Upon checking the album art in detail I noticed that in some part in my collection (somewhere in the A-I folders) there were some anomalies in the album art: the embedded files were OK, but the folder.jpg's were sometimes mixed up, wrong files from different albums. Looks like some copy or disk error from some time ago (they were all older files). Of course I did not notice this when still using the SB2. It seems the album art scan became mixed up with this...since correcting it manually the problem disappeared and the Touch is now showing the correct album art. I also updated to 7.6 and noticed some differences in that, too, so that may also have helped. You are right - disabling pre-caching did not help. Cliver: you might be right about the tagging after all. I checked closely again and found out that there are folders that DO have the folder.jpg, but not the embedded jpg in the files. This might be different in behaviour than the folder that have neither. I'm no expert but from my experience and experimentation I have found that having album art embedded in each file and having a copy saved as folder.jpg (which in my case is the same as album.jpg) makes it show correctly on all my players. SBS, WinApm and HTC HD2 on which I have mp3's converted from flacs where nessesary. I was talking only about Squeezebox Server. That may be the case if you're talking about a library for use on different platforms. I use my library with a couple of playes besides SBS as I said. I find it easier to maintain everything the same. The only thing that changes is when I convert flac to mp3 for my mobile but I keep the tagging, naming convention and album art the same so I don't have to think to much about it. I just create a copy of the whole directory and convert the files in situ. [SlimDevices: Touch] wrong album art for some albums
This week I finally replaced my (still flawless) SB2 for the Touch. I assumed the Touch could do everything the SB2 could, so I was suprised by some things I found that I could do no longer (like configuring the home menu, but I'll get back to that in another thread). But since the album art shows in the Touch, there's something bothering me that I already noticed in the server before (but ignored since the SB2 doesn't show artwork). For a fairly great number of albums in my collection, the album art that is available seems to be replaced by a standard album (in my case of Weird Al Yankovic, a venomous twist of fate :-) For these albums, there is the right art available in the directories,but it does not show. All MP3's have the artwork embedded and the folders contain additional folder.jpg There are also folders without album art, these just show the 'no album art' image, like they should. I cannot find out why this particular image is shown in these cases. Tried a full rescan but that did not help. Anyone noticed this and has any suggestion?
