Perhaps there should be an external login window, just like google
  login, to get 2fa working?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1604062] Re: too easy to trigger the apps switcher / spread on desktop

2016-12-11 Thread Olof Rydberg
The best would be to add it to the settings, make the behaviour optional
(like the hiding of the launcher in Unity 7), forgot to add that to my
post.

i liked this feature at first but now it's becoming super frustrating

unwanted ways. 2/3 times when i want to restart and i go with the
mouse on the indicator (top right) i trigger the spread, or when i
want to scroll a page that is semi maximized to the right (ctrl super
right), or when i'm playing neverball with the mouse etc

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1647696] Re: the app switcher and the app drawer are a bit laggy on MX4

2016-12-10 Thread Olof Rydberg
Opening the app switcher has become extremely laggy on mx4.

When opening it there's always (since ota-14) a great lagg, it happens
every time, which was not the case before the update. The scrolling is
also a bit laggy but at least for me the worst part is when I swipe it
open. Happens 100% of the times.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1604062] Re: too easy to trigger the apps switcher / spread on desktop

2016-12-10 Thread Olof Rydberg
Why would it have a edge trigger? For desktop usage there's Alt + Tab.

When there's no keyboard, swipe (touch screen) or use the launcher
(touch or mouse).

I have only tried desktop mode a few times with mouse and keyboard but
this was a problem.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1589149] Re: the two Hotspots buttons seem to disagree

2016-12-07 Thread Olof Rydberg
My experience with my mx4 is that most of the time the hotspot works
after a couple of attempts (almost always fails on first attempt) but
the last months it rarely show any indicator. It also, as stated earlier
by others in this thread, often stays active after turned off.

For me, the hotspot also seems to break wifi and only a reboot helps.
Flight mode also seems to break from time to time and it has only
happened for me after using the hotspot.

When i try to activate the hotspot using the menu that you can make appear
from above (the black-background one) it seems not to work (no hotspot and no
hotspot symbol on the top menu appearing).
If I open setting->hotspot, there the hotspot button is deactivated (not
green) while the hotspot button in the black menu is green.
It seems the button in the Settings if activated can really make the hotspot
work (and make the hotspot button in the black menu green) but the hotspot
button in the black menu seems to just do nothing (except cutting wifi)

On the meizu 4 with ota 11. I think the problem came with ota 11.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1497210] Re: [browser] There is no way to block adverts, web bugs and trackers in the web browser

2016-08-16 Thread Olof Rydberg
The browser app will never be good in my opinion without an adblocker.

Host blocking works well on Ubuntu Touch, no need to make / writable
more than temporarily. It isn't enough however. Some web sites deliver
the ads themselves through their site and for those sites host blocking
doesn't work. Considering the audience Ubuntu should be targeting, a
well working adblocker should be a no brainer and of high priority.

As a work-around, for now, you can install Privoxy and use that, this
works very well, for example see https://ubuntu-
phone.host1.webarch.net/wiki/Proxy_Web_Traffic -- of course this is
far from ideal for non-technical users.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1559512] Re: edge width should be configurable

2016-04-04 Thread Olof Rydberg
I would even say that the edge width needs to be configurable by the
user.

Personally I use a cover for my Meizu mx4 and the edges of the cover
gets in the way when i swipe.

It especially affects the gesture for the launcher and for swiping to
the home screen, which I perform successfully about 50% of the times at
best (I do the swiping with the thumb of my right hand).

The right side is easier for me but it's still not perfect. Removing the
cover is not an option for me.

Bug description:
On some devices, like arale or turbo, triggering edge gestures is
quite tricky. Increasing the width for edge gestures helps with that.
However, we can't generally increase the width because that would
cause false-positives on other devices like krillin or vegeta.

=> The edge width should be configurable so that a device-specific
width can be set in the device device tarball.

“options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi to /etc/modprobe.d

drivers! Thanks for the good work!
