indeed it's not true for the images, styles and html stuff :)

Take a look in the introductionpackage - it's not completly GPL
The images are under a creative common license if i remember right.

obviously there are somewhere the weekdays in one of the extensions. I
have the following in the newsslider

and the other in the ttnews detail / listview.

So the newsslider should find somewhere the translation for the
weekdays. By the way amharic is perfect in FE, BE and Database.


Really funny! I don't find any reference to Amharic in the supported 
locales for TYPO3. How did you manage to have a BE in Amharic? This is 
great but I don't know then why it's not officially supported.

No I have no backend in Amharic. My lanuage skills are not good enough 
to translate that. But all amharic input is working fine in the backend.


I am using Typo3 for years now, but I am no programmer. So it is 
difficult for me to find out where the programs get their translations. 
There is no amharic translation of the weekdays in the locallang files 
of the Newsslider and also not in the ttnews. I also didn't find 
anything like that in the static info tables. I am running out of ideas 
where these language files may be.


I could then provide some of the locallang with amharic translations.

OK, now I understand what you mean!

As long as your database is properly using UTF8 (and this is the case 
for you), you have absolutely no problem to store and display any 
character you want! That's why you can easily have texts written in 
Amharic and work on them in the BE.

I could then provide some of the locallang with amharic translations.


If you want to provide some of the locallang with amharic translations, 
you should do following:


1) choose Amharic as language to use:

config.language = am

Then start making sure it works by doing something like that for, e.g., 
tt_news:


plugin.tt_news._LOCAL_LANG.am {
latestHeader = ጡዋት
}

This should change the title Breaking News: by ጡዋት

latestHeader is just one of the key I found in 
typo3conf/ext/tt_news/pi/locallang.xml


You may create your own localization file for Amharic by reading one of 
my recent articles on that:

working. I will set up a new server and try if the news2 extension is 
already calling the local function from the server.

can be used in TYPO3 in the near future?!

Also people may translate them without modifying the extensions directly.

Hi Nicola,

I was experiencing the same issue when I recently started using
datamints_feuser. If I'm not mistaken, it was caused by missing/invalid
eMail parameters (like Sender Name and/or Sender E-Mail Address).

I've only set the following values in my registration form:

Default User Folder: My sysfolder that contains feuser records
Default User Groups: The user group for new accounts
Approval Check: Admin approval
[X] Send User E-Mail?
[X] Send Admin E-Mail?
Sender Name: My Company
Sender E-Mail Address: My eMail address
Admin Name: My Name
Admin E-Mail Address: My eMail address

No TypoScript or anything out of the ordinary.
I also haven't set a Redirect Site ID for Registration.

Maybe the Log shows some interesting errors?

During hide/unhide a page typo3 throws an error as ExtDirect Exception with the

As far as I know I am the only developer at the moment here in Ethiopia 
working with Typo3. Most of the websites here are developed either with 
Joomla or with Microsoft Share Point.


I could start however and be one of the language administrators for the 
beginning. But first I have to get that Website running. I am working in 
a company with the right knowledge to realize such a project. The 
question however is the time involvement.


Is there a list of core files which are essential to translate?

Cool add TASK for 4.6 or 4.7?

 The question is when a new language qualifies to being supported by
 TYPO3?

Support = 100% translation for a redakteur in TYPO3 BE and 100% support
in FE (not in all extensions), but for dates, etc.?

Other wise we can have two states:

1. prepared - it's possible to use a lang - but translation is incomplete

2. suppported - as supposed on top.

procedure describing how to do so.

We could add it to 4.6, it is not that tricky now that we use Pootle 
and we have refactored the localization code. In fact, that would be a 
perfect opportunity to clean up the procedure and make sure what we have 
left from the procedure for good old TYPO3 versions still makes sense.



The question is when a new language qualifies to being supported by
TYPO3?


Support = 100% translation for a redakteur in TYPO3 BE and 100% support
in FE (not in all extensions), but for dates, etc.?


I'd say supported when the main parts of the Backend are translated and 
when a team is actively managing it.



Other wise we can have two states:

1. prepared - it's possible to use a lang - but translation is incomplete


That's a point I thought about as well, currently we miss a way to tell 
TYPO3 to accept a new arbitrary Backend language.


First step would be to refine the procedure as described above and set 
up an account for Amharic on Pootle. Then make sure persons such as 
Herbert are able to use their language locally (I could take care of 
creating the patch, it will be really tiny with the refactoring).

Last point is providing a clever way of falling back for languages but 
fortunately, this is already part of TYPO3 4.6, it just has to be 
reviewed because the actual fallback mechanism was prepared but incomplete:

[TYPO3-english] Mobile Template for Framework for TemplaVoila

Hi Ron

we are currently working on a mobile solution for the framework for
templavoila. One question came up now:

Would it be possible to have different width specific settings for

website 992
tablet 768
mobile horizontal 480
mobile vertical 320

for those module and column elements.

Everything is flipping and working fine beside the fact as as soon you are
using i.e. 50/50 elements it resizes complete wrong.
33/33/33 is working perfect but 66/33 not as the 66 element does not get
resized to be a 33 element and the text should float to new lines.

Ok, I will try my best. I am now registered as a new user tamesol in 
typo3.org with my office mailaddress because my historia name which I 
though having registered years ago is not working or has another problem.


So I will send an email and ask to be registered with the new language

[TYPO3-english] ods_pm_ajax problem with prototype

Hello guys. Im using the ods_pm_ajax extension but for some reason it says
that $.style is not defined. Im guessing it doesnt load prototype (which is
weird, because powermail is installed). Does anybody know what could be the
reason?

I've found a snippet howto re-enable the subheader for tt_content table 
in be.


t3lib_extMgm::addToAllTCAtypes(tt_content, 'subheader;;8', '', 
'after:header');


After this, my subheader is positioned at the Extended Tab. Can I 
position this new field after the header? The syntax my snippet seems 
to be outdated.

One of the major issues I had (and still have) with the extension is
that it doesn't work correctly if you don't use a username field in
your registration form (my intention was to have the email be the
username). Additionally, the username can not be an email address right
now.

I've only set the following values in my registration form:

Default User Folder: My sysfolder that contains feuser records
Default User Groups: The user group for new accounts
Approval Check: Admin approval
[X] Send User E-Mail?
[X] Send Admin E-Mail?
Sender Name: My Company
Sender E-Mail Address: My eMail address
Admin Name: My Name
Admin E-Mail Address: My eMail address

No TypoScript or anything out of the ordinary.
I also haven't set a Redirect Site ID for Registration.

Maybe the Log shows some interesting errors?

datamints_feuser. If I'm not mistaken, it was caused by missing/invalid
eMail parameters (like Sender Name and/or Sender E-Mail Address).

typoscript as from the manual to use email as username.
I'll keep on testing it with different configurations and let you know what

Hi,

The git version of extdeveval has a command to regenerate the sprites,
so you probably have to do that to get your flags into the sprite.

Hi Kay

unfortunately it is not as easy as some stuff has been hardcoded into the
Module und Column FCEs i.e. the direction of floating which is causing
problems.

i.e. in Module 3 in the 3 Column Module the most right column is floating
right instead left and therefor the mobile is not able to show those modules
exact below each other.
Those floating rules are written in the XML CData Parts of the FCEs -
changing the right to left and everything works just fine concerning
modules. Columsn we will test tomorrow.

I read that Ron is working on a new version of his framework and hope that
he will put all CSS and Style Codes either into CSS using i.e. less or sass
or at least puts all floating rules into the mainstyles css. Otherwise it is
not easy on mobiles with one and only template for all purposes.

The question is when a new language qualifies to being supported by
TYPO3?


Support = 100% translation for a redakteur in TYPO3 BE and 100% support
in FE (not in all extensions), but for dates, etc.?

Other wise we can have two states:

1. prepared - it's possible to use a lang - but translation is incomplete

2. suppported - as supposed on top.


I was not in Core team when last language got added but this cannot be 
considered a feature anyway so when Amharic is considered worth its 
inclusion, we will create the according patches to add its definition 
in all supported TYPO3 versions.

[TYPO3-english] Required fields mark bug in Typo3 4.5.5

Hi.

I recently installed this version and I noted that the yellow
triangles of required fields are not displayed properly. Only one
triangle is displayed no matters how many required fields you have and
is displayed in places that it don't must be.

I don't know if already is a solution for this bug.
