Question of Orca upgrade with final 2.24 version in Hardy?
Dear List! Luke, you doed this repository with launchpad: http://ppa.launchpad.net/accessibility-dev/ubuntu hardy main When 2.24.0 GNOME and Orca coming out, possible replace Orca with this version official (stable version)? Why ask I this question? Hungarian blind users now using 2.22.3 GNOME and 2.22.3 Orca version, but 2.24.99-pre Orca version is lot of new features (better Firefox webbrowsing and better structural navigation, new tutorial messages function, better hungarian translations and bug fixes etc). Ok, know, user please upgrade Intrepid, but Hardy is a long term support distribution release, but not upgrade GNOME 2.22 to 2.24 because it is a drastical change the distribution? Or it is not true? How can doing upgrade all users with Orca version only (official repository same for you repository) but stable version? Or it is long and hard work, lot of mistakes, simplest upgrade with intrepid? could You try to think about making language selection menu more accessible?
Dear core developers of Ubuntu accessibility subsystems, I would like to please You, if your development team would be so kind and if You would try to think about making language accessibility menu during booting from A live CD more accessible. Could be very complex to make algorithm, which could enable visually impaired users to choose A specific language by pressing two first letter of a word, which describes A specific language? Visually impaired user can not determine, how many times he or she must press down arrow key to choose language. This choice is very remarkable aspecially when visually impaired user is using Orca and choice to perform A installation of Ubuntu from A boot menu. I Am aware, that if A boot image is written in Assembler language, You do not like to modifi this source code and You are also limited by a syze of boot image file. But if it would be possible, atleast try to think about my suggestion. Thank You very much for Your answer. The kindness regards. I have a question about the shut down menu
Hi, good job Luke. I do have one question though. I see the shut down screen doesn't seem to work, and I don't even see a menu with restart on it? Also I red something about a feature that was suppose to have been added to this menu where you can set up a guest account for temporary access. Does anyone know anything about this? Hi, is it possible to set Orca to speak in different voices for different programs? If it can be, how do you do this? Thanks Mike. X-Antivirus: avast!
