Re: [TMIC] Amantadine
*Hi,* *I take 200 mgs of Amantadine per day for fatigue and it's worked like a charm. Plus, I didn't have to wrangle with my insurance to get them to pay for it. Provigil would probably be a different story, insurance wise.* ** *Grace*
[TMIC] Amantadine
Natalie thanks for the information. I did go to the yahoo site and check it out. Also thanks to Sandra and Larry for their information. As I stated earlier I try to read all the posts daily, but more than that my wife has read everyone of the posts for the last 4 years. She said it has helped her understand somewhat of what I go through. Also she reads the post in hope of finding something that my help me. She is always telling me that maybe we should try this or try that because so and so does it or uses it and it has really helped them. She really looks out for me. Sorry I wrote so much. [TMIC] Amantadine
Hey here Happy Campers, I have not posted in a long, long, time but I read the posts daily. After 4 years I am able to walk pretty decent but the pain and fatigue is still killing me. I was reading the post from Cindy K and looked up the medication Amantadine. No where could I find where it is used for fatigue. I take Adderall and Provigil daily. I believe the Adderall helps but I don't think the Provigil is doing much and it is VERY expensive. Does anyone else use Amantadine for fatigue and do you believe it works. If it does I am going to talk with my neurologist about changing to it. I want to thank you guys for all the help you have been over the past 4 year whether you knew it or not..LOL. I have received alot of great information from you guys and alot of supported when I needed and ask for it. I pray each of you have a good night and tomorrow will be even better. Bill in South GA

Re: [TMIC] Amantadine Question Fatigue
After replying to your email, I looked it up and found this statement: Compartive studies between Amantadine and Pemoline (Cylert) have shown Amantadine to be more effective in treating MS fatigue. Other studies between L-Carnitine, essentially a herbal product, and Amantadine in treating fatigue in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) have shown L-Carnitine to be the more effective (Neuropsychobiology, 35:16-23). at www.multi-sclerosis.org/ Sally
