I was told in Medical school that some people only have one BM a week. so four 
a month minimum makes sense.

JANICE - MANY YEARS AGO MY FAVORITE AUNT, WHO HAD MANY MEDICAL PROBLEMS
THROUGH THE YEARS, HAD A TEMPORARY COLOSTOMY FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR.  IT
WAS THEN REVERSED AND EVERYTHING WENT WELL AND SHE LIVED OVER 20 SOME YEARS
WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM WITH IT AND WAS WELL INTO HER 80'S WHEN SHE PASSED AWAY.
KEEP OPTIMISTIC THAT ALL WILL TURN OUT WELL FOR YOU AT SOME POINT.

I'm sorry you had to go through that Janice.

 

A few years ago I had a mother-in-law that had a colostomy.

After she had it for about 5 years they were able to close it,

and she did fine after that until she passed away about 10

years later.

I didn't even know that was possible until she had it done.

There is always hope no matter the situation.

I want to join, I think I qualify. I take diarrhea pills because I am
terrified of getting it. If I do, it's making an appearance, no matter
where or when. So, as a  result, when I go, it's a brick, it even has
the raised letters, like bricks do, you know B  M.  I don't want to
gross you out, but I have to put on a rubber glove  break it up, or it
won't flush down.  Horrible!

Do I qualify?

Barney, we can't get grossed out because most all of us have to go thru some
of the most uncomfortable things due to TM but we make it, don't we??  I
make it thru laughing and making light of things like this!!!  Plus, I made
sure all of my family would do the same thing.  It really helps!!  Laughter

The club almost ALL of us belong to.!
Not one that we wanted to startbut here
we are.  
Ask all of the questions you want honeyand
they sure don't have to be intelligent  questions...
anything you need help with is important..!
Word it any way you want
we're a pretty down to earth bunch.

Just thought I'd let you know that I am different than most of you.During 
my 9 weeks in the hospital, I had a
colostomy.   So my bowel situation is a little different than yours.But, to 
be honest, it is all a pain in the butt!!!

I'm sorry you had to go through that Janice.
 
A few years ago I had a mother-in-law that had a  colostomy.
After she had it for about 5 years they were able to  close it,
and she did fine after that until she passed away about  10
years later.
I didn't even know that was possible until she had it  done.
There is always hope no matter the situation.
