[Touch-packages] [Bug 1292183] Re: Gmail password dialog box does not work and also can render the desktop useless after login
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. ** Changed in: gcr (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gcr in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292183 Title: Gmail password dialog box does not work and also can render the desktop useless after login Status in “gcr” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After each login a dialog box appears to enter the password of my gmail mailbox. However even if I type the correct password, the dialog box reappears. It seems it's totally unimportant if I type the correct or some incorrect password. The only thing which helps is to cancel the dialog box two times. The more important problem however: the dialog box does not appear immediately after the login, sometimes dozens of seconds pass. If I open some application, terminal, etc, it can cause problems especially if the app is in fullscreen mode: then the dialog box made the desktop unusable, I can't change between windows, I can't type, etc (I have to switch to text console, and stop/start lightdm to cure the problem ... the other workaround is to wait after the login the dialog box to appear cancel it two times and then I can work, but that's a bit hmmm odd). I know the problem is with the dialog box, as I can see through the terminal window, since it's set to be somewhat transparent. It's in this way since upgraded to 13.10 (and now in 14.04 too), one of the main motivation to upgrade to 14.04 was to avoid this very annoying feature. However it seems it's still a problem. Unfortunately I have no idea which app/setting/etc made the system to ask this password and why the correct password is not accepted :( Only today I got some hint by swithing into text console and digging in the process list. It seems there is a process which onky can be found during this problem: /usr/lib/gcr/gcr-prompter That's why I send this report against the gcr package as it seems to own that file. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1044549] Re: The Access Prompt randomly pop up!
The accounts.conf file is also used by the new Ubuntu online accounts configuration. The problem seems to be that after an upgrade the old entry from the original Gnome online accounts application is left. The new online accounts utility adds entries after the previous one which is the one causing the problem. This is the old entry in my case: [Account account_1388648527] Provider=google Identity=x...@gmail.com PresentationIdentity=x...@gmail.com MailEnabled=true CalendarEnabled=true ContactsEnabled=true ChatEnabled=true DocumentsEnabled=true Just editing the accounts.conf file and removing just this entry solved the problem. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1359065] Re: Cannot place an emergency call when device and SIM are locked
Actually, I couldn't do anything from the passcode prompt and couldn't start the dialer. I thought it was because of the SIM locked because it worked just before with the SIM unlocked. After a reboot it works fine. I'm closing this report and will file another one if I can reproduce the dialer doesn't launch from passcode prompt issue. ** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359065 Title: Cannot place an emergency call when device and SIM are locked Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: mako #199 If the device is locked by a passcode or pass-phrase and the SIM is locked with a PIN code, then it is not possible to place an emergency call from the greeter because there is no way to unlock the SIM card. The 12.04 version had a mute checkbox in addition to the slider. When the slider is moved to the bottom, everything is muted: Master, Headphone, Speaker, PCM. Move the slider up and only Master is unmuted. My computer has three hardware buttons for audio. The mute/unmute mutes but never unmutes. Same issue. Known problem: http://askubuntu.com/questions/397819/ubuntu-13-10-and- xfce4-no-sound-at-all With 2012.04 I could just uncheck the mute button and things were back to normal. Now I need to open Audio Mixer and unmute everything. (It also appears I need to unmute the Headphones to hear sounds from the internal speakers.) As someone who works in an environment where I regularly need to mute this behavior is very annoying. 1) The volume sliders should never mute. 2) There should be a mute checkbox. 3) The unmute options should unmute everything which was muted. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1359125] [NEW] Use a discreet notification when there is an active call
Public bug reported: build #199 When there is an incoming call during an active call, the notification uses the configured ringtone. It's very loud to the point you cannot talk anymore until the notification is dismissed. This is very intrusive and the notification should be more discreet like a small beep and a vibration. This behaviour should be the same for all the notifications (alarms, messages) when a call is active. Thomas, unity-scope-click as an upstream project doesn't have bugs on LP. They are filed against the package. The no longer affects changes was simply for that. Indicator-datetime currently tries to pull up notifications for, and play sounds for, both notifications. That's happening by accident and is clearly not the right approach. I can think of a couple of approaches we might take: (1) Queue the alarms such that only one triggers at a time. This has the advantage of being simple, both in concept and in code. I'm not certain this is the most user-friendly approach, as it could be frustrating have to dismiss a queue of alarms. (2) Somehow fold multiple alarms together. This has the advantage of being friendlier to the user as only a single snooze/dismiss prompt would be given. However it opens other questions, e.g. which of the alarms' sounds should play? Of these two I slghtly prefer (1) for its simplicity; however, neither of these options seems perfect and I'm hoping Design may have a better suggestion To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-datetime/+bug/1358890/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1230091] Re: [enhancement] Trusted Session surface management (required for appstore app trust model), modal subwindows
I didn't here back on the bug, however, online accounts and trust-store now have sufficient Mir support to utilize trust sessions, and we can therefore remove the rtm14 tag and likely reduce the severity. I will take care of the Ubuntu tasks. ** Tags removed: application-confinement rtm14 ** No longer affects: apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: signon (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid ** Changed in: content-hub Status: Triaged = Invalid ** Changed in: signon (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical = Undecided ** Changed in: content-hub Importance: Medium = Undecided ** Changed in: unity-mir (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical = Undecided -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1230091 Title: [enhancement] Trusted Session surface management (required for appstore app trust model), modal subwindows Status in Content sharing/picking infrastructure and service: Invalid Status in Mir: Triaged Status in Unity Mir: Triaged Status in “signon” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “unity-mir” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: (I'm filing this as a bug in order to be able to point other people to it, and to track its progress; if there's a blueprint containing this task, please let me know) Some components (such as the Online Accounts trusted helper) need to be able to pop-up a window (typically, a dialog) on top of the running application. Such windows should be modal to the application, that is the user should not be able to interact with the application while the modal window is displayed on top of them. This also means that in the task switcher one shouldn't see two windows, but only the topmost modal window (and parts of the application window, in case the modal window on top is a non-fullscreen dialog). For developers, this API already exists in Qt: see https://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.1/qtgui/qwindow.html#fromWinId It needs to be implemented in the QPA plugin, so feel free to add the relevant projects to the bug report. From jdstrand This is a hard requirement for application confinement because of our trust model-- permission to access sensitive data by AppStore apps is typically granted or denied at the time of access (caching the result for later use as appropriate), so users have a context for the access being requested. We do this instead of throwing up a permissions prompt at installation. However, for it to work, trusted helpers like online accounts and location require this functionality from unity-mir. A trust-store is also being implemented so other services like calendar and contacts can do the same. Because this feature is not implemented, the implementation for online accounts, location and the trust-store is blocked and appstore apps are therefore able to access these services without the user knowing.
