Re: [Trisquel-users] Libre Office Not Showing Text
It appears it is the Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.4, 256 bits)
Re: [Trisquel-users] Documentation Messed Up
It appears that when I am making my correction the body box continues to use a word break and it messes up the syntax of the code.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Unable to connect to Wifi network
I purchased the Penguin Wireless N USB Adapter (TPE-N150USB) from ThinkPenguin and it worked for me without any issue. I had to do this because my Lenovo Ideapad Y400 restricted the replacement of the Intel Centrino-N 2230 and I didn't want to mess with all the whitelisting mess. The only thing I do have to say is that ThinkPenguin charged me $7 for shipping and when I received it, I could clearly see that it only cost them $1 to send it. I tried contacting the company asking why they charge a ridiculous amount for shipping but to no reply. I have owned several online businesses, and I found that to be crazy that they would charge that much for shipping. But either way, the product did work. I guess the cost of freedom was way more expensive then I wanted to be, but well worth it. Which by the way Tehnoetic sells the same product as well as their TET-N150. They, however, charge €35 and are based in Romania, which wasn't feasible for me since I live in the states. Both products are produced by Unex as the DNUA-93F with the Atheros AR9271 chipset.
[Trisquel-users] Libre YouTube?
Has there been any effort to create a YouTube like service for the FSF? I hate going to YT to view Stallman's speeches and such but I haven't found anything that would enable me to view those type of videos. If there isn't one we should make one. But of course we would need to make sure that there is no JS, Flash, etc and only provides ogg and webm formats. I would like to see a collection of videos put together in a better format than that of the Audio-Video from GNU.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Documentation Messed Up
Nice. Thank you. I don't know what happened. But all the syntax looked right.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libre Office Not Showing Text
Yes I have even apt-get removed it and reinstalled the new libreoffice 5 but still doesn't show text at the top. I'm thinking it is a theme issue, but still can't figure it out. I have tried changing the themes, but to no avail. Its a really weird bug that I can't seem to even capture by screen-shot.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libre YouTube?
What do you mean by SaaSS? I am referring to a site exactly like YouTube but doesn't use JS and only webm and ogg formats and other Free software. It would be something similar to MG but enabled for any FSF user to upload as well. Basically creating a new free software YouTube. I hope I am making sense. Hard to explain other than that.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libre YouTube?
Yeah, it looks like goblin refuge is similar to what im talking about...
Re: [Trisquel-users] Libre YouTube?
Thank you. This is the answer that I was looking for. This gives me a better idea of what I need to do. I don't plan on implementing this at this moment but getting different ideas on how to contribute more to the Free Community.
[Trisquel-users] Terminal Split Windows
I do a lot of html coding and was wondering if there was a way to split the terminal windows horizontally. It only seems to allow a minimize/maximize function.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Terminal Split Windows
Yes, I am using nano. So I guess the question refers to terminal window splitting.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Terminal Split Windows
I installed tmux and created a new session, but the ctrl-b % doesn't seem to work for me...
Re: [Trisquel-users] Terminal Split Windows
Yes. I have the green bar at the bottom and i press Ctrl+b+% and it doesn't split the screen. Am I doing something wrong?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Default C Compiler
That's the thought that I had. If you need gcc, it is a simple apt-get away.
[Trisquel-users] Libre Office Not Showing Text
I was messing around with the theme packages in the Tweak tool and now I can't read the LibreOffice options at the top of the application. It appears that when doing a print screen it shows the texts, but I can't see it when viewing it. Has anyone had this issue?
[Trisquel-users] Default C Compiler
I noticed that gcc nor cc was default as a c compiler... Is this correct or did something happen with my install? I simply installed gcc, but was curious why it isn't installed by default. Is this to decrease the install file?
[Trisquel-users] Are all Atheros Wifi cards libre?
I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y400 and have recently switched to solely Trisquel, which consequently disabled my Intel Centrino N 2230 because it runs on proprietary firmware. I was curious if all of the Atheros mini pci-e wifi cards would be compatible.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Icecat 31.7.0
I have been trying to find the repo for IceCat, is it still unavailable? Also I tried installing from source but kept getting error after error. As of this moment is there any easy way to install? I have heard a lot of hype for this browser, but everyone seems to be having issues installing.
Re: [Trisquel-users] GNU IceCat vs Abrowser
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/belenos I have changed the link for IceCat being default to Abrowser.
[Trisquel-users] Unlinking Shortcut in Bottom Main Bar
I put a couple of shortcuts on the bottom bar of the desktop, but can't seem to find the remove option. I have also tried dragging off and into trash. Is this a current bug?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Unlinking Shortcut in Bottom Main Bar
It is still a little buggy, I had to try several times for it to register to put up the option to remove. But I was able to get it done. Thank you.
Re: [Trisquel-users] GNU IceCat vs Abrowser
Oh, nevermind. I was able to click the link on the front page of Abrowser to install icecat. Why have Abrowser at all? The Trisquel website pronounces that IceCat is installed by default, but it isn't. Can someone shed some light on this?
[Trisquel-users] Is There A Project to Create a Getting Started Guide?
I think this would be beneficial to those who are coming over to Trisquel. Are there any projects trying to resolve this? If so, I would like to help.
Re: [Trisquel-users] GNU IceCat vs Abrowser
Thank you for the replies. Curious though that IceCat is official GNU software but not distributed on the Trisquel package manager when Trisquel is backed by GNU. I will just have to install via binary or repo.
[Trisquel-users] GNU IceCat vs Abrowser
I just downloaded Trisquel and noticed the default browser was Abrowser and not IceCat. Why? Where did IceCat go?
