Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] New member - WMA-problem
Peet;613463 Wrote: Hey Of all the answers this can cause the problem: I use a Synology NAS. My Computer has W7. The problem is only with WMA. do you run the SqueezeboxServer on the NAS? I recall that if you run SbS on a non windows machine, it doesn't automatically have the stuff it needs to play WMA files (windows machines automatically have the needed programs). There are ways to fix this (I recall you need mplayer). Search the forum for WMA mplayer. See this thread for example. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82989highlight=wma+mplayer Test this by installing SbS on your win7 machine and copying the WMA files over there. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] New member - WMA-problem
Touch has same WMA decoder capabilities built in that will be supplied by mplayer so it is unlikely to provide a proper solution unless the user has disabled native WMA playing on the Touch. The only other possibility is WMAL which would require the user to get a hold of the right Windows DLL and put it on their NAS but that would require an x86 based NAS with the right Llinux/glibc setup. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85845 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Further Dim Display on 'When Off' Screensaver
JohnSwenson;613458 Wrote: There is an automatic brightness mode that senses the light level in the room and dims the display when it gets dark. You can adjust the minimum brightness level (the brightness it goes down to when the room is completely dark). If you want the clock to be very dim during the night, set the mode to automatic and the minimum brightness to very low. John S. John, while your statement is both correct and informative it does not address the OP's problem. Once the automatic brightness level is set, that brightness level doesn't change when the Touch is being used. What the OP would like is for the screen to return get brighter when the Touch's screen is being used and then to return to the lower brightness level once the screen is no longer being used regardless of the light level within the room. And I agree that this would be a very useful feature. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Snatch - The Transporter - Transporter 2 (oops) - Touch 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85836 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Still no luck getting rid of the clicks, but I think I may have found a way to find the correct format for the dac... Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] New to Touch: less configurable from Web UI?
I'm a very new user to SB devices... bought the SB Boom and was so excited about the options, I bought the SB Touch too... I hope it'll change over time... aubuti;599471 Wrote: That's the way it is. The Touch, Radio, and Controller are all a big shift away from the earlier slim clients (aka slim devices) such as the SB3/Classic, Boom, Receiver, and even Transporter. The newer products have more memory, more capable processors, and a more capable OS. Thus more of the settings can be set and stored on the devices themselves, instead of on the server. I believe there are open enhancement requests for making the settings available on SBS as well, but I think Logitech has decided that isn't going to happen, so things are likely to continue as they are now. -- mservaes mservaes's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44405 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84465 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] Problem setting up new Touch
In a nutshell, I can't get Squeeze Server on the local Win 7 PC to control the Touch. I went through the setup for the Touch. It appeared to install fine, and is working on MySqueezebox.com. I loaded the Squeeze Server software on the computer, that seemed to go fine. In the Squeeze Server browser interface it shows the Touch. I can click on the Touch on the pull down menu in the upper right hand corner. Normally when you do that, if it's on MySqueezebox, it asks about transferring to the Squeeze Server. This does that, but at that point nothing happens. It doesn't transfer - it just stays on MySqueezebox like it won't release it. What step am I missing here? -- eganders eganders's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25846 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85908 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Problem setting up new Touch
try directly on the Touch itself. Chose my music then it should offer to go to the local server. I'm not at home now, but i'm sure there are multiple possible ways to conect to the local server via the Touch itself, if server discovery via port 3483 is broken ( it should be open tcp and udpin the fw). You can actually conect to remote server in some menu and specify the ip of the server if all else fail. Once reconected to you ocla server it should work as usual . Or goto mysqueezebox.com and diconect it from there. It think either the web-ui or mysb.com have developed a bug where this transfer does not work -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
