Re: UV to Text Conversion Standard?
I use it all the time using our inhouse utilities and it works well. I do remember something strange in the totalling logic of sylk, something about being relative to the current row I believe. Rich Chuck Mongiovi wrote: The best way to importing multiline cells into Excel is to generate a HTML file that represents the spreadsheet cells as an HTML table. You can then import line breaks using the HTML br tag. It requires a few lines of code, but it is pretty trivial. Has anyone ever tried using the SYLK format? (FYI - if you've never heard of it, try www.wotsit.org and search for SYLK) -- Richard A. Re: Extracting data directly from dbf files...
I'm fairly certain that the cedarville download utility handles dbf files. Since it comes with source code perhaps you can change the write logic to read Rich Lee Messenger wrote: Has anyone developed any processes to natively read '.dbf' type files from within Universe basic? UV, printer error GetJob 123
A client has recently installed uv 10.? on an xp-pro workstation and is receiving the following error when LIST LPTR The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. GetJob failed with error 123. I've never seen their setup but it I believe they are using Novell for networking/print sharing I had them duplicate the default printer with UVDEFAULT as the printer name and the error continues thanks, Rich -- Richard A. Re: u2 maintenance agreements
actually there was no penalty due to the current amnesty program. There was something on u2ug.org website awhile ago Ron White wrote: I have just encountered the same problem. IBM never sent a maintenance invoice and then complained when I tried to access support. I think it is very bad business practice to not bill your customer and then charge a penalty for letting your maintenance lapse. Ron White - Original Message - From: Richard A. Just the other day I was attempting to access some webpages at ibm that required customer # etc and found out that our agreements were not current. This could have to do with not receiving an invoice in 2003. I'm not totally sure all of the vmark/ardent/informix records have totally migrated. I'm off now to confirm all clients received/paid for maintenance back in 2003 Rich -- Richard A. Re: u2 maintenance agreements
Wally, now I have a complaint g. Ibm keeps calling to resolve my maintenance renewal situation. 2 phone calls in 2 days. looks like I'll be back on track shortly. I hope others experience the same timely response. Rich P.S. Things do fall thru the cracks when you only submit a case number every couple of years. Wally Terhune wrote: Folks: We are constantly striving to improve the maintenance renewal process. We acknowledge that with the multiple buy-outs in a few short years, things got pretty out of whack. We are getting close. We've implemented a new database and are cleansing and recapturing all records and putting processes in place to address all of these issues. silly pc's. this new one requires passwords for telnet to work since this is my (repeat MY) pc I've never required passwords.
