The URL you posted does not play in VLC for me. What is the URL of stations Website which has the 3 options ? Yes, the station is KCPR, and I've played it so far only with QuickTime. Am not familiar with VLC. Where I have a pc around, I'm alright with the QT stream, but in my listening room, audio is fed by SBT using the stream URL's set on the website (Favorites). Can VLC help? Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Stream won't play: rtsp://129.65.35.106:8000/stream.sdp
VLC is a generic media tools which can be used with a plugin for SBS to transcode unsupported streams but SBS would need ot be runniung all the time to play this stream. What OS do you use on your PC ? P.S. As per the website, their two streaming modes are mp4 and aac. No their stream format is AAC over MP4 (and I think it is really Apple's version of RTSP not standard RTSP) - so the station only has one format. SBS supports AAC over ADTS which is the more normal and use by many stations. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85835 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Numptie Appeal for Help Please
No, your laptop is connected to _A_ network on your router, you have two networks 169 192. All of the IP #'s must be the same except for the last three digits to be on the same network. Why do you want your computer (or any network device) to be connected by both wired and wireless simultaneously? This only adds complexity to what should be a very simple network. Is this Network Magic program actually managing your network? i.e. Handles IP assignment etc..? Or is it just a program to observe network traffic devices? -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85697 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

DaveKen;612987 Wrote: Hi Phil, Thanks for your input. Please see my responses in CAPITALS below: - Thanks again for your input, Dave. Dave - I think you are still a bit confused about networking :-) 1). Your Vaio may well be connected to the INTERNET(which is nothing to do with your NETWORK) but it does not have a correct IP address - it is not on the same subnet as your other machines. It needs to have an IP address of 192.168.0.xxx, the same as your XP PC's. This is vital. 2) If you have parallel connections between a PC (the laptop in this case) and the router, one wi-fi and another ethernet, the PC does not have a unique identity on your network. This CAN create all manner of confusion down the line. Normally you would connect a laptop via wi-fi. If you plug in an ethernet cable, you should disconnect the wi-fi connection. Anyway, the first thing is to get your vaio configured properly. Since it is connected via ethernet to your router, this should be easy. The 169 address occurs because DHCP (on the router) has failed to give out a valid 192 address for this machine or MORE LIKELY the Vaio has failed to collect the 192 address from the router for some reason. You need to tell the Vaio to get its IP address and other settings from the Router. Is this a common fault or is it something I am doing wrong. Another thing some of the artist names are the same on the hard drive but when I search more than 1 varient is seen ie- AC DC and ACDC without the gap. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Instructions for connecting USB DAC to Touch
Try using aplay -D plughw:1,0 name.wav and see what happens. That should work for almost anything. When playing wav files with linux commands I would stay from file names with embedded spaces. When I'm doing this sort of thing I put some files on an SD card, plug that in before boot. That way you can use your normal cd ripped etc files. They show up as: /media/mmc../files I don't remember exactly what the mmc name is, its mmc followed by some other characters. I can't understand why plug wouldn't work, it should handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Numptie Appeal for Help Please
Hi guys, With thanks to you all but particularly Phil I followed the link on how to get the Vaio onto my main network and give it a fixed IP Adress. It was still a bit reluctant to cooperate at first but shutting down and restarting the PC seemed to get it back on track after a slight delay and it's performed well all evening, no dropouts. I must have a slightly different version of Win7 to what you referenced but I found my way in there and made the changes. After the reboot I went back in and was able to confirm that the new, fixed, IP Addres was still in place so it would appear that that problem is behind us now. Is there anything else that any of you would recommend that I should sort out whilst I am at it? BTW are you aware that Mr. Gates has released win7 Service Pack 1 today? I plan to update later this evening - any comments? Cheers, Dave. -- DaveKen DaveKen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85697 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] new user favorites question
Hi. Yes, I'm connected. When I log in to mysqueezebox.com with my laptop and click the player tab, my SB touch is there and it is connected. I can even use the browsers remote control to start my favorite radio channels :) /Ola -- OlaA OlaA's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44338 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80643 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] new user favorites question
Two things I'd check: 1. Are you running the Touch's internal server? If so, it may be adding them on the Touch and not MySB.com 2. When you go into Favorites on Touch it does not give you an option of on MySqueezeBox.com to choose from? Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Instructions for connecting USB DAC to Touch
This is why I want you to try plug first. It obviously does not like 16 bit interface, its probably 24 bit. The plug interface SHOULD take care of that, use -D plughw:1,0 instead of hw:1,0. If that works (it should) then we can try different formats from aplay using the hw:1,0 instead of the plug. To try different formats do this: aplay -D hw:1,0 -f S24_LE -c2 -r44100 name.wav There are several different formats to try: S24_LE S24_3LE S32_LE Hopefully one of these will work.
