[Trisquel-users] Re : How simple/complex is your installation process?
You can export/import the list of installed packages with 'dselect' in a terminal. I executed 'grep passphrase /dev/sda1' because /dev/sda1 was my swap partition. I wrote "was" because, for some reason, 'sudo ecryptfs-setup-swap' never terminated (I waited hours) and I aborted it. As a result, I have no swap now. I will recreate one.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Free programs to play Go (Baduk/Weiqi/Igo)
Fuego looks good (although probably not as good as Pachi): https://sourceforge.net/projects/fuego/
Re: [Trisquel-users] How simple/complex is your installation process?
Why do you make a /home partition by hand since one is automatically made when only setting root and swap? So right after you get a failure message, you switch to a tty? I'll try that. If I can make this work, it's a huge time saver, thanks for the tip! The Pavel Kogan link still gives me a headache though, but it's non-vital stuff, I'll take my time and try to make it work.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How simple/complex is your installation process?
That's a fast and easy way to transfer a favorite list of programs, which I've already tried thanks to you. But now I'm willing to make an effort to write a small install script with --no-install-recommends as an option, and thus not having to install Synaptic. So you did grep yourpassphrase ? Or are there more parameters to put in ?
Re: [Trisquel-users] How simple/complex is your installation process?
Thanks SuperTramp, it indeed does look like the full disk encryption covers everything but /boot (by default).
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreboot Developer Leah Rowe Attack gnu and rms Again
https://libreboot.org/why-not-gnu/ "Your project will become associated with all of this, even if you personally dislike Richard Stallman." She endorses free software, but she hates RMS. It´s like being christian but hating jesus. You are free to follow him, or not. In life not everybody will be nice and friendly with you, and you have to accept that, that also applies for work. I think it´s enough. I don´t get the point of boycotting GNU and the FSF. Is easy to blame, but not to prove. I hope one day this problem resolves.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libreboot Developer Leah Rowe Attack gnu and rms Again
really? this is more ridiculous than hating GNU and developing free software, like Rowe. The most stupid thing is that all this problem is not about sth. that affected her. Involving feelings with the work may not be a good combination, specially is those feelings are negative.

KDE is very ''user friendly'' https://trisquel.info/fr/wiki/installer-lenvironnement-netbook-kde-plasma-dans-trisquel-7-gnome-3d-graphics
Re: [Trisquel-users] Need to Uninstall Trisquel
I checked fluxbox out, didn't like it much, removed it. It's good there's many choices.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Need to Uninstall Trisquel
Thanks. :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Need to Uninstall Trisquel
>how do I get your prefs file into the browser I suggest you read on each one, as my browsing experience is no js, so if you need to use that, or sign into websites that require third party cookies you won't be able, with those preferences in about:Config In your /home/misty/.mozilla/xh539vde(whatever)/ there will be a prefs.js. Open it with a text editor and add the lines you wish. gna!
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
I will wait one day, then I will install OS on MBR.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Free programs to play Go (Baduk/Weiqi/Igo)
Do you know about any other programs that I have missed?. Thanks.
[Trisquel-users] Free programs to play Go (Baduk/Weiqi/Igo)
Hello. What free software programs exist for playing the game of Go (engines, SGF editors, and Go server clients) that are actively maintained or at least usable?. As for engines, I know of Pachi and Michi. As for clients, I know of qGo. Another client, CGoban 1 has been long unmaintained; the last version is from 2002. There is also goGui which has been unmaintained since 2013. Regards.
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
PS : it doesn't hurt..
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
Nope :) ...who sang...anarchy in the ...??
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
Ok, I will use MBR. P. S. No free firmwares? Computers are evil.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Need to Uninstall Trisquel
yea the threads get squeezed, only fix I know is to lower the zoom Anyway how do I get your prefs file into the browser, I thought I knew how..
Re: [Trisquel-users] libreCMC Router
Chris from ThinkPenguin elaborated on this here: https://trisquel.info/en/forum/best-free-software-friendly-router. This is what he said: "I may have answered this already, but here is why we don't have the new models released. We're working on a dual-band 802.11n router. It's done. Problem is we need $$$. It's something like $30,000+ USD for just this one model which we don't have at the moment. Hopefully I'll pull the cash together shortly for it. There has been a lot going on and the profits on the new router will be seriously lower making it even more difficult to make work. The lower end router would be easier, but the work on that isn't complete. I should also point out that it's unclear right now... still... what is going to happen with the FCC when we go for certification. It can be certified and they can still fine you into non-existence. I don't support this sort of violence and theft, but there aren't enough people opposing mindless regulations and government in general as it stands. The solution to this immediate problem as I see it is to lock it down metaphorically. By that I mean we won't add digital restrictions, but we will be forced to remove upload/flashing functionality to comply with the rules. I probably can't say more without creating a legal issue. However the complete set of sources will be available and I'll leave it to your imagination what good that would be for a locked down device or a device for which there is no sane means to flash. Encouraging others to violate the law in other words would create a problem."
Re: [Trisquel-users] libreCMC Router
Why doesn't ThinkPenguin sell the non mini router with librecmc anymore?
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
https://libreboot.org/docs/hcl/index.html#supported_list You can want an encrypted MBR as much as you want but it won't happen unless the encryption is hardware-based (and I doubt there are free disk firmware, so I would not trust those): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware-based_full_disk_encryption I am pretty sure the same holds for a BIOS boot partition.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How simple/complex is your installation process?
>Well, hard to be easier Yeah :) to check do a lsblk, the swap partition should display something along the lines: ├─sda5 8:50 1.9G 0 part │ └─cryptswap1 254:00 1.9G 0 crypt [SWAP] cheers
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
I want to encrypt all partitions. I will not use BIOS passwords because this passwords can create problems with flashing Libreboot. P. S. Is default Libreboot supports UEFI?
[Trisquel-users] Re : How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
You cannot encrypt a MBR. But what is the point to encrypt a partition table or the code of a bootloader?
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to install GPT on BIOS & full disk encryption (with boot)?
Maybe, MBR?
