So just In case anybody else has a similar issue like the above with the reinstall state and missing Digital Output page, it also turned out to be a networking issue but not firewall related (my guess is the DNS response might be a bit too slow). In my case the touch is connected to a secondary router via Ethernet which is in WiFi bridge mode and for whatever reason that seemed to stop it consistently being able to download the applet properly. I connected it directly to my main router, selected reinstall and it then downloaded the applet rebooted and downloaded and installed the kernel then prompted for the Digital Output destination. Hope this helps someone in the future Third time lucky as I accidentally deleted two of my posts for this whilst trying to fix typos on my phone. I have just purchased a DAC that is supported by EDO but am having problems installing the applet. I'm running the following: Squeezebox Touch (connected via Ethernet) Community Firmware v8.0.1 r16907 LMS 8.3.1 (Docker container on Synology NAS) connected to mysqueezebox.com Chord Qutest DAC via USB As per installation instructions for the firmware I did a factory reset them tried to install EDO. However after the installation there was no Digital Output option and the applet couldn't be removed only reinstalled which briefly flashes up downloading before rebooting the Touch. I tried another factory reset let the first Firmware update (7.7.3 IIRC) install them tried installing EDO at which point it downloaded the kernel and installed allowing me to select the Qutest from the Digital Output screen. I let it update the firmware to v7.8.0 and I was back to the no kernel and reinstall only option being available from both the gallery and applet installer pages. Further factory resets haven't got me back into the state where EDO installs correctly with the kernel update and the EDO message on the boot screen. All those ideas will definitely have to wait till I get back. I only came across the 192khz plugin by pure chance when I was looking to purchase another touch this week. So it's not the end of the world if it does not work. I only have few 192khz albums anyway. Just thought it would be interesting to try. I can confirm that if I access the squeezebox media server via the Marantz interface the same file plays fine and displays 192khz/24bit on the display. If I play the same file via USB into the Marantz the same is true. It is just working properly via the touch. Installed on 64bit windows, everything connected via gigabit ethernet. 44khz and 48khz play and display correctly. Can anyone help I have just done the software upgrade to play 192khz files. The files are definitely 192khz as proved with media info, in FLAC format. My Marantz M-CR612 shows the bit rate on the optical in when a signal is input. But still only shows 96khz as it always has. I followed the instructions at the beginning of the thread to install and all seemed to go well, but no change on the incoming bit rate. You can actually just mute & unmute when the bitrate changes. How does the Pi sound compared to the SBT? I had to toggle between DAC inputs to get it to play again. On the other hand it works fine using SPDIF. I now have a Raspberry Pi feeding the USB and the Touch feeding the coax. The DAC comes with a USB cable which looks cheap but works fine. I use a Samsung phone charger. I initially tried a rechargeable USB power pack but couldn't tell the difference and recharging was a pain. I.E. - digital AND analogue AND Starting Point DAC 3. If your DAC isn't listed as an option on the Touch screen, then it probably isn't going to work - at least not on USB. Even if you do see it listed, it may not play which is what I faced with my Gungnir. If you have Coax s/pdif available as DAC inputs, then the Touch EDO may work using digital out. It did with my Gungnir. As was mentioned earlier, the Touch does reboot every time you change output. One final observation based on my experience. The original Touch will play (up to) 96/24 files without EDO. It will convert it to analogue output (internal DAC), or output it digitally by way of Coax or Optical. The EDO app provides TWO enhancements to the Touch. One, it enabled digital output of up to 192/24, and Two it added USB as an additional output. You should probably start a new thread for this question (title it something like "Tidal and MQA files playing through LMS". It has nothing to do with the EDO app (the title of this thread). LMS won't decode MQA, but I recall seeing some posts that reported that the MQA Tidal files were passed through to the MQA capable DACs and "turned on the blue light" showing that MQA was recognized. Hi there, I'm new and just got my Rpi4B today. Got it set up and ready for streaming and is working now. I am trying to stream Tidal to my MQA-capable DAC but whenever I try to load up some MQA files, the bit rate on my DAC display does not change and is stuck at 44.1 khz. My usb 5 on the schiit gungnir failed, so while having it repaired I decided to upgrade to the new unison usb. First time with new usb installed the touch booted, saw the gunginer, and then rebooted as per normal but no music. Clicked on the digital gungnir output and it said dac status was "stopped." Did a factory reset, reinstalled edo, and now the gungnir is again recognized and clicking on the digital output for the gunginer shows the dac is "running" - but still no sound. Have I upgraded myself out of compatibility with the my Touch? I have no real interest in upgrading my streamer, but do want to use the edo usb output. Any suggestions, or do I simply have an incompatible usb in my dac? I'm running latest LMS 8.1 and latest firmware on touch. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. My next move probably is to buy a micro rendu, but I'd REALLY rather keep using the Touch. Well iI have tried downloading the kernel update (did not expect that work,obvs) and connected the SBTouch via passive usb hub; that did not work. Replaced the Touch with a rpi3b+ running pCP v 6.1.0 squeezelite and that worked without a problem. Hi Edvard did you ever fix the playback issue between different bitrates? I see the same thing. I did find that muting and unmuting the DAC restored the sound slightly more easily than switching inputs but still not satisfactory. I also couldn't get a DSD64 file to play without silent gaps. Hi Thomas apparently the device uses the xmos usb chip, so there is a good chance that it may be recognised by the Squeezebox Touch. As always, "buyer beware", make sure thta you can return the device if it does not work (maybe check with the sellerbefore purchase for compatability and your right to return).
