[TYPO3-english] sr_feuser_registration - token problem

2011-03-14 Thread horace grant
hi,

a while ago i used sr_feuser_registration (i think it was 2.5.25) and
everything worked fine (except that it is a very cumbersome extension -
especially if you need custom fields).

the recent days i worked on a new website with the current
sr_feuser_registration version and i have a problem.

there is some kind of token in the url now and this causes that instead of
the create page the user often just sees not a member yet? click her to
register. especially if he uses the back/forward button of the browser for
some reason. this looks a bit unprofessional.

how could this be avoided? what is this token used for? is this some
security fix?

cheers,
horace

Main disadvantage is that you're not able to use T3editor with syntax
coloring... so... if you feel pretty well with TSref it's no problem.

This model is quite good, when there is some team that should have
'mirrored' configuration for their local - development environments.

On the other hand, when I'm working alone on projects I prefer to store
templates in DB.

Finally, in case of subtemplates (that Ivano is asking in some post
below) there is possible to use TS conditions to make individual
configuration on the chosen part of tree only.

ie.:

[PIDinRootline = 123, 345]
page.10
page.10  plugin.tx_someplugin_pi1
page.10.code = SINGLE
[global]

Forget everything what is lower than 4.5 or even lower than PHP 5.3
People should simply update!

We have 4 people quite interested in participating too as they just build
the big huge site and it is very exciting to setup 400 pages in only 4 days
and we are nearly finished.
right now we get also the ks_sitemgr working in this setting - as we can't
use the screen we used spreadsheets - works fine until now.

Lets get together and make a plan (PM and than over forge of course)

I'm wondering if it's because your rootpage_id isn't set.

No - I have it set. You can see it in the conf, that I provided:

'rootpage_id' = '1',

Also, don't forget the www.example.com domain if needed.

$TYPO3_CONF_VARS['EXTCONF']['realurl']['www.example.com'] =
$TYPO3_CONF_VARS['EXTCONF']['realurl']['example.com'];

It is also there - at the very bottom of my configuration.

I agree partly. Upgrading to 4.5 LTS should be the top priority. However
4.5 still only requires PHP 5.2 meaning if you code for 4.5 LTS you
should really avoid PHP 5.3 features, at least still for a few months
because most hosting companies did not yet upgrade their servers with 5.3.

Of course if you don't care about having the broadest audience for your

unfortunally DAM already broke this as they require 5.3.

2011-03-14 Thread Andreas Becker
Well Xavier

This is exactly what I suggest - no more 5.2 and looking back. It takes
minutes to update the servers and it takes hours to take care also for this
old stuff.
It is a new extension and it should look forward not backward especially as
we need servers with high performance to run those bigger sites where this
extension is actually needed. Those sites which are using this extensions
are those from Kay and perhaps some otherones like us but only very few
right now and they will update. All others would be able to use this
extension if they have PHP 5.3+ installed! and as Steffen just commented DAM
already does what we suggest!

We switched all our servers and those of 2 customerAgencies on last saturday
and sunday. Now all running Debian6, MySQL version 5.1.49, Apache version
2.2.16, PHP 5.3.3-7, Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 on x86_64

So updating servers is really not a big issue and especially Hosting
Companies should do this in regular steps.
You can i.e. follow these steps here:
http://www.debianroot.de/allgemein/debian-lenny-auf-squeeze-upgrade-anleitung-1276.html

They work out just perfect (on a Hetzner Server - can't say if others will
work same way as we updated those mentioned servers here)

@ Steffen

Hi Steffen it would be great if you could check this mentioned patch and
release a new be_acl - we applied it and it is working. Than the patch would
be also for those a benefit who don't know how to apply it.

Thanks a lot

2011-03-14 Thread Andreas Becker
Hi

Actually it is also good for business to recommend your customers to
switch NOW to
a newer version of TYPO3 and with this move it is the optimum for you and
the customer when you simply update all your server stuff. now they'll still
get 3 Year LTS while when they wait until next year or even later they will
need another switch much more earlier than 3 years.

Combine it like we do with a three years full service package and it will
work! Especially after those multiple updates and upgrades in the last year
where customers saw that a 3 year periode is the best they can get if they
start at the beginning of this periode with an updated site. We just got two
more people who still have 3.8 and one even 3.6.1 running and now want to
switch because of the 3 years continuance in the TYPO3 support for this
version. The LTS is a realy good selling argument for the next half year but
no more actually much later as there won't be any three years left!

[TYPO3-english] tt_address and userFunc to generate realURL?

2011-03-14 Thread Martin Mädler

Hello,

I'm using my own template to output the address data.
My TS looks something like this:

plugin.tx_ttaddress_pi1 {
  templates.address_list
  templates.address_list {
wrap = p|/p
first_name.wrap  = em|
last_name.wrap  = |/em
# ...
  }
}

and the template roughly looks like this
!-- ###TEMPLATE_ADDRESS### beginn --
div class=vcard
###FIRSTNAME### ###LASTNAME##PHONE##EMAIL###
/div
!-- ###TEMPLATE_ADDRESS### end --

I want the firstname and the lastname to be wrapped in a link and
generate the url using a using a userFunc taking two arguments,
first_name and last_name.

*Example*
Input: arg1: Thomas, arg2: Müller
Output: a href=team/thomas-mueller/Thomas Müller/a

But I have no idea how I can tell TYPO3 to use my custom function to
generate that link. Is that even possible? Is this a bad idea?
All I could come up with is this so far is this, which prints out the
return string of my function at the end of the webpage.

includeLibs.test = fileadmin/user_link.php
temp.info = USER
temp.info {
  userFunc = user_link-main
  arg1 = Thomas
  arg2 = Müller
}
page = PAGE
page.50  temp.info

Thank you

[TYPO3-english] Cannot login to BE

2011-03-14 Thread Sune Brodersen
Hi,

I have just installed Typo3 on my server and in install tool everything
seemed to be OK. Right folders where writeable, im was installed, gd and
mysql was supported etc. I did the full upgrade wizard and database tables
are there and i created 2 admin users. All without issues.

But when i try to log into BE, the page gets timeout in PHP:

PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 130 seconds exceeded in
/usr/local/typo3_src-4.5.2/t3lib/class.t3lib_div.php on line 1689, referer:
http://xxx/typo3/

First i tried to change max_execution_time in php.ini (even though i think
30 sec should be enoguh for login) but it did not help. Sometomes the
timeout error comes in
usr/local/typo3_src-4.5.2/t3lib/formprotection/class.t3lib_formprotection_ab
stract.php

If i try to use wrong password i get the message that its the wrong
password, so it only times out when i use right password.

Right now im running on Typo3 4.5.1 but same issue with 4.5.2. Im running on
Apache/2.2.17 (Fedora) with PHP/5.3.5

If i look in Firebug i can see that a lot of files are loaded ok, f.x.
/typo3temp/compressor/ext-all-notheme-9d2fa21b4204122f137db65d15a5b569.css?1
300111257
/typo3temp/compressor/scriptaculous-e398ddb18e9e3e99c9bac081652b4b73.js
/typo3/index.php

But it hangs at /typo3/backend.php

Anyone has any ideas how to solve this?

 Plus one more reason to create your own coloring scheme then. :-) I know
 there's one for PSPad and Notepad++ so you can use it as a basis for the

[TYPO3-english] Howto let BE user localize a CE?

the user clicks on create a copy for translation then this new version
of the CE is put with the non-used elements. It won't appear on the page

Content that was localized by the admin is visible for the user.
Normally the user should have access to the content in all the installed

Of course I gave the BE user group access (permission) to the page.

[TYPO3-english] tt_address

2011-03-14 Thread Ronald Renfro
Hi,

after a doing a little of my homework aka google and friends, I thought maybe
someone here could point me in the right direction.

I would like to use tt_address with the group functionality. I need to display
all groups in a menu like structure (HMENU/TMENU) where the user can click on
the group link and is presented a list of associated addresses...

Is it possible build a typoscript HMENU based on tt_address groups with links
pointing to the plugin page?

The other idea I had would be to manually create the group pages put a plugin
on each page with the group selected... (unwieldy approach and not very editor
friendly)

Can someone share some knowledge on how to go forth with this?

Thanks

[TYPO3-english] CoolUri and tt_news categories

2011-03-14 Thread J . Schaller
Hello all,

when CoolUri is configured to replace the category in its path
part
   parametertx_ttnews[cat]/parameter
/part

it will use the category number as part of the path. Would it somehow
be possible to use the category name as path instead?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
J. Schaller

Nevermind,

part
   parametertx_ttnews[cat]/parameter
  lookindb
   toSELECT title FROM tt_news_cat WHERE uid=$1/to
   t3conv1/t3conv
  /lookindb
/part

works nicely.

[TYPO3-english] image content element, usability

2011-03-14 Thread Katja Lampela

Hi,

I think the image tab used to be easier to use when you had all the image
things in the same tab. Now in 4.5 some of the key image features (width,
alignment etc) are moved to Apperarance tab.

Another thing that I find is odd is that when there are multiple images and
each are linked, every link has to be on its own line AND still separated with
comma. IMHO the own line would be quite enough.

Opinions?
