[Touch-packages] [Bug 1883880] Re: fix non-8-bit x86 displacements breaking AVX512 builds on Bionic
A few dep8 tests failed in the sniff, but all of them are existing known overrides in Bionic: ubuntu-release:9:force-badtest dh-ada-library/6.12 ubuntu-release:18:force-badtest lintian/2.5.81ubuntu1 pitti:2:force-badtest rpmlint/1.9-6 ubuntu-sru:17:force-badtest snapcraft/2.43.1+18.04/amd64 snapcraft/2.43.1+18.04/i386 ubuntu-sru:20:force-badtest snapcraft/2.43.1+18.04/armhf snapcraft/2.43.1+18.04/arm64 ubuntu-release:90:force-badtest linux-hwe/all ubuntu-release:91:force-badtest linux-hwe-edge/all So this should be good as-is, but needs Doko to sign-off and sponsor with the experience of potential side effects of a binutils update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to binutils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1883880 Title: fix non-8-bit x86 displacements breaking AVX512 builds on Bionic Status in binutils package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in binutils source package in Bionic: New Bug description: [Impact] * the assembler scales non 8 bit cases which was identified to break e.g. some AVX512 code. It is nasty as it isn't a compile/link/ time error. Instead the instructions might silently be corrupted until running. Furthermore it is in several Ubuntu releases without bugs due to that, which should make the backport rather safe. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1884455] Re: pulseaudio creates /root/.config/pulse/ before zfs-mount.service can mount the /root dataset
The existence of a file in /root and also: PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon. both suggest that your pulseaudio daemon is running in system-wide mode when it shouldn't. At one of the latest upgrades, the 'zfsutils-linux' package failed to update because the service 'zfs-mount' service had an issue and could not mount the '/root' dataset because the '/root' directory was not empty (temporary solution was to rename /root and call 'zfs mount' again). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1884393] Re: With Auto-hide dock enabled, icons get hidden behind dock & dock does not hide untill there's an app near it
This is the intended behaviour and won't be fixed. The desktop icons are designed to occupy the maximum space that is usually available. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Package changed: gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1884393 Title: With Auto-hide dock enabled, icons get hidden behind dock & dock does not hide untill there's an app near it Status in gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Gnome Settings>Appearance> auto hide dock //enable it automatically you might see icons getting hidden behind dock (keep windows away from dock). Not only desktop getting hidden under dock looks unaesthetic, But don't you think dock should remain hidden till the user points mouse at it? Other wise we won't be able to use left side of the desktop to keep icons. Dock never hides till an app is near it, so desktop icons may get under it. So that we can use the entire left side of desktop to keep icons, with the auto hide dock option enabled, don't you think dock should remain hidden until user points mouse near it? //probably a logical error ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-37.41-generic 5.4.41 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-37-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.3 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/log/boot.log' CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sun Jun 21 02:14:32 2020 DistUpgraded: 2020-05-10 12:37:12,893 ERROR got error from PostInstallScript ./xorg_fix_proprietary.py (g-exec-error-quark: Failed to execute child process “./xorg_fix_proprietary.py” (No such file or directory) (8)) DistroCodename: focal DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, including running git bisection searches GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Device [8086:5906] (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0794] InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-12-13 (190 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Beta amd64 (20191210) MachineType: Dell Inc. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1884392] Re: Clock does not remain in center when auto-hide the dock setting is disabled from gnome settings
That's an Ubuntu feature designed to match the position of text in the titlebar of maximized windows. It's not a bug but I understand some people don't like it (occasionally including me). @tim474, When it doesn't work, please run amixer contents to check Input Source/Capture Source value, if its value is "Headset Mic"? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1884455] [NEW] pulseaudio creates /root/.config/pulse/ before zfs-mount.service can mount the /root dataset
Public bug reported: I use 'zfs' and have /root as its own dataset which is mounted during startup by 'zfs-mount.service'. At one of the latest upgrades, the 'zfsutils-linux' package failed to update because the service 'zfs-mount' service had an issue and could not mount the '/root' dataset because the '/root' directory was not empty (temporary solution was to rename /root and call 'zfs mount' again). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1882034] Re: cannot start X session with NIS account
> Do you seem to observe https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/2941 ? The message is the same, but I cannot see a "hidepid" mount option anywhere. As a standard user I can see all /proc/ directories, and read the /proc//cgroup file of other users, including root. So I'd say that it is not exactly the same issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1882034 Title: cannot start X session with NIS account Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When login with a NIS account, X does not start, or more precisely it starts and exits immediately. SSH/terminal console login with NIS accounts works fine. /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config: allowed_users=anybody I've seen several reports of such problems under other versions (eg 19.10), but no working solutions was found. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1884437] [NEW] Windows are resized and reordered upon resume from lock or suspend
Public bug reported: After a resume from a lock/suspend, windows sizes are changed, fonts are incorrect sizes (until mouse over), and windows have moved from the secondary monitor to the primary monitor. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1884422] Re: package dbus 1.10.6-1ubuntu3.3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess dpkg-split returned error exit status 2
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [This is an automated message. I am using Lubuntu 20.04 with lxqt, and since the upgrade to 20.04 iris is the default graphics driver, which results in crashes in multiple apps including guvcview and calibre. Setting MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=i965 fixed the problem. I am not sure but is it true that iris does not support older generations of Intel CPUs? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1878194] Re: [Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC] Bluetooth headset not working when selecting HSP/HFP audio profile in Focal Fossa
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1871794 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871794 And I just did a test on that Lenovo laptop. Disable the on-board bluetooth host controller via BIOS, and plug in a usb bluetooth dongle (CSR8510 A10 0a12:0001), now the hci0 is the external usb bt dongle. And all 4 headsets could work well in hsp/hfp mode now, both playback and recording work well. And through hciconfig, I could see the sco packets number is not zero anymore. So for my case, it is kernel driver or firmware issue instead of pulseaudio issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1878194 Title: [Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC] Bluetooth headset not working when selecting HSP/HFP audio profile in Focal Fossa Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After updating the release from Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04, the bluetooth headset doesn't work anymore when HSP/HFP profile is selected. With Ubuntu 19.10 the headset was working, there was audio and the mic was perfect for video conferencing. [Steps to reproduce] 1. Connect headset (used blueman to setup and connect) 1.1. When connected the system automatically selects A2DP profile 2. Start playing audio (browser or other) 3. Change profile to HSP/HFP with pavucontrol (or blueman) 4. The audio disappears and microphone is not working (no input) 5. Optionally switch back to A2DP and the audio comes back [Expected] When switching to HSP/HFP the audio should keep playing and the microphone should start working [Notes] I tried with pavucontrol to switch between profiles while playing audio from a browser. As side note there's a led in the headset that still blinks when switching profile. I tried deleting the pulse folder under user's profile .config without success, also reinstalled packages and did a `sudo alsa force-reload` and rebooting several times. Note: not sure this is a duplicate of [Bug #1576559], it looks quite different since the profile changes but the headset stops working.
