[Touch-packages] [Bug 1549163] Re: Bluetooth headset HSP/HFP mode not working in Xenial
This bug is a serious issue for me. I am on Xenial and use my headset on a daily basis for audio meetings and most often selecting the HSP mode in the audio settings will not do anything and sometimes it randomly decides to work. I really hope this can be fixed soon on Xenial and that we are not forced to upgrade ubuntu for a fix since this is not going to happen in the company until the next LTS is out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1549163 Title: Bluetooth headset HSP/HFP mode not working in Xenial Status in HWE Next: New Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Using the 2/14 Xenial daily build, paired bluetooth headsets' do not work in HSP/HFP mode. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1654365] Re: Session dbus lauched by /etc/X11/Xsession.d/75dbus_dbus-launch dies immediately
Well, if I comment out "use-session-dbus" in Xsession.options, the problem goes away, so I can't see how that doesn't get run... The dbus-launch PID is replaced with upstart: phablet 2692 13.6 0.1 45948 3688 ?Ss 19:25 0:21 upstart --user It was fine so far because the session upstart dbus job launched a session dbus regardless. I expect to see the WiFi icon anytime while being connected to my WiFi network. Also, I expect to see all the WiFi networks around me (at least one other network with good reception and about 3 with bad reception). 4) What happened instead After waking up the laptop from suspend, there appears the ethernet icon (arrow symbols) instead of the WiFi icon. Also, in this state there are no other WiFi networks visible in the network-manager. However, the laptop is still connected with my WiFi and the connection works as usual. Using "service network-manager restart" in the console I can get the wireless icon back and all the other networks around me are visible again. /me is ignoring any irony for now Joshua just finally cleaned and handled a lot of bugs that were missed to have taken care of - thank you for that. That said if you come by hundreds of similar issues sometimes answers become rather short. And IMHO most of the time people don't even care as they used it as fire-and-forget bug report and fixed it 5 minutes later via a search engine leading mostly to askubuntu. If you want to start on this one to help you a bit more for complex merges I'd highly recommend (in fact I use it even for trivial ones) to follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Merging/GitWorkflow Seems somewhat doable: git diff old/debian | diffstat changelog | 58 control|4 iproute2.install |1 patches/1000-ubuntu-poc-fan-driver.patch | 65 + patches/1001-ubuntu-poc-fan-driver-v3.patch| 133 ++ patches/1002-ubuntu-poc-fan-driver-vxlan.patch | 177 + patches/1003-fix-variable-in-libnetlink.patch | 53 +++ patches/series |4 8 files changed, 494 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) That helps you doing the merge as well as the reviewer of your work. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1622686] Re: double header in 16.10
I installed Xenial daily, completed an oem-setup, installed humanity- icon-theme 0.6.10.1 and prepared the system. I confirm that the double header in oem-firstboot is fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to humanity-icon-theme in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1622686 Title: double header in 16.10 Status in humanity-icon-theme package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in humanity-icon-theme source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Status in ubiquity source package in Xenial: New Status in humanity-icon-theme source package in Yakkety: Fix Committed Status in ubiquity source package in Yakkety: New Bug description: [Impact] During install and oem-firstboot, the header bar at the top of the screen in Ubiquity is twice as tall as it should be on hidpi screens (looking like two normal sized header bars stacked on top of each other), and the blue a11y icon is double sized. This looks obviously incorrect and ugly and makes a bad first impression on users installing Ubuntu on a hidpi laptop or customers of Ubuntu OEMs booting new machines for the first time. Arstechnica commented negatively on this in their review of Dell's XPS 13: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/01/dells-latest-xps-13-de-still- delivers-linux-now-embraces-svelte-hardware/ Users of the Dell XPS 13 are affected as well as users of other brands of laptops with hidpi screens. System76 is temporarily carrying a patched version of Humanity to work around this bug. The a11y icon is double-sized because the version of Humanity shipping in Ubuntu doesn't support @2 hidpi scaling, which results in the header bar doubling its height. Because the header bar is drawn with CAIRO_PAD_REPEAT, the gradient is repeated so it looks like two bars stacked one on top of the other. The fix to the Humanity icon theme adds @2 hidpi support, which shrinks the icon and restores the header bar to its normal height. [Test Case] ISO install: 1. Grab an Ubuntu iso and proceed to install (not "try") Ubuntu on a computer with a hidpi screen. 2. Note the double-sized header and icon during install. - Using an iso with a fixed version of Humanity, the header and icon should look normal. OEM-Firstboot: 1. Grab an Ubuntu iso and do an oem-install on on a computer with a hidpi screen. 2. After installing, click the launcher icon to "Prepare for shipping to the end user" and reboot. 3. During oem-firstboot, note the double-sized header and icon during install. - To test the fix, install a fixed version of humanity before preparing the system for the end user. [Regression Potential] This patch affects the look of anything using the Humanity icon set. The look of Nautilus, and many other GTK apps will be affected. This is not a regression but fixes another bug and resolves a discrepancy between rendering of icons on hidpi screens vs lowdpi screens. The biggest risk for regression comes from the off chance that there is an error or omission in the index.theme files. Comparing icons on a broad range of applications and systems should catch this class of issues. If any issues with icons are found, check there. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1429899] Re: StateSaver should not restore when app launched from content-hub
This bug report seems to have been abandoned, as such I marked it Incomplete. ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to content-hub in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1429899 Title: StateSaver should not restore when app launched from content-hub Status in content-hub package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Testing the messaging-app state saving ability that we've been adding from this MR: https://code.launchpad.net/~tiagosh/messaging-app/state-saver2/+merge/250996 deb can be found here: http://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/generic-mediumtests-builder-vivid-armhf/1669/artifact/work/output/*zip*/output.zip The problem is, when the app is launched from the content-hub, the StateSaver still tries to restore it's previously saved state, but it should not and this causes problems. It should clear the state, the same way it does when launched via url-dispatcher. According to Ken, there are content-hub signals that StateSaver will need to listen to in order to know when the app is being launched by content-hub. To reproucde: 1) install the messaging-app deb from above 2) open messaging-app, swipe from bottom to create a new message 3) type some names in the recipient field, and type some message in the send field 4) do "kill -2 " to kill the messaging-app and save it's state 5) open camera-app and go to the photo roll 6) press "Share" from toolbar and select messaging-app from the list Expected results: - messaging-app should be displayed with a new page showing the photo as an attachment, and nothing else Actual results: - messaging-app shows the restored state from when it was last run (the values entered in Step 3 above) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/content-hub/+bug/1429899/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Test case] Install both kaccounts-providers and account-plugin-facebook: you'll get file conflicts for /usr/share/accounts/services/facebook-im.service and /usr/share/accounts/providers/facebook.provider. You might get other conflicts as well, but those are due to bug 1565772 (also nominated for SRU). [Regression potential] Minimal: the changed packages belong to the default KDE installation, and have already landed in Yakkety. Things appear to be working fine there: account creation is still possible under KDE, even after changing the file paths as per this fix. ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Status: In Progress => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1656551 Title: webbrowser only partially loads some https sites Status in Canonical System Image: Fix Committed Status in Oxide: New Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: The browser on my Ubuntu Phone (Meizu MX-4, OTA 14) does not open some https-secured sites correctly, such as https://www.amazon.com or https://www.amazon.de. The browser presents a warning about an invalid ssl certificate, although the certificate appears perfectly valid. It then presents the option to go back to a safe site or continue anyway. If I choose continue anyway, it starts to load the site, but never completes. After some time it stops loading and displays a rather incomplete version of the site. It is clearly composed of only some of the pages' elements and incomplete. The amount of the page that is displayed varies from time to time. It appears that transmission times out while loading the page. Test case: 1) Try loading https://www.amazon.com. Observe that webbrowser-app displays warning about invalid certificate, without any apparent reason. Chose "continue anyway". Observe, that the site is only incompletely loaded and unsable. 2) Try loading the web interface of my router: https://rkupper.no-ip.org/. This site uses a self-signed certificate, which is correctly displayed as a security risk. But self-signed certificates are a common use case on DSL or cable routers' web interfaces. Choose "continue anyway". You should see the login page of a fritz box router. Observe that the site is incompletely loaded and the login button does nothing at all. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1598300] Re: CUPS web interface stops responding after a while
An update to my post #36. I can now confirm that the problem is solved for me; cups no longer stops running after a few minutes, and once again I am able to access ,localhost:631 without the need to start cups running again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598300 Title: CUPS web interface stops responding after a while Status in cups package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in cups source package in Xenial: Fix Committed Bug description: after 6 minutes or so, cups is not responding. it do not produce error on the log, just stop working, worse, it exit with 0 ⌌—⌍ |root@cupsmachine :~# systemctl status cups | |● cups.service - CUPS Scheduler | | Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/cups.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)| | Active: inactive (dead) since ven. 2016-07-01 10:31:32 TAHT; 2min 16s ago | | Docs: man:cupsd(8) | | Process: 28686 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/cupsd -l (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)| | Main PID: 28686 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) | | | |juil. 01 10:30:01 appli-client systemd[1]: Started CUPS Scheduler. | ⌎—⌏ I got to launch it again, so I have finish with a cron job like */10 * * * * systemctl status cups.service|grep -q 'inactive (dead)' && systemctl start cups but it is a dirty solution. I have no idea of what make it stop. NB: I have seen problems related to apparmor, this machine has no apparmor package. [Impact] If you want to use the CUPS web interface in Xenial and therefore set "WebInterface Yes" in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, CUPS could auto-shutdown when it is idle and then an attempt to access http://localhost:631/ via a web browser fails. People get confused as other access to CUPS [Testcase] Take a CUPS setup on Xenial with no shared print queues and CUPS only listening on the domain socket. Activate the web interface via cupsctl WebInterface=Yes Now you are able to access the web interface via http://localhost:631/. Wait for some minutes without accessing CUPS until the CUPS daemon shuts down automatically. Try to open the web interface again and it will not work. With the fixed CUPS package CUPS will not auto-shutdown when the web interface is activated. [Regression Potential] Low, as we are removing a simple distro patch to get back to the original, upstream behavior.
