[Touch-packages] [Bug 1894454] Re: Xorg freeze
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Tags added: nvidia ** Summary changed: - Xorg freeze + [nvidia] Screen freeze ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1894454 Title: [nvidia] Screen freeze Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Ubuntu 20.04 freezes randomly ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-45.49-generic 5.4.55 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-45-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.capabilities.gpu0: Error: [Errno 21] Bir dizin: '/proc/driver/nvidia/capabilities/gpu0' .proc.driver.nvidia.capabilities.mig: Error: [Errno 21] Bir dizin: '/proc/driver/nvidia/capabilities/mig' .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus..01.00.0: Error: [Errno 21] Bir dizin: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/:01:00.0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: "" .proc.driver.nvidia.suspend: suspend hibernate resume .proc.driver.nvidia.suspend_depth: default modeset uvm .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 450.66 Wed Aug 12 19:42:48 UTC 2020 GCC version: gcc version 9.3.0 (Ubuntu 9.3.0-10ubuntu2) ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.8 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Erişim engellendi: '/var/log/boot.log' CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Sep 7 01:22:46 2020 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: focal DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: nvidia, 450.66, 5.4.0-45-generic, x86_64: installed virtualbox, 6.1.10, 5.4.0-42-generic, x86_64: installed virtualbox, 6.1.10, 5.4.0-45-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GpuHangFrequency: Several times a day GpuHangReproducibility: Seems to happen randomly GpuHangStarted: Since a couple weeks or more GraphicsCard: NVIDIA Corporation GM107GL [Quadro K620] [10de:13bb] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: NVIDIA Corporation GM107GL [Quadro K620] [10de:1098] InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-04-26 (133 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200423) MachineType: Dell Inc. This is also true for other speakers as for example JBL Bluetooth speakers. Problem 2: BOSE Headset/Gnome BT Audio configuration. I am unable to switch between HSP/DSP mode to A2DP Sink. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1876637] Re: [Lenovo V330-15IKB] Volume jumps to max automatically
See also bug 1894075. ** Summary changed: - I use the buttons on the keyboard to adjust sound (F1 mute, F2 decrease, F3 increase). More often than not, I push two to four times until the sound gets to the level I want. Sometimes it gets automatic after I press, and takes it all the way up, or all the way down. I'm not sure if this is a feature or bug but I can't figure out when it will be triggered, thus I end up pumping the music at very loud, uncomfortable levels until I get back my control from panic and decrease the volume to somewhere acceptable. There are times it automatically goes to complete silent from there which is still annoying although not as much as the first one. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1805077] Re: [ASUS X555YI] the audio pause and repeat for a very short of time randomly
I am a new Linux user, and I face the same problem in Ubuntu 20.04 A short (about a second or less) repeated sound occurs at random times, in the browser, in VLC or even the system sounds, and it's actually annoying. I tried Fedora 32 but the same issue there but less likely to happens, and I tried OpenSUSE Leap 15.2 and it never happened. My search led me to an Arch article explaining the situation: "The newer implementation of the PulseAudio sound server uses timer-based audio scheduling instead of the traditional, interrupt-driven approach. Timer-based scheduling may expose issues in some ALSA drivers. On the other hand, other drivers might be glitchy without it on, so check to see what works on your system." See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Troubleshooting#Glitches,_skips_or_crackling I tried the proposed solutions but it Don't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805077 Title: [ASUS X555YI] the audio pause and repeat for a very short of time randomly Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: the audio pause and repeat for a very short of time randomly when I use web browser to play music and use smplayer play video this bug happens randomly. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.5 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: widon 13716 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: widon 13716 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-11-24 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180725) Package: pulseaudio 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-39.42-generic 4.15.18 Tags: bionic Uname: Linux 4.15.0-39-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 11/13/2015 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: X555YI.510 dmi.board.asset.tag: ATN12345678901234567 dmi.board.name: X555YI dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. dmi.board.version: 1.0 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: ATN12345678901234567 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. dmi.chassis.version: 1.0 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvrX555YI.510:bd11/13/2015:svnASUSTeKCOMPUTERINC.:pnX555YI:pvr1.0:rvnASUSTeKCOMPUTERINC.:rnX555YI:rvr1.0:cvnASUSTeKCOMPUTERINC.:ct10:cvr1.0: dmi.product.family: X dmi.product.name: X555YI dmi.product.version: 1.0 dmi.sys.vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1894432] [NEW] corrupted screen on Chrome when returning from sleep
Public bug reported: Problem just started happening within the last few days. No major system changes that I can think of other than some 'live-patches' being reported as updated... Only appears to happen in Chrome (so maybe I should report it there?) as other application don't seem to display the same glitchiness. Appears I have to stop all instances of chrome to clear it (or of course, restart the machine) Thanks!
