I'm really excited about this! I'm going to working on the review of the Pootle docs and the localisation of those. With a great product we need great docs so I want to go through those and make sure they are up-to-date for Pootle. Since Pootle is about localisation I really want to tackle the localisation aspect. If you feel like helping I'd love your input, you could. Read the docs and make notes of any issues or missing features. Localise the docs when I get that part up. Help me work out how we can consistently take localised screenshots. So hopefully I can get some help from you next week. See you soon! Julen. As this hack week has a certain housekeeping theme to it, you might consider adding a scheduled hour or two for an IRC moderated bug-scrub of Bugzilla. It's good to clear the cobwebs out of the tracker from time to time and I suspect there are a few dust-bunnies lingering in Bugzilla (there always are in even the tidiest of projects). Dwayne, You might be able to get some inspiration from looking at this FLOSSManuals text: http://en.flossmanuals.net/open-translation-tools/index/ Yes much of it is about tools besides Pootle and Translate Toolkit, but they are also covered. Even reading sections about other tools might give you ideas on how to improve the Pootle documentation. There is also a Chapter on translating images that might give you some ideas on the localized screenshots challenge. I can imagine two approaches to the screenshot challenge: 1) Setting up a little screenshot bot to run through all of the relevant langs and capturing and saving many individual screenshot images with lang-code prefixes or suffixes. Leveraging an accessibility tool like Orca for it's ability to automatically perform keyboard and mouse input actions that otherwise would require manual intervention is one possibility. It is my understanding that some people use ally tools in this way for automated testing development. The point is if you need to perform a repeated series of mouse and keyboard actions to get to the section of a program (or website) that you want to then act on (e.g. confirm lack of error message or take a screenshot), it is possible to script this series of mouse and keyboard inputs with a tool like Orca (or other tool). For example Dogtail https://fedorahosted.org/dogtail/ uses ally tools in this way for automated testing. 2) Or an alternative approach that is probably no less technically daunting.
