agentsmith wrote: Is the 2TB drive internal? May be that is the ticket Yes it is the microserver has slots for 4 internal drives and one could cram one extra in the 5,25 bay too . But anyway the server may be slow scanning and slow to use while scanning , but it should not really be completely bogged down during normal use ? Also notice that using music folder is no longer possible while scanning (it works normally after the scan is finished ). cue sheets does not work in music folder browsing either fyi. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] RCA Output while in standby
I was talking about the 2 analog out.. I will test with another pair of cables to see if there is a problem with it, I don't see how I could have a ground loop. I hope its is not the sensitivity of the amp ! Since it is a pretty straight forward amp, there's not much tweaking and no possible update.. Thanks for your advices ! giantpopples's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42798 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97477 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] RCA Output while in standby
I tried some things : first it was an electrical problem with the amp, even with the SBT not powered I could trigger the amp just by touching the RCA or by plugging it in the electrical powered off SBT.. Now it works but when I plug the SBT, the amp stays on standby until Free your music is displayed on the SBT and it powers on, so it detects something ! That should probably means that my amp is too sensitive :-( Is there a way I could reduce the noise from the SBT ? As you can see I am a real beginner in electronics. giantpopples's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42798 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97477 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

CharlieG wrote: agentsmith (The Matrix?), Could you please comfirm this is your setup. You have LMS running on a Macbook Pro, your music files are located on a NAS, you access the NAS over your home network, and your Mac Mini has nothing to do with Squeezebox or LMS. I think if you had the music files on an external hard drive plugged into the Macbook Pro, the performance would be faster. Is there any way you could test this. This test would the eleminate the posibility of slow network access between LMS and the music files as the cause of the problem. Please don't tell Neo we are trying to help you :-) agree. I suspect it is the files across the network that is slowing scanning and browsing down. To answer some prior questions: 1. Vortexbox is a complete operating system based on fedora linux. Installing it would wipe out the OS on your PC. So that's probably not what you want. It is good on a dedicated media PC. But running LMS on any decently powerful computer (i.e., NOT a low powered NAS) with attached USB drive should be just fine (Mac, PC, linux based, etc.) 2. I can scan 70,000 files on both my Vortexbox Appliance (small PC running VB) or my Win7 laptop with files attached via USB 2.0 external HD and in both cases the clear and rescan full scan takes about an hour. garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97459 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] Play List Options
I have made a play list in LMS but it is in two pages. I would like to add to it, but am unable to add anything to the first page. All of my additions go to the bottom of the second page and I can organize them there and only there. I apparently cannot move additions to the play list from the second page to the first page. [SlimDevices: Touch] Future Squeezeboxes added to network requiring user account at mysqueezebox.com
I have a Boom and a Touch, and the Boom connected just fine. The Touch is brand new, and I had a hell of a time connecting it. I'm using WEP and found out that the authentication couldn't be shared, it needed to be open authentication or no authentication. Ironically, shared is less-secure. Go figure. Anyway during setup, I was required to put in my user/pass for mysqueezebox.com. What will happen to the Squeezeboxes if this website is shut down, and also if it's shut down will I be unable to add new Squeezeboxes to the network? klezmer41's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97495 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Question from an old newbie
If you use music folder instead of artist ,album ,genre then acess over network would slow down browsing as you actually are browsing the folders and files and are not using the scanned database.
