RE: Bug 3888/Class Loader Stopped

2001-10-03 Thread Michael Rimov

I noticed there were comments saying that it's hard to replicate. I get it
pretty regularly, but the trick seems to be that it only occurs for me once
I reload a context. Then pretty much my first servlet request generates
this error.

I couldn't figure out how to add a note to a bug in Bugzilla, so I figured
I would post it here.

New requirement of -Dcatalina.base? [TC4-RC1]

2001-09-10 Thread Michael Rimov

Hello All,

[Super minor quibble]

While migrating to the new catalina, I see that when starting it up from
with my debugger (jbuilder4) that things won't run unless I set
catalina.base. Since the batch files properly set catalina.base =
cataline.home if catalina.base is included, is there any reason why this
can't happen in the code too?

I'm thinking that it will save a batch of posts to the tomcat-users list of
people having the latest tomcat break on them when they're using their
debuggers.

Any thoughts? Again, this is a minor usability quibble, as I like Tomcat 4
very much!

Eitan,

I think you're mis-reading the license agreement. The key difference is
that tools.jar cannot be redistributed, but it does not preclude you using
it on a commercial server. If you're looking to redistribute it, you'll
need to get a special license from SUN. I still haven't heard how to go
about it. :)
