Bug description:

during normal boots, fsck runs fine with small partitions. But I have two
big partitions and systemd seems to abort fsck somewhere between 5 to 10
minutes from start. This results in the partition being checked again at every
boot. After manual run in recovery mode, everything is OK again.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1613561] Re: [MIR] thumbnailer

2016-09-20 Thread Michi Henning
Silo 1968 contains a no-change rebuild of the thumbnailer. As expected,
things are again blowing up for arm64 and ppc64el on yakkety.

Interestingly, things worked with xenial, even though the same QDBus is
installed there, as far as I can see.

I don't think the telepathy code changes you linked to are related to
what we are seeing. I'll double-check tomorrow.

I'm asking the trainguards to copy the packages from 1960 into 1968, so
we can check if the upstream patches affect what we are seeing.

Title:
  ntpdate-debian not working

Status in ntp package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in ntp source package in Xenial:
  Fix Committed
Status in ntp package in Debian:
  New

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * ntpdate-debian fails to work if ntp is installed at the same time
due to a conflict in the updated ntp config to the ntpdate-debian
  script.

  [Test Case]
  # e.g. spawn xenial container
  # Note: only occurs when ntp is installed as well
  $ apt-get install ntpdate ntp
  $ ntpdate-debian
(Note for latter verification enable proposed in that container and re-update
ntpdate)

  [Regression Potential]

   * There could exists a custom user conf that had a mixed server AND
pool specified, that now will use the first of both types while
instead formerly it would have used the first server entry. The chance
for this is super-low IMHO, but this case exists.

  in 16.04 I get this
  # ntpdate-debian
28 Apr 09:54:14 ntpdate[30747]: no servers can be used, exiting

The problem is that ntpdate-debian parse /etc/ntp.conf, searchin for the
word "server",
but the format of the file as changed a bit

  < server 0.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
  < server 1.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
  < server 2.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
  < server 3.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org
  ---
  > pool 0.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org iburst
  > pool 1.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org iburst
  > pool 2.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org iburst
  > pool 3.ubuntu.pool.ntp.org iburst
  25c24
  < server ntp.ubuntu.com
  ---
  > pool ntp.ubuntu.com

the word server as been replaced by "pool"

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1613561] Re: [MIR] thumbnailer

2016-09-20 Thread Timo Jyrinki
Ok I've now finished a rebuild and realized it would not have raised any
flags for me earlier since my test silo only early built only for amd64,
armhf and i386. I've now added arm64 to the mix.

This QDBus problem seems more architecture specific than the others
were.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1625930] [NEW] thumbnailer FTBFS on arm64 ppc64el

2016-09-20 Thread Timo Jyrinki

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thumbnailer/2.4+16.10.20160825-0ubuntu1

https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/167480/
https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/170356/

Thiago is the main contact in upstream.
--
We had also problems with telepathy-qt and signon with QDBus, but two patches
were landed that made QDBus ok with those. However, do note that the QDBus
rewrite in Qt 5.6 from event loop based to threaded might easily require
changes in our code, as it did for telepathy-qt:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/280893997/telepathy-qt_0.9.6.1-6ubuntu1_0.9.6.1-7ubuntu2.diff.gz
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/284273846/telepathy-qt_0.9.6.1-7ubuntu2_0.9.6.1-9ubuntu6.diff.gz

Maybe those could give some ideas on what to change in thumbnailer?

...although the thumbnailer problems seems a bit different as it's
limited to two rarer 64-bit architectures instead of happening on all of
them.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1597439] Re: [MIR] zeromq3

2016-09-20 Thread Steve Langasek
zeromq3 in yakkety-proposed now enforces the test suite, and passes with
fixes to make the test suite not use hard-coded local ports.

   https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zeromq3/4.1.5-2ubuntu3

(Bad idea to hard-code local port numbers in a test suite. Really bad
idea to do so with the same local port numbers, when your tests are run
in parallel.)

Łukasz, I leave it to you to forward-port this to the current upstream
git and forward to upstream.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1613561] Re: [MIR] thumbnailer

2016-09-20 Thread Timo Jyrinki
And I'm sorry, I did do rebuilds of 38 other Qt using packages in our
phone stack in July/August in order to file bugs (like the signon and
telepathy-qt ones), but it seems thumbnailer was indeed not in my
package list before this.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1625888] Re: I

2016-09-20 Thread Paul White
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html.

We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description
of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Pleaes also change the title of the bug to something more meaningful.

Thanks!

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1613561] Re: [MIR] thumbnailer

2016-09-20 Thread Timo Jyrinki
As with unity-scope-click, you could try out https://requests.ci-
train.ubuntu.com/#/ticket/1960 which has two pending QDBus patches that
are however not yet merged or approved in upstream.

We had also problems with telepathy-qt and signon with QDBus, but two
patches were landed that made QDBus ok with those. However, do note that
the QDBus rewrite in Qt 5.6 from event loop based to threaded might
easily require changes in our code, as it did for telepathy-qt:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/280893997/telepathy-qt_0.9.6.1-6ubuntu1_0.9.6.1-7ubuntu2.diff.gz
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/284273846/telepathy-qt_0.9.6.1-7ubuntu2_0.9.6.1-9ubuntu6.diff.gz

Maybe those could give some ideas on what to change in thumbnailer?

As Qt 5.6 is a long term supported release, we can also write test cases
and file bugs upstream https://bugreports.qt-project.org/ to get
attention to problems we have.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1613561] Re: [MIR] thumbnailer

2016-09-20 Thread Michi Henning
So, as best as we can tell, this is caused by an upgrade to Qt.
Specifically, anything that uses QDBus is falling over. We are seeing
similar problems with unity-scope-click here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtbase-opensource-
src/+bug/1618590

Basically, the code works with Qt 5.5, and doesn't with Qt 5.6. The ftbs
for thumbnailer here

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thumbnailer/2.4+16.10.20160825-0ubuntu1

shows that the tests failed only on yakkety arm64 and ppc64el. That's
because that silo was built before Qt 5.6 was added to the Xenial
overlay. If I were to build in a silo now, I expect I'd see the same
failures on both xenial and yakkety.

Not sure what we can do to help here. The problem isn't in the
thumbnailer code, but somewhere in QDBus, by the looks of things.

NM needs to re-read the DEVTYPE after the device name changed, an example is
that WiFi network list disappears from network manager applet

  [Testcase]
  1. Boot the system. It should include a wireless device.
  2. In a terminal, run 'nmcli dev'.
  3. In the correct case, the line for the wireless device should read "wifi"
under the TYPE column. In a failure case, it will read "ethernet".

After upgrading to the new version, the repeating the above steps
  should give expected behavior.

  [Regression Potential]
Potential of causing regression is relatively small for a one line change to
re-read a value to be known.

  ---

  Problems:-

  1. The network manager applet does not show the list of WiFI APs it can find.
  2. The network manager applet does not the name of the AP to which it is
connected
  3. The icon of the applet shows two vertical arrows in opposite direction -
the wired connection symbol and NOT the wifi connected icon.

  Temporary Workaround:-
Log out and again log back in.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1574347] Re: [SRU] Re-read the link type if the name changed

2016-09-20 Thread Yiyao Yu
Still happening on Dell XPS 14 l421x with Intel Corporation Centrino
Advanced-N 6235 (rev 24). Already running network-manager 1.2.0. It
seems that the network manager applet wifi icon changes back to the
ethernet icon every time the system wakes from sleep.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1607920] Re: zfs services fail on firstboot if zfs-utils is integrated into the deployment image

2016-09-20 Thread Eric Desrochers
I jointly worked with the zfsonlinux maintainer on a patch that will be merged
in 0.7.0 milestone
https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/milestone/11?closed=1

#4680, has been tackled in two parts. the first part (patch that will be
merge in 0.7.0), change from /etc/mtab to /proc/self/mounts, and keep
the existing mtab update functions alone in the mount helper.

Eventually, a second part would be for ZoL contributor/maintainers to do
the integration with libmount. libmount didn't exist on Linux when the
mount helper code was originally written. That could allow ZoL to drop
their custom code.

Title:
zfs services fail on firstboot if zfs-utils is integrated into the
  deployment image

Status in sysvinit package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix
Status in zfs-linux package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * zfs services fail on firstboot if zfs-utils is integrated into the
  deployment image.

   * Output from systemd -
  sudo systemctl --failed
  UNIT LOAD ACTIVE SUB DESCRIPTION
  ● zfs-import-scan.service loaded failed failed Import ZFS pools by device
scanning
  ● zfs-mount.service loaded failed failed Mount ZFS filesystems

   * This is particularly frustrating for users who use automated
monitoring as it means virtual machines must always be restarted
  before showing as clean.

   * This failure is due to zfs services starting up before /etc/mtab
has a chance to be symlinked to /proc/mounts.

  [Test Case]

   1. Grab a stock xenial image, and unpack it and add zfs-utils to it. Repack
it.
   2. Boot machine
   3. Check systemctl --failed.

  [Regression Potential]

   *

  [Other Info]

   * This can likely be resolved in the systemd init scripts, by modifying
zfs-linux to depend on /proc/mounts instead, or inclusion of
/lib/init/mount-functions.sh in initscripts (sysvinit).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1598300] Re: cups hang after a while

2016-09-20 Thread Till Kamppeter
SRU fix for Xenial is simple. In the CUPS 2.1.3 used there the upstream
bug (https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/4755) is already fixed but it
seems that the removal of the workaround patch (auto-shutdown-on-idle-
also-with-webinterface-on.patch) got forgotten. So removing this patch
seems to be everything which has to get done here.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1598300] Re: cups hang after a while

2016-09-20 Thread Till Kamppeter
Not having "ListenStream=631" in the systemd cups.socket file is
intended. See the answer from Mike Sweet, author of CUPS:

--
First, the reason why we don't include "ListenStream=631" is because that
exposes cupsd to remote attack. And we don't listen on localhost (which has a
similar security issue) because it causes problems when binding to the "any"
address on Linux.

Second, once cupsd starts it will create the localhost (or "any" address)
listener for you, and stay running indefinitely. And cupsd uses a KeepAlive
file to tell systemd to start it up on bootup once you enable the web
interface, so it should be running right away unless you've added something to
manually start/stop cupsd.
--

In Yakkety (16.10), CUPS behaves as intended upstream, not automatically
shutting down when it shares at least one printer or the web interface
is active (turned on via "WebInterface Yes" in cupsd.conf). So there
this bug should be fixed.

In earlier Ubuntu versions, like Xenial (16.04 LTS), there is a patch
which allows for CUPS auto shutdown due to another problem, whgich is
fixed in later CUPS versions. This fix needs to get backported so that
auto shutdown can be suppressed with active web interface, to match the
upstream standard.

Thanks Luke.

I tried it but, sorry to report, the results are the same: pavucontrol
claims that the HDMI is unplugged.

I also checked with "aplay -D" commands and none of the HDMI devices
detected will play. The internal audio and a USB device are detected
and work fine.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1625840] [NEW] System crashed after upgrade

2016-09-20 Thread Rui
Public bug reported:

Daily upgrade check. After upgrading today 09/20/2016, my computer
crashed while restarting.

Starting ubuntu is only possible through upstart option or recovery

crashes whenever I restart it through default grub option.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1617020] Re: package fontconfig 2.11.94-0ubuntu1.1 failed to install/upgrade: triggers looping, abandoned

2016-09-20 Thread dleh
I too was affected by this bug.

Running 14.04.5 (ASUS NX500J Notebook), no outstanding updates - but HWE
upgrade performed to 16.04 compatible as prompted before upgrade,
upgrade from terminal to 16.04.1:

$ sudo do-release-upgrade

Failed as described by Boki during initial upgrade.

Upon reboot I was unable to login via the UI, the UI looked messed up and was
unresponsive.
But I could access the terminal via: ctrl+alt+f1

I was able to restore a seemingly working 16.04.1 using the following
steps:

$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
This showed that I was missing a couple of dependencies, the names escape me -
but it wasn't the offending package.

$ sudo apt-get -f install
Installed missing dependencies.

$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
This showed a large number of unneeded packages and more importantly a even
larger number of up-gradable packages
I installed them, while being randomly being prompted for the password for the
encrypted swap-partition.
It took a while but it succeeded.

Bug description:
A browser based application that wants to use position can call
getCurrentPosition

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Geolocation/getCurrentPosition
  or watchPosition
  https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Geolocation/watchPosition

maps (such as google maps) and navigation applications will typically use
watchPosition which will cause location services to turn on the GPS chip and
get a new location for the device.
non-map applications that just want location aware context for things such as
weather or local stores e.g. https://www.aldi.co.uk/store-finder do not
subscribe to updates with watchPosition. They just call getCurrentPosition and
expect a decent enough position to use.

Ubuntu Touch returns the last known position from the cache when
getCurrentPosition is called, and then fails to turn on the GPS. It
should block until it has a decent position and return good data to
the success callback. It certainly shouldn't return a bad position and
then fail to make an effort to get a good position.

The result of this bug is that you can go to a location aware web
page, it will think you are somewhere else entirely, and refreshing
will not improve the situation, you have to open a mapping application
that uses watchPosition and wait for a fix to be obtained before going
back to your location aware web page and refreshing to get good data.

In my own case the problem remain the same. No difference between OTA-12 and 13

Also I can't remove "Nissan Connect" device, to remove it I needed to use the
terminal again.

How can I provide more details?

Thank you

Title:
Unable to pair with in-car hands-free system after OTA-9 update

Status in Canonical System Image:
  Fix Released
Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
After OTA-9 I started having trouble with my bluetooth connection to the car
hands-free system (no sound, and incoming calls no longer displayed the
number), so I have reset both the car and the phone connections (eg. forgot the
devices).
Now I can't even pair the phone with the car's system.
The car finds the phone, and then asks me to enter the code "" to pair
the device, but after a few moments, it just says the connection failed and
asks me to try again. Which fails again.

It was working fine just before the update.

Any logs I should post to help debug?

PS - The car is a 2015 Honda Civic Tourer, if that matters.

Bug description:
After months of complaints from people talking to me on the phone
(mako ubuntu touch), I finally got around to use multiROM to dual boot
Ubuntu Touch and Android. Several people can confirm that there is a
noticable difference in terms of sound/microphone quality between
Android and UT in phone calls. With UT, my voice gets distorted to an
extent that person at the other end have real difficulties to hear
what I am saying, while with Android call quality is much better with
  no distortion.

I have had a suspicion for a long time that this might be a software
and not a hardware issue. After trying Android and Ubuntu on the same
hardware I believe this suspicion is proved correct. This issue has
persisted in all the builds I have tried since at least the beginning
of the year, but probably longer. I am now at r17 of Utopic.

~/.config/url-dispatcher/urls. According to Ted, after running

  $ initctl start url-dispatcher-update-user

that's not working.
It only works if I run /usr/lib/*/url-dispatcher/update-directory with the
path or my .url-dispatcher file.

To check the database after the update:

echo .quit | sqlite3 -batch -csv -cmd "select urls.protocol,
urls.domainsuffix, configfiles.name from urls, configfiles where

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1625826] [NEW] bluetooth broken: requires OS X boot

2016-09-20 Thread jonathan chetwynd
Public bug reported:

using mac mini 6.1, dual boot, but only Ubuntu 12.04 LTS used for many
years.

I never had any problem using apple aluminium bluetooth keyboard

I recently upgraded to 16.04, everything was fine for about a month,

then bluetooth failed to load on start,

via search engine eventually discovered workaround, boot into OS X 64bit,
no need to login or anything just pick option and reboot.

then bluetooth just works again.

not clear what stops it working, I had updated today, and was using
keyboard/mouse
when I discovered bluetooth logo missing from top bar

#1001825 may be related? currently 12.04 specific

Mac mini 6.2 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3615QM CPU @ 2.30GHz

had been running UbuntuLTS 14.04 and using Apple Aluminium Keyboard

however after upgrade to 16.04, bluetooth is not coonecting, icon is not
in top bar.

  1. Switch to the Emoji keyboard.

What you see: Only 18 emoji are shown at a time.
What you should see: Many more than that.

In contrast, the Emoji keyboard on:
  * a Nexus 5 shows 21 emoji at once
  * an iPhone 5/6 shows 40 emoji at once — more than twice as many, in less
space.

There seem to be four reasons for this inefficiency. In order of
  importance:

  A. The spacing between and around the rows is enough, in total, to fit
an entire extra row of buttons. (Part of the spacing is because the
keys have curved borders, apparently imitating some hardware Emoji
  keyboard that doesn't exist.)

  B. Most of the bottom row is taken up by a space bar, which is seldom
relevant when people are typing emoji.

  C. Scrolling does not use the standard flick gesture. Instead it uses
two dedicated buttons that, as well as being inconsistent with the
rest of the OS, take up space on the keyboard.

  D. The keyboard has a “?123” button that is redundant with the button
  for switching layouts.

immediately, and doesn't turn back on again to allow hanging up via a
  screen control.

  Potential duplicate: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-
  system-image/+bug/1483127

Device: Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition
  OS version: 15.04 (r5)

  A) Incoming phone call:
     - Accept the incoming call by sliding the grey middle button to the
green button
     - Watch the screen turning black
     - Bring the phone to your ear, speak (as in a normal phone call)
     - Take the phone away from your ear, note that the screen stays black

How to hang up anyway: (workaround)
     - (continued from above, screen stays black after taking it away from
your ear)
     - Press the screen lock/unlock button (= button above volume control)
     - Screen with phone app shows for about half a second, then turns
black again
     - Press the screen lock/unlock button again, and try to press the red
hangup button quickly
     - Repeat the previous step until hanging up succeeds

  B) Outbound phone call:
     - Open the phone app
     - Slide up Recent calls list from bottom edge, select a phone number
     - Press green dial button to initiate the call
     - Watch the phone dialling and the screen turning black
     - Bring the phone to your ear, speak (as in a normal phone call)
     - Take the phone away from your ear, note that the screen stays black

How to hang up anyway: (workaround)
     - (same procedure as in A. above)
     - Difference in behavior:
   * In some calls after pressing the lock/unlock button for the first
time the screen stays alight (doesn't turn black again after half a second).

Jean-Baptiste Lallement confirms on the ubuntu-phone mailing list:
In both cases, covering/uncovering the proximity sensor should turn the
screen on, if the screen has not been turned off with the power button. (This
is not happening.)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1565469] Re: GPS Denied without reason

2016-09-20 Thread Rüdiger Kupper
>From my experience I believe that the issue is triggered by several apps
>sharing GPS access.
For instance, GPS frequently breaks down with uNav, when other apps access GPS
data concurrently. Like: Browser (geolocation, e.g. Google maps), nearby scope,
cachemere, etc.
I tend to have open a lot of apps in background, many of them acessIng GPS. If
I use uNav togetjer with those, it usually works for a few minuites, then
freezes an loses GPS.
I can resolve this issue by closing all other apps using GPS. After that, uNav
works perfect.

I.e.: uNav requires exclusive access to GPS in order to work. It breaks
as soon as another process requires read access to GPS.

There us no logical reason, why not several processes at once should
read GPS data (it is read-obky after all). Still, this reproducibly
breaks.

Bug description:
  UPSTREAM BUG: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-53726

Description (copied from the upstream bug I created)

According to Flickable's documentation, widthRatio and heightRatio define
"the percentage of the full view currently visible, scaled to 0.0 - 1.0".
At the moment, defining leftMargin so that
  leftMargin+contentWidth < flickable.width
causes widthRatio to be wrongly evaluated to something != 1, whereas it
should be 1, because Flickable's defaults at -leftMargin
  (see
https://github.com/qtproject/qtdeclarative/blob/5.6/src/quick/items/qquickflickable.cpp#L1592
 ).
and when contentX is -leftMargin, the whole content fits inside the view.
As a consequence of that, in the current implementation you can also scroll
the item from the testcase left and right, which shouldn't be possible (because
item+margin are still smaller than the view).

  Additional Ubuntu-specific info:
This is currently blocking the correct implementation of the new scrollbars
inside TextFields (ping kalikiana or me (faenil) on IRC for more info)

  TESTCASE

  import QtQuick 2.0

  Flickable {
  id: flickable
  width: 200
  height: 200
  contentWidth: item.width
  contentHeight: item.height
  topMargin: 20
  leftMargin: 40
  Component.onCompleted: console.log("xPos",
flickable.visibleArea.xPosition, "widthRatio", flickable.visibleArea.widthRatio)
  Connections {
  target: flickable.visibleArea
  onXPositionChanged: console.log("xPosChanged",
flickable.visibleArea.xPosition)
  onWidthRatioChanged: console.log("widthRatioChanged",
flickable.visibleArea.widthRatio)
  }
  Rectangle {
  id: item
  width: 100
  height: 100
  color: "black"
  }
  }

  ===

  How to reproduce:
  1) qmlscene testcase.qml
  2) watch the console output

Actual result: widthRatio is != 1
  Expected result: widthRatio == 1

This doesn't suit my particular application as I would like to
maintain maximum screen space for the drawing canvas.

I have attached some screenshots (early development - dont judge me!!)
  of what I am seeing.

It would be super cool if you could include a flag or option to
disable the header adjustment for any particular page or column.

  UX Fix:

A flag will be included in the header component to disable header
adjustments, allowing developers to have different header heights for
convergence apps.
Ideally for full screen applications the header should be set to hidden.

libmirserver/platform presently is only compiled to use the "ES"
subset of OpenGL. This works for mobile devices and many desktop use
  cases but not all.

There are a few pending reasons to compile for full OpenGL on desktop
  (and/or switch at runtime!):

  1. Qt only understands full OpenGL on desktop. Presently we use a hack
that makes it call ES functions pretending to be full OpenGL, but this
hack will fail when we support non-Mesa desktop drivers.

  2. Proprietary desktop drivers sometimes don't support ES.

  3. Proprietary desktop drivers often (last I checked) perform better
with full OpenGL. Not sure why, probably just driver maturity.

  4. There is evidence (bug 1420574) that ES doesn't work at all on some
older chipsets and regular OpenGL is required.

given specific color information, we either could render the color as
requested or ignore it. But in neither case should we show the
  "missing-character" symbol.

Sometimes it's needed that only sim 1 is active.
Sometimes it's needed that only sim 2 is active.
Sometimes it's needed that sim 1 and sim 2 is active.

So there should be the possibility to completely activate/deactivate sim 1

Would be nice in the context menu of the network indicator,

Bug description:
The UA override lists are plain javascript files shipped by qml-
module-ubuntu-web. The overrides are hardcoded, and often contain
version numbers such as the webkit build version, the chrome/chromium
build version, the ubuntu release, e.g.:

"Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Ubuntu 14.04 like Android 4.4)
  AppleWebKit/537.36 Chromium/35.0.1870.2 Mobile Safari"

It would be useful if we could generate those files at build time, and
allow for variables to be replaced. For example, the above UA string
  would become:

"Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Ubuntu @UBUNTU_VERSION@ like Android 4.4)
  AppleWebKit/@WEBKIT_VERSION@ Chromium/@CHROMIUM_VERSION@ Mobile
  Safari/@WEBKIT_VERSION@"

Not all overrides would be required to use those variables, if
necessary some version numbers could remain hardcoded.

In the documentation for QML TextEdit component (inherited by UITK TextArea):
"Whether the TextEdit should keep the selection visible when it loses
active focus to another item in the scene. By default this is set to false."

The component from UITK[3] only set an alias to the TextEdit property,
without changing its default value. This leads to an unexpected
behaviour whenever the default property is set to a different value by
  the upstream project.

In Qt 5.0.2 the property was set to true[4]. Since Qt 5.1.1, the value
  has been changed[5].

Qt is calculating the DPI value based on information Mir gives it

physical size of the screen to calculate DPI itself.

But the X11 backend reports the physical size equal to the number of
pixels, so 1mm = 1 pixel. This makes the DPI calculation always return
25.4dpi, which causes Qt to render tiny fonts.

Could you please mock the physical screen size to return something so
that DPI becomes something more sensible?
