE EMERGENCY SURGERY. SHE WAS TAKEN FROM THE HOME AND WAS PUT IN THE HOSPITAL. SHE WAS VERY ILL.SHE IS NOW BACK AT A NEW HOME .IT WAS STAFF INFECTION THAT NEVER SHOULD OF HAPPENED.THEY WAITED TO LONG TO TEND TOTHE BED SORES PROPERLY.. NOW SHE WAS TOLD THEY FOUND A BLACK SPOT ON HER BONE.ITS STAFF IN THE BONE. THAT IS NOT GOOD.SHE WAS TOLD ITS NARCISTIC THAT IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. I MIGHT OF SPELLED IT WRONG BUT MOST OF YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS. SHE SEES THE SURGEON ON TUESDAY.SHE IS GETTING UP AND IN HER WHEELCHAIR WITH A SPECIAL LIFT.SHE ASKED ME TO TELL EVERYONE.SHE IS AWARE THAT THIS IS VERY SERIOUS. DAVE IS BESIDE HIMSELF FOR THE FEAR OF LOOSING HER SHE TOLD ME. SHE ASKED THAT WE ALL PRAY FOR HER AND LIGHT A CANDLE IF POSSIBLE. I HAD TO MAKE AN EXCUSE TO GET OFF THE PHONE WITH HER I WAS SO UPSET. I DID NOT WANT TO CRY WITH HER ON THE PHONE WITH ME .I AM DOING WHAT SHE ASKED ME TO. Hi All I Just sat down to my computer to report on my visit to Jude on Thursday when I saw the post from Pam. This was my first time to meet Jude in person and we had a nice visit. I tried to visit Jude about a month ago, but she wasn't feeling well and asked me not to come. I called on Thursday to tell her I was coming to take a book I had told her about and that was when I found out all she has been through in the past month. As Pam said, Jude developed a staph infection in her pressure sore and had been sick with a UTI. She was taken from a nursing to the hospital where at some point a vein in the pressure broke and she lost enough blood that she had to be given three pints of blood after the vein was stitched shut. The antibiotics she was given for the staph infection were so harsh she needed to have a pic line inserted in her chest. Jude asked me to pass this information on to the group. An infectiious disease doctor visited Jude the day of my visit. He did not like the looks of the pressure sore and wondered if the infection had reached the bone. He also didn't like the looks of the surgery of or around the vein that had ruptured. As I said this was my first time to visit Jude and I'm looking forward to going back sometime this week. Jude refused to go back to the first nursing home and was placed in a home withing six miles of me. That is unbelievable since I'm used to driving 15 miles to my Mom's and 45 miles to see my daughter and grandson. Just think, Jude and I are just six miles apart. Jude was in good spirits. She has a youthful face and a sweet smile. Jude looks young for her age - which is one year younger than me! Has been reading for the first time in months. Misses her computer and all of you. I took her the last book I finished 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper (a must read). She said she misses not having her Dad's Bible with her, but didn't want to take it to the nursing home so I'm taking her one of mine from home. We prayed together for her healing and she asked me to get the word out that she is in need of your prayers too. I'm forwarding Jude's mailing address to Alton Ryder and will send it to you if you aske me directly. I won't post it to the open board to protect Jude's privacy. Pam, It is comforting to know that you are close enough to Jude to go and see her. I've had her in my prayers for many weeks now and will continue to pray for her until I can't pray anymore. I was sitting in bed feeling sorry for myself when I decided to get online and see whats going on. It just breaks my heart to hear about how bad she feels. Like Alton I think everyone has adopted Jude to one degree or another. Please let her know that she is in my prayers, I know that that poor girl is teird of this crap but tell her to fight as hard as she can and know that we all love and miss her. I can't wait to hear her back on line again. Her humor and devotion to our people is really missed. I bet she is wanting to write to us, she always has a lot of interesting things to talk about. I can't understand how her pressure sores got so bad, surely her Doctors should have caught this long ago. I know that pressure sores can get bad if they are unattended, but to get this bad so quic! kly jus t doesn't seem right to me. Please give her a hug for me the next time you see her. Everyone please pray for our sweet Jude, I know that I will double up on mine. Everyone please take care of yourselves and if you start to have even the smallest sign of a sore get it taken care of. Thank you for letting us know Pam. Jude has been such an inspiration to all of us here in the TM Family. My candle is lit and I have prayed and prayed for complete healing. I have also asked Patti for Jude's address - maybe we could flood her with cards of love and support and hopefully lift her spirits. It would mean a lot to Dave also.
