Re: [Trisquel-users] Wanna start contributing code? Ask your question here
I'm agree. Trisquel is an important distro, I was surprise when I knew that Trisquel only has one Hacker. This idea is opposed to the idea of a community and free software. I'm programmer, and I would like to contribute to Trisquel, but I'm feeling bad, because I can not do anything. I need to study how can I help in the project, but documentation is insufficient. I've never do the job to maintener a package in a distro, but I would love to do it. It would be an honor to be a hacker in Trisquel project, but I don't know how to start. In this case, it would be good that Rubén open the project to the community.

Re: [Trisquel-users] a forum or subforum dedicated only to code contributors.
I a agree with you Salman. I would be delighted if you were my mentor. Thank you for all.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Wanna start contributing code? Ask your question here
Hi. I have install Ubuntu using virt-amager. GLAMP is on Ubuntu 16 with tasksel. In packager helper it's ok, it's using sed to change some thinks but not any task. What is the problem? :O
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wanna start contributing code? Ask your question here
Thanks Salman. I don't understand how can I add webserice in this file. Can you give me an example please? I need a teacher :-D
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wanna start contributing code? Ask your question here
Hi Mangy Dog. I can install GLAMP server without tasksel, but I think that using tasksel the users can install it in one step. ;-)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wanna start contributing code? Ask your question here
Hi Salman. >Why do you want to do that? In Flidas (Trisquel 8), webservice option in tasksel does not appear.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Wanna start contributing code? Ask your question here
Hi. I would like to add webservice at tasksel to Trisquel 8, but I don't know how. I read about in Trisquel's wiki without success. How can I help with it? Thanks!
[Trisquel-users] Big problem with Router R841N

Re: [Trisquel-users] Help with modify a package
Thanks Magic_Banana. I already read this documentation, but it's so difficult to me.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Help with modify a package
Thanks Soon.to.br.Free! I'm learning about it, but I've a question. Where are the trisquel package files to read it?. If I change "make-tasksel" I need to know the source of files. In this case, with make-tasksel, I don't know how I can add web-service task, in fact, I don't know how works tasks in trisquel. I understand that Trisquel gets the files from ubuntu source, but, in what moment the packages has changed?. I need a teacher :D, or anyone that create a video to explain how change a simple package or add a new package, and it is possible in spanish :P. Thank you!
[Trisquel-users] Help with modify a package
Hi. I would like to modify tasksel package in Trisquel 8, because I need to add web server as in Trisquel 7. I'm reading https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/package-helpers . I created a folder named "src", and then I get the source with "apt-get source tasksel". This one downloads the source, but I don't understand how that it works, and I don't know that package-helperers how works. Can anyone help me with an example or explain me how can I modify a package for helping Trisquel project? Thanks!

[Trisquel-users] O.S. Trisquel Host Server
Hi! I've a question, but I don't know how I can find it. What is the OS has Trisquel for the system packaging and web? Thank you!
Re: [Trisquel-users] O.S. Trisquel Host Server
Thank you jxself!! I asked this, because in spanish forum I defended the real free software. https://trisquel.info/es/forum/no-debian-no-es-una-distribuci%C3%B3n-libre#comment-107154 I said that the libre software is a ethical question, not a practical, so Debian is not a libre distro. I've been fear that Trisquel use Debian in their host web or repos.
Re: [Trisquel-users] First development alpha iso images of Trisquel 8.0 "Flidas"

axgb wrote: When you say I am contributing to non-free software, do you mean the £30 microsoft got for my windows 8 licsense? I think he means more that when you buy hardware that makes no effort to work with free/libre software, companies have no incentive to fix the problem.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Question on using AGPLv3 for JavaScript files on a web page
The way JavaScript works is: - The web page points to a JavaScript program. - Your browser transparently downloads that JavaScript program, temporarily installing it into the browser. - Your browser executes the JavaScript program where the web page specifies it should. JavaScript code gets executed on your computer, not on a remote server.[0] So in effect, the GNU AGPL is exactly the same as the GNU GPL for these programs. Now, for your actual question: the various JavaScript files are generally several different programs that just happen to be loaded by the same web page. It's basically the same situation as having several different programs installed in your OS: a bunch of unrelated programs are perfectly able to coexist on the same computer, regardless of license restrictions. For example, software under version 2 of the Apache License can be on the same system as software under version 2 of the GNU GPL (see Android, for example; the kernel Linux is under the GPLv2, while much of Android's userland is under the Apache License version 2). Similarly, if a web page uses one JavaScript program under the AGPL, that doesn't mean that some other JavaScript program it loads is also under the AGPL. [0] There is such a thing as JavaScript code being server-side, but I don't think it's very common.
[Trisquel-users] New User Needs Help Setting Up Wireless
Hello everyone. I've installed Trisquel 4.5 on a laptop which previously had Windows 7 installed. The problem I have at the moment is I can't seem to get the Wireless adaptor working. I have a Ralink rt2860 adaptor and I know the website has the drivers with full source code available but I'm not sure how I would go about installing them. output of ifconfig: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 2c:27:d7:ca:8e:81 inet addr:192.168.2.102 Bcast:192.168.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::2e27:d7ff:feca:8e81/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:60744 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:45120 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:74868857 (74.8 MB) TX bytes:5201770 (5.2 MB) Interrupt:42 Base address:0x2000 loLink encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:20 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:20 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:1200 (1.2 KB) TX bytes:1200 (1.2 KB) output of iwconfig: lono wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. output of lspci: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub (rev 07) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) 00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #6 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev 93) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation ICH9M LPC Interface Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation ICH9M/M-E SATA AHCI Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.6 Signal processing controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) Thermal Subsystem (rev 03) 02:00.0 Network controller: Ralink corp. Re: [Trisquel-users] New User Needs Help Setting Up Wireless
This is what I get when I run lspci -nnk: 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Ralink corp. Device [1814:5390] Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:1636] So following from your comment then [103c:1636] should be the device ID I need to look for on the 'net. I'll keep you posted.
Re: [Trisquel-users] New User Needs Help Setting Up Wireless
I followed the instructions in this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1751348 and it still doesn't seem to work. I'm fairly certain the drivers compiled and installed but when I did a reboot nothing happened. I installed wifi-radar and when I ran the program it didn't pick up the Wireless device automatically and I was unable to set it manually (the dropdown box was greyed out). I'll keep searching online.
