[tbc-users] Re: bug report (I think) import ontologies

2009-02-06 Thread Tim Harsch
OK... I figured it out, and yes I still believe it a bug.

If you open that dialog and nav down folders looking for a file, when you
get to a leaf folder, click the check box, not the folder name, and then
click OK. This will cause the behavior I described.

What I didn't know I was supposed to do is click the foldername so that the
files would appear in the pane at the right. The simple fix I believe is
when the user clicks the check next to the folder name, make sure the pane
at the right is populated...

[tbc-users] Re: sparql

2009-02-06 Thread Holger Knublauch

Hi Alex,

yes and I would even claim that TopBraid is the best SPARQL tool on
the market right now.

To get started, TBC SE contains a SPARQL View which is visible by
default in the lower half of the screen. Otherwise go to Window > Show
View > SPARQL to open it. This allows you to run any SPARQL query on
the currently open model, including SELECT, CONSTRUCT and ASK queries.

There are tons of advanced features using SPARQL, including SPIN

http://www.topquadrant.com/topbraid/composer/spin.html

and SPARQLMotion

http://www.topquadrant.com/sparqlmotion/

The help included in TBC will help you get started (Help > Help
Contents > TopBraid Composer.

Please don't hesitate to ask here if you have further questions on
details.

Regards,
Holger

[tbc-users] Re: topbraid composer on SUN solaris SPAC

2009-02-06 Thread Holger Knublauch

As TopBraid Composer is based on Eclipse, the main question is whether
Eclipse runs on your platform.

I think it will work:

[tbc-users] Re: bug report (I think) import ontologies

2009-02-06 Thread Holger Knublauch

Hi Tim

I admit this dialog is a bit counter-intuitive and I will check
whether there is a better dialog for such things in Eclipse somewhere.
But it works for me. The dialog shows the files in the right table,
and you need to check the box in front of the file name to select the
files to import.

If it doesn't work, please send a screenshot along.

Thanks,
Holger

[tbc-users] sparql

2009-02-06 Thread alex

I am new to topbraid, just download it. How could I use sparql in top
braid? do I have to do any special configuration in topbraid for
building sparql queries? does it come with the top braid distrubution
that one downloads? also, is there any manual for topbraid? thanks in
advance, cheers.

[tbc-users] bug report (I think) import ontologies

2009-02-06 Thread Tim Harsch
I struggled for a while to figure out how to import an ontology. I found
that dragging from the navigator to the imports view worked after reading
the help. But I had been trying to do it by Clicking on the Import local
file icon in the imports view. This opens a dialog where you can choose
workspace folders, but you can't choose files. If you select one of the
folders, it grabs a file within the folder, seemingly at random and tries to
import that. I've test on 2.6.2 and 3.0beta1

We now have a Sun Blade 2000 Workstation (UltraSPAC) and are thinking
about moving to Sun Solaris 9. I wonder if the Topbraid Composer we
bought can be run in this system?
