Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Duplicate/ghost tracks
Hi everyone, it turns out he's been doing a factory reset and doesn't know how to clear and rescan. Can someone give me step by step instructions for this procedure please and I'll pass it on. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Duplicate/ghost tracks
From what I can gather from looking at earlier posts all involved are using the Touch w their drive attached to it directly and not over a network. In this case go to the Home Screen, then Advanced, then Squeezebox Server, then Wipe and Rescan. It will Take awhile depending on the size of the library. Wait until it has completed before trying to check if expected changes occurred. Thanks rayman, I followed the instructions myself but when it gets to squeezebox server, the only option is to stop server. Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Duplicate/ghost tracks
They both use an external hd, as do I. I've passed on your advice and need to ask if clear and rescan is the same as a factory reset? Thanks for your advice guys Rgds Steve -- steveb steveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39600 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87407 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Duplicate/ghost tracks
With TinySBS you may be able to get the full pathname and filename from the context menu for the affected tracks. Touch-and-hold on a track name to bring up the context menu, and scroll to see if there is info on the pathname and filename. It could be under More. Clear-and-rescan is different from a factory reset. Clear-and-rescan clears SBS's (or TinySBS's) database that contains all the metadata on your music library (album names, artist names, track names, genres, etc). A 'factory reset' clears the settings on the Touch and restores them to the state they were in when it left the factory. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87407 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
[SlimDevices: Touch] Duplicate/ghost tracks
I have two friends who have the same problem with the touch displaying a usable track followed by a duplicate ghost or unusable track. I have read that after a few rescans, this problem can go away. Unfortunately this hasn't worked for them, can anyone tell me if they have found a solution to this please? Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Duplicate/ghost tracks
Assuming you're not using the Touch's built-in server (TinySBS), use the web ui to drill down to see the specific pathname and filename for each of the tracks. One of them is most likely invalid for one reason or another. Also, first be sure that the rescan is a full clear-and-rescan. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87407 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
