I sprung for it. I was absolutely flabbergasted and stunned and
amazed. It is a whirlwind 32 minutes, which, despite knowing the
backstory, is worth listening to. You can tell from the tone in her
voice that she's unsure about what she's doing even while she's doing
it. The payoff comes from an anonymous man about 22 minutes in (you'll
know exactly what moment I'm talking about when you hear it).

Louis C.K. was right. This is comedy at its finest. Spend the $5. You
won't be disappointed.

If you like Steven Wright, Mitch Hedberg, Todd Barry, and similar deadpan

you'll take that Largo set. I've not tried to listen.

It's no particular secret that some networks do on-the-fly sweetening on
sports events to make the crowd sound bigger, just like awards shows and
reality comp talent shows do on-the-fly sweetening--although I suspect that
the Canadians don't do it. Which network televised the Lions game last
year?

Not just to make the crowds seem bigger. ESPN more than once had to cut off
the crowd mics and insert artificial sweetening at my alma mater's football
games because we weren't afraid to use a well-known barnyard epithet to
describe decisions by the officials that we disagreed with.

Fox had it. Because both traditional Thanksgiving home teams are in NFC
markets, one of the games is always an interconference game so CBS has a game
to televise. They alternate who has the AFC team each year.

The other prime candidate is Mark Shapiro, who ran ESPN into the

Of course, if Zucker is the man, he will be hated by both the far right

that CNN has become Fox Lite and will probably think that he'll keep things

I remember an Orange Bowl (in 2004, I think) which had Ashlee Simpson doing
a halftime performance. This was a week or two after her SNL lip-sync
incident and she was booed throughout her appearance in a way the broadcast
could not hide. It was fascinating to watch with the announcers ignoring
the booing.

TSN would have to anticipate the booing in order to cover it up on the fly
and as Bieber is possibly the most popular recording act right now they had
no reason to anticipate it. It's also possible that some non-Bieleber(s)
tweeted that they booed him and that everybody booed him but they were
drowned out.
