Strictly speaking, you want request.getLocalPort(). However, usually you
want request.getServerPort() instead.

Try it from http://localhost:8080/myApp/myAppServlet

That might work -- your URL-mapping doesn't say to look for
servlet/myAppServlet.

I put the following web.xml file into the webapps/myApp/WEB-INF folder, which didn't have any effect:

It seems as though Tomcat is not seeing my myApp application. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RE: Test servlet won't run - help?

2003-01-16 Thread Turner, John

Do you have a Context defined in server.xml for /myApp? Check server.xml
for /examples to see what one looks like. Or, check the docs for Context,
there is a way to auto-deploy Contexts so you don't have to edit server.xml
directly.

RE: Test servlet won't run - help?

2003-01-16 Thread PELOQUIN,JEFFREY (HP-Boise,ex1)
As a side note.

The reason it may have originally worked in the examples webapp is that the
default servlet mapping is explicitly defined. For all other web apps it is
disabled.

If you place

invoker
/servlet/*

in the web.xml file you should not need to include servlet in every mapping

RE: Test Application with out restart Tomcat

2003-04-03 Thread Tam, Michael
I believe there is an attribute call 'reloadable' for the element
in server.xml. Set it to true for your webapp context and the webapp's
servlets will reload when there are changes to them.

Michael

What needs to be done if don't have to restart the server every time we make
change to the servlet.

2000-11-15 Thread Pierre . Damas

Have you removed the test.war from the Webapps directory ?

Re: /test interferes - how to get rid of it?

2000-11-15 Thread Mike La Budde

It seems you still have the test webapp deployed. Try removing
/usr/local/build/tomcat/webapps/test AND
/usr/local/build/tomcat/webapps/test.war (otherwise it will just keep
coming back)

Thanks for the tip, but I believe it was a cache problem. Gone now.

Re: /test interferes - how to get rid of it?

2000-11-15 Thread Julio Serje (@canada.com)

When you unpack the distribution of Tomcat it comes with several WAR files
(inlcuding test.war admin.war and examples.war). You have to:

- get rid of the WAR files
- remove the corresponding directories
- and of course, remove the contexts from xerver.xml

(I had the same problem, but with an /admin directory)

Julio
