Not completely sure, but you may be able to use the transcoding support (i.e. convert.conf, custom-convert.conf) along with the appropriate transcoding binary to play the audio stream of a video file. I too would like to be able to do some video-realted things on the Squeezebox Radios, Softsqueeze, etc. I'd like to have a zoneminder plugin to view cameras and hear audio from cameras I think the concerns with video would be: 1) horsepower of the hardware devices - It might be taxing the CPU to do video, especially if serious rescaling or large video required 2) video over wireless - uses a TON of bandwidth -- orders of magnitude more than audio. I'm certain that this would be an issue unless there was server-side re-encoding of video (i.e. play from airvideo server http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/index.html ) 3) extra 'bits' required to support video. [SlimDevices: Touch] Feature I want - Video Play
I would like to do this in a couple different ways: stream the audio from my PC to squeezebox for play through my stereo (this ability would also take care of the Apple MP4A files that can't be played) just take their audio stream and fork it to the squeezebox as a "soundcard". In this mode I could pick a video on YouTube watch the video on my pc and the sound would be out the system. The other would be the ability to play videos on the touch, it has the color screen it should do more than show me a tiny picture of the cover or the time.
