Thanks. No I haven't changed anything on my end. Cant really say if the
neighbors got anything new hooked up.
Its physically impossible to hook my touch directly into my router. I
can connect it via ethernet to one of my Orbing satellites. Do yo think
I'll have better results ?

Yea the Oppo Sabre DAC is excellent.

Yeah - FWIW I wouldn't be streaming any 24-bit stuff over Wi-Fi - at
least not for your main critical listening system :)

Having set that one of my secondary systems (see my signature) I use a
SB Touch and that is via Wi-Fi and uses the internal DAC in the Touch as
well - it's been doing similarly very badly on me last few days and
haven't figured out if it's due to my new QLMS install on my new QNAP
NAS (the NAS is on a 1Gbs Ethernet Cabled Network that my WAP is
connected to).

FWIW: I have a high quality Ubiquiti 'UniFi' WAP on a clean channel
(clear of neighbour's Wi-Fi) and broadcasting an extremely strong signal
(and straight line distance from SB Touch is about 6m with a single
internal wall between them) - so although I wouldn't recommend Wi-Fi for
hi-res tracks in my set-up it usually works reliably and it isn't the
Wi-Fi that causes the lag or stuttering.

Have you changed anything else recently with your music server or signal
path? If it was okay previously it's likely something else (if you
aren't getting interference from Neighbour's or from new devices in your
home hogging the Wi-Fi bandwidth), like a change to your LMS config...?

For sure. Much better use physical connection for hi-res. Wi-Fi is not good
enough at all - copes with ordinary FLAC but over about 1000Kbps, it will
stutter & rebuffer over & over

So I’m still having intermittent drops. Mostly on HiRez. 24/96 and
higher. It will work for a hour or so, then I get skips. I’m wondering
I’d there is a limitation on streaming HiRez over 2.4ghz on WiFi?

I switched the 2.4 ghz on Orbi and it seems to be fine. Thank you.
I have one album I cant play. Its a 24/192 down load that im pretty sure
use to play?
I'm streaming a Tidal album right now in 24/192 with no issues.

Possible you have a new neighbor on your wifi channel? Try an
alternate: 1, 6, or 11.

[SlimDevices: Touch] New difficulty play Hi Rez files

2020-01-24 Thread gellie

Dont know what happened. Was working well a couple of days ago. Now when
playing 24/96 files im getting major buffering.
Steps taken:
unplugged/replugged in Oppo 105 DAC
uninstalled/reinstalled EDO
Upgraded software
Changed output from USB to CoAx
reset Touch to factory

Tried switching from LMS to Roon.

Nothing works.

Like I said, was working fine as of yesterday.

Aslo reset router

Am I missing anything ?
