Re: [Trisquel-users] Abrowser 72.0.1 won't load after update.
Thanks Chaosmonk, this work around worked for me too. Abrowser is back up and running again. But does having that value set to "false" mean that I won't be able to use free WiFi that relies on a connection portal instead of a WiFi password? That would be a real pain if and when I return to China.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Unable to boot
Is it possible for the OP (or an admin) to modify the title of this post to something more specific, and add "solved"? This could be helpful to other users who strike a similar problem and try searching the forums for help before starting a new thread.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abrowser 72.0.1 won't load after update.
I tried to access https://www.palemoon.org using both IceCat and Abrowser, both gave me this error: >> Secure Connection Failed >> An error occurred during a connection to www.palemoon.org. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). >> Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP
Re: [Trisquel-users] Abrowser refusing to launch after a recent system upgrade
Thanks for the pointer to the pre-existing thread, I did search for one before opening a new one, but failed to find it. Yes, the issue seems to be the same. When I start a guest session Abrowser launches as normal. The only add-ons I use are NoScript and uBlock Origin, but maybe one (or both) of them could have something to do with the problem?
Re: [Trisquel-users] how to get pixel-perfect image in low resolutions?
This issue is the main reason why I do not ever want to have or use 4k or higher screens. I like my pixels crisp and sharp. I am even considering buying a CRT monitor again. Love pixel 4 ever... <3 publickey - davidpgil@protonmail.com - 0x01EB3346.asc Description: application/pgp-keys signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

You have the patience of Job.
[Trisquel-users] how to get pixel-perfect image in low resolutions?
how to get xrandr (or maybe some other tool?) to use "nearest neighbour" approximation algorithm (or otherwise disable blurring) when (for example) 3840x2160 ("4K") screen is switched to 1920x1080 resolution? this reddit thread seems to describe a patch that allows to achieve it: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/5o1obf/is_there_a_way_to_force_nearest_neighbor_scaling/ but this patch seems to be abandoned...
Re: [Trisquel-users] Unable to boot
As you say the BusyBox ash terminal does not show fsck as a valid command BUT your advice of running "fsck -y /dev/sda5" worked perfectly. I do appreciate your help. Thank you very much. Re: [Trisquel-users] Light or Heavy
To Andy, Hello, Andy. I see you are a new member in this forum and I'm glad to see you. For you question, firstly our operating system is GNU/Linux, not only Linux, as the latter is a component and not the whole operating system. Secondly, I do not really grasp your wordings, did you mean you were looking for a lightweight GNU/Linux system to run FreeCAD? If that so, I can say that Trisquel 9.0 Etiona (yes, I am running 9.0 LiveCD to write this reply) will work well with your 3GB RAM and even better with the 4GB one and best with 7GB one. If you are learning FreeCAD, I recommend you to make friends with FreeCAD Forum https://forum.freecadweb.org which is a great community with thousands of posts already. From this forum, I believe you will be interested with 'Users Showcase' subforum[1]. Enjoy Trisquel! [1] Sample screenshot from that subforum:
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to set up the optical electric communication?
Why do you refer Debian. Here is Trisquel Users. OK, I will check it and report it after I prepared mie goreng.
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to set up the optical electric communication?
It's here. Right click "Network Connections" icon on the task bar and select "Edit Connections". Click the "plus" (+) button and select "DSL/PPPoE" from the drop-down list. (Blobless) Debian unstable with MATE 1.22.2
Re: [Trisquel-users] How to set up the optical electric communication?
Where is the PPPoE. Anyway I will check it later and report it.
