[tslug] Club activity this year?

2004-08-31 Thread Peter Snoblin
So, to further and extend Caleb's previous question, what's up with this
year? I ask both in terms of projects as well as regular meetings. I
assume (and hope!) that we'll have weekly or every-other-week meetings
again, as well as an install fest or two or three. So, I guess what I'm
asking in another way is this, "Who's in charge 'round these parts?" ;)

Hopefully, I'll see some or all of you around in the next few days.

Hello,

I am sorry that my question is out of the purpose of the group but I
think you would be able to give me the most competent answer. Are there
any GSM carriers covering Kirksville and if there is does anyone of you
use a GSM cell phone? THank you

I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to that question.

2004-08-31 Thread Justin West
I use a GSM phone in kirksville that is from my AT&T Wireless carrier
back in St. Louis. However, I get "311 40" listed instead of my "AT&T
Wireless" network display showing whose tower I'm connected to.

Also, I have yet to know whether or not I'm going to have to fight AT&T
on my bill for some outrageous charges for using this network.

If anyone knows what the "311 40" cell network is from, let me know.

Thanks,
Justin West

'hope you guys had a good summer.
Caleb and I were talking on Sunday and there is no doubt that tslug has
to get started again -- and it will. So far I tried to talk to Dr.
Bindner regarding the most trivial thing on earth -- that is where do
we get the keys from for the room. He wasn't there but I left a
note...so far no response...

Despite the fact that we don't know where to meet right now, there is
no doubt that there will be activities coming up. Just by working for
faculty on an open-source project right now, I got a little impression
again of this messed up situation here on campus when it comes to
open-source. Without tslug that is not going to change... tslug is
going to continue to make its contributions.

I'll check into a room. I suggest we schedule a meeting for
Wednesday at 6:30pm, and I'll verify that we can get space.
As to keys, MTCS faculty can open 1232 and 1220. We can also get
Public Safety to open rooms for meetings if we arrange it ahead.

I don't think we need a topic. Rather, I think the focus should
be greeting new members and answering questions. I believe the
president took this semester off, so picking a new leader should
be on the agenda.
