  Hi Lynn, my dear
  friend...

When I first switched to Lyrica it took me about three times
before I was able to make it through the whole regime of titering off of
the Neurontin while getting onto the Lyrica. The pain was bad, real
bad at times and all I could do was to take enough pain pills to knock
myself out and slept for a week or so.

Now, after almost a month, I am glad that I stuck with it
because I feel ever so much better. Most of the banding sensation
that caused the majority of my pain is gone, or so much more relaxed, that
I barely notice it. The burning pain is gone unless I push myself
during rehab. Then it comes back with a vengeance, but only for a
  minute or so.

Now, I am happy to be on Lyrica and know that you will be
too, if you can only find a way to get through the adjustment period of
only a few days. (Although at the time, it feels like it is going to last
  forever!)

Good Luck, keep on trying and know that I am with you in
  heart...
  Peace and Prayers,

  Jude

Mornin' Jude ~
Thank you honey for letting me know your experience with the
Lyrica.
I started keeping a file on Lyrica emails and they are running about 80%
for and 20% against it.. I'm leaning toward trying it my banding has
been so much worse lately. It used to just come and go for a day at a
time.now when it hits it will last sometimes 3 or 4 days. My pet boa
constrictor never used to squeeze me this hard...!

I don't know why you're having trouble getting emails through
to me.
it's probably AOL again..! When they come back to you, just
keepresending themthey should eventually get through to me. I
wish I could get high speed internet access but it isn't available out here in
the "boonies" of Reno beneath the mountains yet. Bill isn't ready to
switch ISP's yetso, for now, I'm stuck with AOL dial-up. Yuck..!

 Love ya, Lynn

Hi Jude ~
Please don't feel badlyI think we all feel "twitchy" at
times and sometimes wish we could take back something we said. I know I
have...!
We all just need to forgive each otherand ourselveson those
days.
I so hope things will improve for you Jude.. you are a good person and
you don't deserve what you are going through right now.

If you are new here..welcome to our family!! You
have come to the right place. Ask anything you like.someone will be
more than happy to answer any of your questions. As Bob Cook said, "Come
on in...the water is fine." Bob, I loved your dinner table analogy...that
was great! :-)
Sometimes when I read your letters to the list I think you missed your
calling.you should have been a writer. Some of your letters are
amazing...!

Sandy.I have a paraplegic friend that went through the
shoulder surgery a while back and he is doing great. Once again he is able
to wheel his wheelchair down his boat ramp and go fishing. Make sure Terry
keeps his shoulder immobilized just like his doc says...that's the really
important part. Bring warm clothes when you visit the Sierraswe have
been getting snow on the mountain tops!

I have a question about pain meds while I'm here. have any
of you regretted switching from Neurontin to Lyrica...? Does the Lyrica
help you with the burning pain...? Every time I try to decrease my
Neurontin the burning pain gets so bad I have to keep on taking it.
Thanks.
 Love to all, Lynn

I feel like I am acting like a big bitch
(sorry if I offended anyone) . How do people find their way onto the
TMIC List? Don't they know where to go to find out how to
  unsubscribe?

I am so tired of emailing people to help them find their way
off of the List! Is anyone else answering these cries for help
besides me? Because if you are, that means that I can ignore
  them.

There can't be too many people out there who are more
computer ignorant than I, but I found out how to unsub when I needed
  to. It wasn't that difficult...

I'm sorry to be so horrendous. It's very late or
early, 3:33 a.m., I'm in a bunch of pain, and my sense of humor is
about done in. I will take all of the chastisement I deserve in the
  morning.

  Love you all ~

Jude,

This is one of the mytsteries of the internet.

I think that people are generally lazy.

They are motivated when searching for us, then unmotivated (satiated) when
leaving.

We used to have an official Un-Greeter, but I believe they either died,
retired, or Un-subscribed.

Re: [TMIC] hELP WITH UNSUBSCRIBING

2006-10-10 Thread ROBERT COOK
I PERSONALLY THINK A LOT OF THE 'NEWBIES TO THE LIST ARE DESPERATELY
SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS IN A FORMAT OR PRESENTATION THEY CAN EASILY ABSORB
WITHOUT INTERACTION ON A PERSONAL BASIS, AND WHEN THEY SEE E-MAIL FROM THE
LIST THAT IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO AN IMMEDIATE INFORMATION SOURCE REGARDING
THEIR REASONS FOR JOINING IN THE FIRST PLACE, THEY GET FRUSTRATED [WHICH,
AS YOU ALL WELL KNOW, IS EASILY DONE IF YOU HAVE TM, DEVICS OR OTHER
RELATED PROBLEMS] AND GIVE UP AND UNSUBSCRIBE.

LIKE I SAID BEFORE, WE ARE LIKE A FAMILY SITTING DOWN FOR DINNER CONVERSING
ABOUT WHATEVER ENTERS OUR MIND, AND NOT NECESSARILY WHAT EFFECTS THE
'FAMILY' AS A WHOLE.

NEWBIES ARE AFRAID TO INITIATE SUBJECTS FOR CONVERSATION, BUT ARE JUST AT
THE TABLE TO LISTEN FIRST AND SEE WHAT IS BEING SERVED UP. IF THEY DO NOT
LIKE THE MENU, THEY LEAVE BEFORE DESERT IS SERVED, OR BETTER YET, THEY WAIT
IN THE FOYER AND LISTEN TO WHAT IS GOING ON [EVES DROPPING] , AND IF THE
MENU DOES NOT SOUND INTERESTING, THEY LEAVE WITHOUT SEEING WHAT IS FOR
DESERT.

SAID SIMPLY, WE POST LOTS OF E-MAIL THAT IS NOT ALL TOGETHER THAT
INFORMATIVE OR INTERESTING TO NEWBIES AND THEY PACK UP AND LEAVE, MANY DO
SO WITHOUT US EVEN KNOWING THEY WERE SUBSCRIBED.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF WE WERE INFORMED WHEN A NEWBIE JOINS, AND THEN THEY
CAN BE SENT A FORM OR 'PAT' E-MAIL INFORMING THEM THEY ARE WELCOME AND TO
BENEFIT FROM THE TMIC, THEY SHOULD INTRODUCE THEMSELVES AND POST THEIR
INQUIRIES FOR RESPONSES, OTHERWISE, THEY WILL BE COMING IN ON A
CONVERSATION OF E-MAILS THAT MAY WELL NOT MAKE SENSE TO THEM, THEY GET
BORED TO A FEELING OF THE LIST NOT BEING WHAT THEY MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT IT
WAS, AND LEAVE, WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A HOWDY-DO.

IF LUBIN CAN'T HAVE THE SYSTEM MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A NEWBIE JOINING FOR
US TO WELCOME THEM TO THE DINNER TABLE AND TO JOIN IN, THEN MAYBE A SHORT
SENTENCE AT THE BOTTOM OF OUR E-MAIL COULD WELCOME NEWBIES AND ASK THEM TO
JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION OR POSE THEIR INQUIRIES AT ANY TIME, KINDA LIKE A
SIGN AT THE DOORWAY SAYING, 'COMMON IN, THE WATER'S FINE' AND JOIN IN' , OR
SOME SUCH.

Hi Bob and All ~
 Excellent letter Bobgreat ideas..!
Thought I should pop in here and let everyone know that I have
been handling the "unsubscribers" for many months now. I write to them off
list as soon as I see their email. There are many reasons why they have
unsubscribed...some of these people are still writing to me off list

the main reasons are 1) Too many emails for me to handle right
now
2) I'm only unsubscribing for a while (many reasons on
this...vacations, etc)...3) I can't subscribe from my work computer any
more..fortunately I have rarely had anyone unsubscribe because of
any of our unsavory dinner table conversations. :-) Many of
these people have subscribed again and are "up in the rafters" just
"listening."

I can totally understand why people just simply send an email
to the list wanting to unsubscribe. It's so much easier than figuring out
where the home page is that they subscribed from in the first place.. and
they just KNOW that someone on the list will help them out. They are
right! :-) That's what we are here for! :-)
So. if you see someone wanting to unsubscribe just delete
the message and know I will take care of them. If the day ever comes that
I can't ...I will email the list and let someone else take over the job.
 Love to all, Lynn

Bob,

Excellent idea.

My second most favorite site dealing with immuno- diseases is Brain Talk at
Harvard Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis. BrainTalk does have a group for T.M.,
they try to welcome people but again it'x just sort of left up to the group.

T,M, and M.S. have many similar symptoms and problems.
