Re: [Trisquel-users] Anybody else having problem installing Trisquel? Corrupt mirror?
I vaguely remember changing from this to the FSF mirrors quite a while back.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Internet Censorship in Authoritarian Countries
Actually it is, it's just not enforceable.
[Trisquel-users] Trisquel Wallpapers/images
May seem a silly question but which folder are all the wallpapers/images for Trisquel stored ?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Internet Censorship in Authoritarian Countries
Systems with high security requirements shouldn't even be connected to a wide area network let alone the Internet.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Internet Censorship in Authoritarian Countries
As for the Countries Under Surveillance list, I would put Portugal and all the rest of the European and other Western countries on the list. We are all under (heavy)[1] surveillance[2] on the West. And, if you doubt it, try doing anything political. Concerning Tor, I urge you all to take a look[3] at what I've already written about it, in here. (If you're trying to evade surveillance on some small country that is not actually a US/UK protectorate, then it might be of some use. But, if you're trying to hide from the Big Brother in the West, forget about it.) --- 1. http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=230234#p230234 2. http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=101456.msg603918#msg603918 3. https://trisquel.info/en/forum/how-use-tor-trisquel#comment-26792 --- P.S. - The comment form in here used to explain how to add code to our comments - but I can't find that reference below the text window any more. How can I know, for example, how to add hyperlinks in here?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 6.0
The original poster does have a point in getting some type of update on 6. For those that contribute money to Ruben every month... are any of you worried in how your money is spent when he isn't giving you updates. He does owe you guys some faith that this project is still somewhat active. I have to agree - I contribute every month , not a lot but I'm an OAP so it would be nice if the developer did a sticky post occasionally (how much of his time does it take to post ?) to let us know what is happening.

[Trisquel-users] Trisquel 6 missed another deadline. Is this project dead?
Just curious yo. Wondering how the people that donate to the project are feeling with their blue balls. Peace.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Anybody else having problem installing Trisquel? Corrupt mirror?
I also hardcode the mirror.fsf.org server in my sources.list

Re: [Trisquel-users] Anybody else having problem installing Trisquel? Corrupt mirror?
I post this hoping that someone could understand Spanish and would translate it. I could do it tomorrow probably, but right now I'm overloaded with work. https://trisquel.info/en/forum/r%C3%A9plica-rediris-eliminada-problemas-con-apt-get-update
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 6 missed another deadline. Is this project dead?
Chill dude IT is the price that we all paid with our patience and freedom... Anyhow, the worst case of blue balls, lock down inside a M1A3 tank during three weeks of crazy and fanatical fighting at mop level 3 = chemical suit== and getting hit by 2 RPG rockets that ricochete at the hull, while the rest of the 3rd Cav division was capturing Baghdad... Yet, my blue balls survived, due to our training and Superior armor protection plates and of course LOTS OF PRAYING TO CALM DOWN THE jitter of blue balls..
Re: [Trisquel-users] Internet Censorship in Authoritarian Countries
You need to ask the central american and south american people how many love ones they have lost due to our precious manifest of supporting governments that eventually turn out to be dictators during the cold war era. Interesting comment. You ever wonder why we are so unpopular in the world today? Lets look at our history of interference of other countries affairs all in the name of democracy... A list of countries Mexico Guatemala Honduras San Salvador Nicaragua panama and the list keeps growing,

Re: [Trisquel-users] Internet Censorship in Authoritarian Countries
During the last summer Olympics there was a lot of censorship going on the web, because BBC own the transmission rights of the games not every one world widw was able to watch the live Summer Olympic games. Yet, the news was slow and the events were broadcast a day later in my location. For 5 monthly dollars, I was able to VPN encrypted, through the BBC firewall. My Ip address was routed, as I was in England via the VPN host local IP address. I was able to watch and enjoy the games live in my PC with no issues. Yet the cable companies had the same problems. In the other hands, some US web sites are censor to foreign nation viewers, to beat this around, you could use VPN... I still use tunnel bear.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Trisquel 6 missed another deadline. Is this project dead?
The final release is scheduled for today. The day is not over and, yet, the most used ISO (regular Trisquel for amd64) already hit the server. The deadline is met.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Ubuntu Fonts License
Is it then possible that you have the 4 freedoms, with these fonts themselves, in spite of Canonical's trademark policy combined with clause 2c?
[Trisquel-users] Tha next LTS version for Trisquel
Hi My name is Umeda Mitsunori. I'm Japanese. Sorry,I'm not good at understanding English. Please, use easy words, and, short sentence. By the way,I installed Trisquel 4.01LTS i18n. but,at this list,It seems to be actively post.I searched http://devel.trisquel.info/makeiso/iso/ by Google. But I can't understand this ISO image is NEW LTS version? And,when,I will be able to get New LTS version for i18n(I can install a Japanese environment)? -- UMEDA MITSUNORI m.um...@green.email.ne.jp
[Trisquel-users] Re : Ubuntu Fonts License
Oh! Then, there are developers who want their free software to not be recognizable after redistribution! :-) But, yes, I believe this clause does not make the license non-free. That said I am not a lawyer and I have not read the rest of the license.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 6 missed another deadline. Is this project dead?
Whoo-hoo! So does that mean I can attempt my in-place upgrade from 4.0 (the last LTS) now?
[Trisquel-users] Re : Trisquel 6 missed another deadline. Is this project dead?
Guys, I do not want to be too affirmative. No official announcement was made. However, the final release is supposed to happen today and, anyway, there is really nothing to fear. Many users have been running Trisquel 6.0 since its beta in November 2012. No big issue.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 6 missed another deadline. Is this project dead?
The blocker bug is a missing icon in Ubiquity. But indeed, after that is solved the final release will emerge.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Tha next LTS version for Trisquel
Like Magic Banana said, it is the next LTS. Every even number (4.0, 6.0, 8.0, 10.0) are LTS releases. The final release is scheduled for today. If you are able to wait a few more hours, you will get the official announcement.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Tha next LTS version for Trisquel
Thanks for your kindness! Yes, it is. It has just hit the server. There is no official announcement yet. Anyway, you should not fear burning the ISO and installing the system. Many users have been running this version since its beta in November 2012. No big issue. The i18n version should arrive soon. Notice you can easily get the same outcome using the currently available ISO: localizations can be added after the install. To do so, you only need to use the Language utility you will find in the System Settings. A few clicks later, you system will speak Japanese. [Trisquel-users] boot from usb stick
Hello, I have used the method in the following url to create a trisquel-modified.iso. http://trisquel.info/en/wiki/customizing-trisquel-iso I wrote trisquel-modified.iso in a cdrom and it boots fine without any problems. Then I used my usb stick and did the following. (The usb stick was having one FAT32 partition). dd if=trisquel-modified.iso of=/dev/sdb1 It wrote the contents of trisquel-modified.iso to sdb1. Then I tried booting from the usb stick, but it never boot. It is just showing the screen Loading the Operating System... and it stays there. Please help me to know, what is wrong here. Thanks.
