All of your posts on these topics amount to commanding folks to keep the law of Moses, (regardless of the language in which it happens to be couched) else they will be judged for it. The Holy Ghost must have really pulled a fast one on the Gentiles (if we are to listen to you). [TruthTalk] The Ten Commandments

2003-11-14 Thread David Miller
I have returned from Montgomery, Alabama to find you all still
discussing the Commandments of God and our obligation to them, yet I
have not read one word about Justice Roy Moore. Are we all asleep in
the light? The man was just fired from his position as Chief Justice
over this issue. Do any of you care?

To any of you who might be interested in discussing this current event,
I want to state my position that I support Roy Moore fully. I told him
so in person in Montgomery. Inside the courthouse, I watched his entire
trial, and outside on the courthouse steps, I preached the message of
repentance for ordering this Chief Justice to disobey three of the Ten
Commandments. I preached at the Alabama Supreme Court and I preached at
the Federal Courthouse that ordered the Ten Commandments to be removed
from public view and locked away in a closet. If any of you are
interested in discussing this, please let me know.

Peace be with you.
David Miller, Beverly Hills, Florida.

Re: [TruthTalk] The Ten Commandments

2003-11-14 Thread Terry Clifton

I don't mind discussing this issue David.  You did what you felt called to do.  That is admirable.  You are to be commended for your obedience and for acting on your beliefs.  Having said that, I would point out that I felt no such calling, so I was not inclined to go there.  I feel not the least bit guilty for my inaction.  When the Holy Spirit leads me, I move.  When men try to lead me, I generally back off.

At the risk of causing old ladies to faint and young men to get out the tar and feathers, let me say that I feel that the ten commandments are outdated by about two thousand years.  They do command you to love God, but they do not teach you to love your fellow man.  They would lead you to consider Saturday to be a special day, but would never teach you to love your enemy.

Unless you are a Jew trying to find favor with God by your works rather than by a relationship with Jesus Christ, they are of limited value.  They can condemn your behavior, they can convict you of your sin, but they cannot save you.  No one has ever even kept the first one for any length of time.
All they can do is show you what a miserable failure you are at attempting righteousness on your own.

When judge Roy gets set to proclaim the two commands Jesus said cover all the law, I will be the first to support him.

In the meantime, don't feel too bad for him.  I got a hunch that judge Roy will be Governor Roy when the next opportunity presents itself.
Respectfully,
Terry

[TruthTalk] Chuck Spignola

2003-11-14 Thread Judith H. Taylor

Below is a short excerpt from the website that should be
enough
to demonstrate that the 'spirit' of Spignola is not the
spirit of Christ.

Grace and Peace,
Judy

Spignola is about an open advocacy of enforcing God's law
through violence. To him, those defying His law shall be put to death. He broke
from Brother Jed recently because Jed did not defend Dennis Malvasi a person who
spent time in jail for bombing an abortion clinic, and is currently in jail
facing charges of helping James Kopp, the person charged with killing abortion
doctor Bernard Slepian. Spingola's list of the condemned has meant homosexuals,
abortion supporters, Episcopalians, etc. At a event in Virginia sponsored by
like-minded individuals, he reinforced this belief. "My wife used to say 'Honey,
do you believe all homosexuals should be put to death?'" he told the crowd. "I
said 'No, dear, you get about a half a dozen of the activists, you kill them and
the rest of them will go back in the closet.'" During a Bible Study at his home,
Spingola reiterated his statement, defending it with Leviticus 20:13.
His anti-choice stance on abortion is met with the same approach. When
he demonstrates outside an abortion clinic in Columbus, he is seen often with a
sign reading, "Whoso sheddeth Man's blood by Man shall his blood be shed."
Outside the clinic, he has continually made threats against staff and patients
shouting once "You are going to pay dearly for what you're doing. Don't say we
didn't warn you." Spingola corresponds routinely with those in jail for engaging
in violence at clinics, as well as with others who support the practice. He is
close to Michael Bray, who heads up the terrorist outfit Army of God, the group
that sponsored the banquet Spingola spoke at, and is the main group that people
look at when it comes to pro-Christian violence.

After reading my post again, I realize that it came across a little
different than I meant it. I do not fault you for not being there in
Montgomery, and I certainly do not mean to make you feel guilty. Sorry
if I came across that way. It just seemed to me that with all the talk
about the Ten Commandments, this situation with Roy Moore was most
relevant and important to the discussion at hand.

You said not to feel so bad for Moore. I don't. I admire the man. He
has become a kind of hero in my eyes. Roy certainly needs our support
and encouragement and prayers, but the real disgrace here is that not
one of the nine judges that convicted him understood what it means to
keep an oath. We also have an Attorney General there who has been
nominated for the U.S. Supreme Court who likewise does not understand
what it means to take an oath.

I walked around the city of Montgomery and found various plaques and
images and statues erected to various men and women in history. None
acknowledged God, but one large plaque about the civil rights movement
had a small Bible in the center. It was here in this sea of secular
humanism that the order came to put God's Ten Commandments in the closet
so nobody could see it. The order came from a Federal Judge in a
courthouse with a cornerstone that has engraved upon it, "William
Jefferson Clinton." The centerpiece of this federal courthouse is an
image of a Greek god. The order came from this building to put the Ten
Commandments in the closet where nobody can see it.

Peace be with you.

Chuck is a former TruthTalk member and we have discussed the kill
abortionist doctrine here in the past. I think Chuck may have been a
member when he punched that homosexual who attacked him while he was
preaching. In any case, while I strongly disagree with the doctrine of
violence which he has, be careful not to judge a man by what others say
about him.

Just for the record, I have a love for Chuck and his wife Teresa, and I
have preached with Chuck on a number of occasions. He has stayed at my
home while on preaching tours too. Please pray for him, because he is a
mighty warrior for Christ, a true zealot, but I fear he might be a bit
misguided now by the growing Kill Abortionists Cult.

By the way, one of the men who went to the execution of Paul Hill,
Stephen Jordi, was arrested just a few days ago for planning to bomb
abortion clinics. You can read more at:
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/local/7249996.htm

His pastors turned the police onto the man. Read about this at:

Peace be with you.

David,

I saw
Roy Moore on Fox News and today interviewed on Focus on the Family.  This
is one of those situations that is so disturbing that I can hardly bear to
think about it--I just get so angry I can't deal with it. There doesn't seem to
be much to discuss about it.  It is just another symptom of a fallen
nation. (Just like the not guilty verdict for Robert Durst, or whoever it was
that admitted that he killed and butchered his neighbor and disposed of his
body in the river.) I watch the news and see Abercromby clothes catalogs full
of teenaged orgies, see rappers who are rich and famous for spewing violence
and filth while they grasp their crotch like they've got a bad case of clap,
and listen to "leaders" in America lying blatantly, and defending
partial birth abortions, etc, etc, and I just can't deal with it all.  I
can understand how some folks go over the edge and try to rectify things
violently. I've waited patiently for God to rectify a gross wrong in our own
family situation, and so far evil continues to prevail.  Where is God when
you are waiting? It is purely
exasperating.

 On
Fox News they showed Moore announcing (after the verdict) that in
about a week he will make an announcement that may change America.  What
do you think that could be? Maybe he will call down God's judgment? Seems like
that is inevitable anyway. Anyway, all I've been able to do is pray for God's
will for him.  It seems like a subject too intense to even try to discuss.

It
may be that the Lord called him to do this just as the last straw before all
hell breaks out. I mourn that there is no "New World"
that we can escape to like our Puritan ancestors did.  Will just have to
look forward to the New Jerusalem.

Subject: [TruthTalk] The Ten Commandments

I
have returned from Montgomery, Alabama to find you all still

discussing
the Commandments of God and our obligation to them, yet I

have
not read one word about Justice Roy Moore.  Are we all asleep in

the
light?  The man was just fired from his position as Chief Justice

over
this issue.  Do any of you care?

To
any of you who might be interested in discussing this current event,

I
want to state my position that I support Roy Moore fully.  I told him

so
in person in Montgomery.  Inside the courthouse, I watched his entire

trial,
and outside on the courthouse steps, I preached the message of

repentance
for ordering this Chief Justice to disobey three of the Ten

Commandments.
I preached at the Alabama Supreme Court and I preached at

the
Federal Courthouse that ordered the Ten Commandments to be removed

from
public view and locked away in a closet.  If any of you are

interested
in discussing this, please let me know.

Peace
be with you.

David
Miller, Beverly Hills, Florida.
