Yes, I know! Isn't it great?

It may be worth considering adding the N150 with the phone for the price, and
even adding a 64 GB micro-sd card. A preintalled screen protector would also
be a sweet addition.

Some extras like that may help potential buyers justify the price tag, and it
doesn't cost that much to add. It would look really cool on the website :)

Just wanted to give an update and a bit of thanks to Leah for always
responding energetically to any hiccups I've had. We've remained in touch and
she's sending me a replacement battery and wifi card so that my setup is the
best it can be. It's been great having a personal touch like this.

I've been enjoying the system. You couldn't keep me off it this past weekend!
Having this system, the most libre I've ever had, has really reminded me of
what empowerment we can have with our digital tools, especially when open and
not obfuscated by companies seeking to restrict and take beyond the initial
sale. The vibe is totally different. I don't have to feel suspicious about my
own computer LOL!

Thanks!
I will take a look at that. Had been reading around but didn't find that one.

Here's something -
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11453082/how-to-generate-a-2hour-long-blank-video

From the link :

" You can use ffmpeg for this:

ffmpeg -t 7200 -s 640x480 -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb24 -r 25 -i /dev/zero
empty.mpeg

-t: length of the video
-s: frame size
-f: video format
-pix_fmt: pixel format
-r: fps
-i: input "

[Trisquel-users] How to create a "ffalse lenght" for a video file?

2017-06-27 Thread gnuser

Hey guys.
I want to create an empty file (preferably in MKV format) that has a false
header so that if a media player opens it will think this is a 3 hour long
file.

Is it possible??
I will have mplayer dumping content into the file but I need the time to
already be estabilished.

Thanks

One more thing: Is it possible to change settings (or theme) in order to be
able to close an app by clicking e.g a cross in the tab? As for now I have to
right-click the tab and then click Cloe at the bottom.

Bear in mind that even though the LTS version T8 is based on is a year old it
will also be supported until 2021. That's a good long while down the road so
when it's finally done it will be a long time before absolutely needing
replacement.

I believe Trisquel is a mixed-use distribution which is meant to be used for
both a desktop and server. It is meant to be used by individuals, schools
and businesses alike. Many of it's users are looking for stability and
quality and not just the latest features.

Just my two cents.

Thanks. Now I've got right :-)

And I am so far very happy with xfce. I just have three more wishes for the
whisker menu, but to the best of my 'research' they are not easy (if even
possible) to solve:

1) Commands and search bar switch position, i.e. commands will be right under
the panel button

2) Recently used (apps) be moved or hidden

3) A recently used files category added.

I have read (on Stackexchange I think) about ideas for solving 2) and 3) but
if there is an actual solution, I don't understand it.h

Hi, im a native Spanish Speaker, and i think the english language its very
easy for learnning. It is a very beautyful and practical language, while the
spanish language is modified constantly according where in the earth you are
right now, there are no 2 neighbor towns speaking the exact same spanish.
Some this same reason it is a very large and rich language, you just need to
see how many Synonyms has the "Penis" word.
But yes, it is good that in my language "Gratis" and "Libre" are 2 different
words with different meannings.

Actually, the Debian installer prompts you for a firmware package to use. You
can download this package and supply it to the installer.

I did make a post about using Snaps to keep some packages up to date:

There are various ways Trisquel could run its own Snap store like this:
