Is autoDeploy and loadOnStartup true in your host setting in server.xml? If yes, a context directory inside the webapps dir gets deployed by the loadOnStartup mechanismn aswell as the context descriptor. This can result in duplicated deployments. Did you check if you have a deployment descriptor .xml file in conf/Catalina/localhost that is duplicated? BTW. You should not define contexts in server.xml. Use the conf/Catalina/localhost directory for deployments. Hi, >Do you not need an explicit declaration for a Context so that can you >define JNDI resources though? Are you saying autoDeploy cannot work if you >have a webapp that uses JNDI resources in a context XML file? You need an explicit declaration if you have JNDI resources, yes. If you have explicit context declarations you might want to turn autoDeploy off, to avoid duplicate deployment. The original poster didn't say anything about JNDI resources, so I'm not sure why you jumped to that. Do you not need an explicit declaration for a Context so that can you define JNDI resources though? Are you saying autoDeploy cannot work if you have a webapp that uses JNDI resources in a context XML file? RE: application deploys twice
Hi, The usual reason for this is a server with autoDeploy on (which is the default) and also an explicit declaration for the Context. RE: application deploys twice
I had the problem too, but in Tomcat 4.1.27 When I removed on of the two application everything was gone. I had to make a new installation of Tomcat, and copied an old version of the webapps dir and server.xml over the new and now its working with on application. I mean that's not the was to solve the problem because it cost me nearly one day. mfg Michael Nitschke -Original Message- From: Jignesh Patel [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, August 20, 2004 11:17 PM To: Tomcat Users List Subject: application deploys twice Hi All, We are using tomcat5.0.19 and struts1.1.
