[SlimDevices: Touch] TouchServer Synchronisation
Does anyone please have any success or tips for getting the TouchServer/tinySC to stream synchronously to itself and a couple of other players (specifically Receiver and Radio). It will sometime work for moderate periods and at other times won't last a few seconds without rebuffering/stuttering and losing sync. My Setup Touch attached to Samsung Story 1.5T Receiver and Radio, wired via Homeplug [this network supports 5 players from SBS on WHS] 20,539 tracks - 95% FLAC ripped by EAC at flac -6 768kbit/s I have had some scanning issues covered separately here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77230 Symptoms rebuffering and stuttering - ometimes continuous, sometimes reduces and stops. complete silence (sometimes restarted by skipping track) Touch 'Now playing' not updating the progress bar (but on cycling can display the VU and Graphic Equaliser displays) Receiver stops playing (light goes dull) but Controller and Touch still think it is sync'd [unsync'd and resync'd to get it playing again] track moves to 'Stopped' status. Radio and Controller don;t display artwork (Touch does with text but not 'just' artwork) -- DigitalMitch 2 * SB3, 1 * Boom, 2 * SBR, 1 * Radio and 1 * Touch controlled by IR, SBC [and iPeng on iPhone - wifi died!!] 7.5.0 on WHS on HP MediaSmart (EX470) upgraded to 2G RAM http://www.last.fm/user/digimich DigitalMitch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15999 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77749 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

The screensavers take up significant CPU as I understand it, especially the analog VU meter one. Perhaps the CPU is getting maxed out. To avoid the issue, perhaps you could try not using the screensaver and just leave the now playing screen up. -- maggior Rich - Setup: 2 SB3s, 4 Booms, 1 Duet, 1 Receiver, 1 Touch. Are the Touch wireless ? A wireless server is not such a good idea ? Especially not with such a ligthweigth hardware Touch wifi can use some cpu especially if it's going to sync (I think) -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe'Primare and Dynadio speakers (including a pair of Contour 4 ) Bedroom/Office: Boom Kitchen: SB3 + powered Fostex PM0.4 Miscellaneous use: Radio (with battery) I use a Controller various ir-remotes and a Eee-PC with squeezeplay to control this Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77749 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] TouchServer Synchronisation
generally I leave now playing up - occasionally I hit the main area rather than 'back' to get to the menus, then I need to cycle through all options to get back to now playing - thats when I noticed that despite the stream stuttering/rebuffering - the high load displays still worked! Touch is wired - radio and receiver are wired via Homeplug. Is anyone sync'ing multiple players? if so how big is your music collection? -- DigitalMitch 2 * SB3, 1 * Boom, 2 * SBR, 1 * Radio and 1 * Touch controlled by IR, SBC [and iPeng on iPhone - wifi died!!] 7.5.0 on WHS on HP MediaSmart (EX470) upgraded to 2G RAM http://www.last.fm/user/digimich DigitalMitch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15999 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77749 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
