Thanks.

is this adjustment in touch or Squeezebox center? From the wiki, looks
like it is a sbs settings?

There are two different things that have to happen for ReplayGain to be
use with the Touch (or any Squeezebox).

- The ReplayGain tags have to be read by the server and stored in the
  music library database.

- The ReplayGain values have to be applied by the player.

You can't disable or otherwise avoid #1. If the tags are present then
they're read. But #2 can be disabled and *is disabled by default* for
all Squeezeboxes. It's a player level setting, so it can be set
differently for each player.

Settable from the touch itself.
Available on both (local) tiny sbs, or remote sbs.

Thanks

I understand about number above. Once my FLAC files have the tag, it's
there. My FALC files are in my NAS and my NAS is running the SBS.

So, it is a Touch SBS setting and it's already disabled by default?
That's good to know so what I've been hearing over the weekend,
although ReplayGain is there for some FLAC, I am hearing the files in
the 'off' position. Good, I was happy with the sound level anyway.

I'll just rip with no ReplyGain from tonight onwards.

You can easily remove them. They're just tags.

So, it is a Touch SBS setting and it's already disabled by default on
 both?

No, it's one setting that can be set from either the Touch or from the
server. And yes, it's turned off by default.

That's an odd conclusion to come to after if you understand the above.
I seldom use it myself, except occasionally for background listening,
but I still take the time to apply the tags to all albums in my
library. Doesn't hurt anything and I won't have to do it in the future
if I decide to use it more often.

Ok, I'll continue to rip with RG and since the settings is turned off
by default on Touch or Server, I can use this tag in the future if
required. As you said, I won't have to do it in the future.
