[SlimDevices: Touch] Suggestions for seakers and amp to work with touch
Hello all, I have a touch working with an 18 year old denon amp and speakers which even after this time sound reasonably good. But after 18 years I think speakers and amps may have moved on a small bit :O) so I am looking at upgrading. I have a budget of £600 for both. I was thinking Marantz PM6004 and Dali Zensor 1's. Any opinions and/or suggestions greatfully recieved. Hi guys, Thank you Triode for all your work mate! Rumour has it that you live in Sydney? I've been testing the app with SBT into a Classe CP-800 preamp/DAC (capable up to 96 with USB and 192 with SP/DIF): - No issues with USB output. No hub needed and all frequencies/files work fine. Sound quality definitely up from using USB from my PC or MacBook with high res files - When using Coaxial SP/DIF all good up to 96KHz. 192KHz files--> Classe displays correct sampling rate but sound is distorted. I can hear the song playing but it's accompanied by what can be described as high frequency "Digital"noise. "Burn in" is a term used for long term reliability and failure analysis of components and component equipment. The sound won't change, just your perception of it. What is digital glare? Up there with colour and ambience? Looking around at what is available in your price range, I don't think I can beat your original choices. I had considered the NAD 326 BEE, but I suspect the highs may be a bit too strident and fatiguing (and the aesthetics of the Nad don't appeal so much). I also thought about the Peachtree Decco 65, but that blows your budget. Hello Dsdreamer, I had considered the nad but the reviews on the Marantz all agree that it's better. I was hoping that someone would have tried a few combinations and may be able to suggest a better suited set up. If I don't get any other suggestions I think I will buy the marantz/deli set up and do my own little review on the performance when fed from the Touch. Like thousands of others I'd just like to say thank you for all the work and tech support you do. Logitech should be ashamed with their new "product roadmap", there's obviously some idiots in key positions within the corporate structure who simply do not understand the product they bought from Sean Adams. They obviously saw it as a quick way into the AV streaming sector but then screwed up because they didn't understand the AV market either! I wish they'd go back to making mice and webcams and leave us audiophiles in peace!
