[Touch-packages] [Bug 1940545] Re: Update Mesa to mesa-21.1.7 on Ubuntu 20.04
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1956915 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956915 Hi Timo, >From https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1956915, I understood that Mesa 21.2.6 is backported to ubuntu0.1~20.04.1 and that is currently under 'focal-proposed', when we can expect that to be part of 'focal-updates' ? I tried upgrading it with "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:savoury1/display && sudo apt upgrade" for now as mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1956915. But the mesa package is not upgraded in my system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940545 Title: Update Mesa to mesa-21.1.7 on Ubuntu 20.04 Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: With the recent MR https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/9902 to Mesa, we (NVIDIA) have added ability to GBM to dynamically load the backends. So we request to upgrade mesa libs to its latest version (mesa-21.1.7) on Ubuntu 20.04 to use the added feature for our development. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1960254] Re: [Intel Nuc] Realtek ALC700 S/PDIF audio output not found
** Summary changed: - Intel Nuc Realtek SLC700 S/PDIF audio output not found + [Intel Nuc] Realtek ALC700 S/PDIF audio output not found ** Description changed: I have installed Ubuntu 21.10 on my Intel NUC8I7HVK. I can't figure out how to configure my SPDIF to connect to my speaker system. I have the correct mini-Toslink to standard cable and I can see the laser light coming from the PC, so it is not likely a hardware problem. - The NUC audio is Realtek SLC700. + The NUC audio is Realtek ALC700. Can anyone help me properly configure my audio to recognize my SPDIF digital output and support the 5.1 Dolby surround? - In pavucontrol i don't see any SPDIF output, headphones work fine. pavucontrol https://www.dropbox.com/s/csq8h8afbcin9xp/1Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-14%2012-12-23.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/kh6b49xc27zvx7o/2Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-14%2012-12-42.png?dl=0 Ubuntu Settings> Audio https://www.dropbox.com/s/tvdivkhfcx5g7mm/Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-13%2007-21-58.png?dl=0 Windows 10 Audio Device info: https://www.dropbox.com/s/myxdut9bjntw3xt/%C3%A4%C3%A4nikortti.PNG?dl=0 - Your ALSA information is located at http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=5944783d310a8a936e8de69132b60a2ca02577c7 - --- + --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu71 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: - USERPID ACCESS COMMAND - /dev/snd/controlC0: logman 1806 F pulseaudio - /dev/snd/controlC1: logman 1806 F pulseaudio + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: logman 1806 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC1: logman 1806 F pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-12-12 (56 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Release amd64 (20210420) Package: alsa-driver (not installed) ProcEnviron: - TERM=xterm-256color - PATH=(custom, no user) - XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= - LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + TERM=xterm-256color + PATH=(custom, no user) + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= + LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.13.0-28.31-generic 5.13.19 Tags: impish wayland-session Uname: Linux 5.13.0-28-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to impish on 2021-12-14 (55 days ago) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd nordvpn plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 05/28/2021 dmi.bios.release: 5.6 dmi.bios.vendor: Intel Corp. dmi.bios.version: HNKBLi70.86A.0067.2021.0528.1339 dmi.board.name: NUC8i7HVB dmi.board.vendor: Intel Corporation dmi.board.version: J68196-504 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Intel Corporation dmi.chassis.version: 2.0 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnIntelCorp.:bvrHNKBLi70.86A.0067.2021.0528.1339:bd05/28/2021:br5.6:svnIntel(R)ClientSystems:pnNUC8i7HVK:pvrJ71485-504:rvnIntelCorporation:rnNUC8i7HVB:rvrJ68196-504:cvnIntelCorporation:ct3:cvr2.0:sku: dmi.product.family: Intel NUC dmi.product.name: NUC8i7HVK dmi.product.version: J71485-504 dmi.sys.vendor: Intel(R) Client Systems -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960254 Title: [Intel Nuc] Realtek ALC700 S/PDIF audio output not found Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have installed Ubuntu 21.10 on my Intel NUC8I7HVK. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1960094] Re: lxc/1:4.0.6-0ubuntu1~20.04.1 undefined symbol: strlcat in Focal
I think the strlcat thing is a red herring or an indication that the test environment is somehow in a bad shape. This could be explained if there was two versions of liblxc on the system for example. Outside of that, I'm also seeing: ``` lxc-start tmp.KEpxw2rh0e 20220205081512.354 ERRORutils - utils.c:__safe_mount_beneath_at:1106 - Function not implemented - Failed to open 30(full) ``` Which isn't a test issue but an actual failure. It could once again come from a bad test environment with mismatching library/binary somehow, but if the test environment isn't the issue, then you have a kernel regression on your hands as that's not one of those transient test failures. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960094 Title: lxc/1:4.0.6-0ubuntu1~20.04.1 undefined symbol: strlcat in Focal Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Status in lxc package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in linux source package in Focal: New Status in lxc source package in Focal: Incomplete Bug description: There are failures in ubuntu_lxc regression tests on Focal/linux/5.4.0-99.112 sru cycle 2022.01.03 with the error lxc-create: symbol lookup error: lxc-create: undefined symbol: strlcat These errors did not appear on previous kernels in the same cycle and now have a few tests failing on all architectures and systems as of Feb 4th 2022 it seems. Can anyone help me properly configure my audio to recognize my SPDIF digital output and support the 5.1 Dolby surround? - In pavucontrol i don't see any SPDIF output, headphones work fine. pavucontrol https://www.dropbox.com/s/csq8h8afbcin9xp/1Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-14%2012-12-23.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/kh6b49xc27zvx7o/2Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-14%2012-12-42.png?dl=0 Ubuntu Settings> Audio https://www.dropbox.com/s/tvdivkhfcx5g7mm/Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-13%2007-21-58.png?dl=0 Windows 10 Audio Device info: https://www.dropbox.com/s/myxdut9bjntw3xt/%C3%A4%C3%A4nikortti.PNG?dl=0 Your ALSA information is located at http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=5944783d310a8a936e8de69132b60a2ca02577c7 --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu71 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: logman 1806 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: logman 1806 F pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 21.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-12-12 (56 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Release amd64 (20210420) Package: alsa-driver (not installed) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.13.0-28.31-generic 5.13.19 Tags: impish

I have the correct mini-Toslink to standard cable and I can see the laser light coming from the PC, so it is not likely a hardware problem. The NUC audio is Realtek SLC700. Can anyone help me properly configure my audio to recognize my SPDIF digital output and support the 5.1 Dolby surround? - In pavucontrol i don't see any SPDIF output, headphones work fine. pavucontrol https://www.dropbox.com/s/csq8h8afbcin9xp/1Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-14%2012-12-23.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/kh6b49xc27zvx7o/2Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-14%2012-12-42.png?dl=0 Ubuntu Settings> Audio https://www.dropbox.com/s/tvdivkhfcx5g7mm/Kuvakaappaus%202021-12-13%2007-21-58.png?dl=0 Windows 10 Audio Device info: https://www.dropbox.com/s/myxdut9bjntw3xt/%C3%A4%C3%A4nikortti.PNG?dl=0 [ 3.958528] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: autoconfig for ALC700: line_outs=1 (0x1b/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) type:line [ 3.958532] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: speaker_outs=0 (0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) [ 3.958534] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: hp_outs=1 (0x21/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) [ 3.958535] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: mono: mono_out=0x0 [ 3.958536] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: dig-out=0x1e/0x0 [ 3.958537] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: inputs: [ 3.958537] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: Internal Mic=0x13 [ 3.958538] kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: Internal Mic=0x12 ** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960254 Title: Intel Nuc Realtek SLC700 S/PDIF audio output not found Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have installed Ubuntu 21.10 on my Intel NUC8I7HVK. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1958812] Re: If apt installs snap package, then warn, because maybe i dont want snap package.
The format of the package is irrelevant for most end users, a warning wouldn't be helpful (quite possibly the opposite, it would make them think there is something wrong with the installation, when everything is working as intended). Advanced users can use apt to read the description prior to installing: $ apt show chromium-browser | grep Description Description: Transitional package - chromium-browser -> chromium snap And they always have the option to uninstall the snap afterwards if they really don't want it: $ snap remove chromium ** Changed in: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1958812 Title: If apt installs snap package, then warn, because maybe i dont want snap package. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1528921] Re: rsync hangs on select(5, [], [4], [], {60, 0}
@Miriam - thanks for the check of this case (FYI we are trying to recheck many old forgotten bugs). Seems this one is a great candidate for a fix now since we have a testcase, a fix and interested community. Given this is open for quite some time there is no need to rush it, but as time permits it would be great to come up with something to get this case forward. I agree that it thereby shall go onto our todo list and we will look for someone to work on it for a backport-try and a PPA for this. ** Also affects: rsync via https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11166 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to rsync in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528921 Title: rsync hangs on select(5, [], [4], [], {60, 0} Status in rsync: Unknown Status in rsync package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in rsync source package in Bionic: New Status in rsync source package in Focal: New Bug description: In the last few months my home directory backup stopped completing.
