Ubuntu Mate huge bug

2021-04-01 Thread Vojtěch šmiro

Hello,

there is a huge bug in Ubuntu Mate 21.04. When my friend Libor logged
in, it said to him Ubuntu installer as superuser and nothing more. He
blindly clicked Try Ubuntu, but any sudo apps don't work. There are
problems with Caja or Gparted for example. Can someone repair it? Ubuntu
21.04 will be out early.

Thanks a lot and take care.

Best regards

Perhaps good news

Hello,

I've sent the link about Flutter to the Telegram Ubuntu czech and Slovak
list. One great man from Slovakia wrote to Flutter developers and they
tested it with Orca and it would be accessible. So I think, it perhaps
will work good.

Orca strange behavior in Ubuntu and RPi

2021-01-19 Thread Vojtěch šmiro

Hello,

I would like to inform you about some curious behavior of sound in
Ubuntu Mate 20.04 in Raspberry Pi 4B 4 GB and 2 GB.

If you don't like workarounds, this is not for you, (smile).

I and my friend Libor have to use external sound card if we wanted to
use Ubuntu. Libor found this curious behavior on Sunday. He allowed
internal sound card and restarted computer. The system loaded loudly and
sometimes volumed down a few percents, but not muted and Orca had sore
throat. Libor turned Orca off and played some music with VLC for minute
or two, better is two minutes in his 2 GB RPi. In my Raspberry Pi 4 GB
it didn't work, but he found, due I have many profiles in Orca, I have
to play music over four minutes. but at the end of the music, we turned
Orca on again and we can use it without Orca's sore throats. It's really
interresting. Why is this? During music play the sound is up, sometimes
down like if you have problems with your cassette. But now Ubuntu is
quicker and my RPi isn't so hot like with external sound card.

Orca bug with clicking capital letters by icon

2020-12-11 Thread Vojtěch šmiro

Hello,

I would like to write you about bug in Voxin and Orca, when is set
reading of Capital letters like icon on Voice page tab. Warning! this
bug is only in Raspberry Pi, not in PC. In PC there is not any problem
with Voxin.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Switch to Voxin.
2. Write in Pluma for example
Mozilla Firefox.
The result: it clicks twice in the word Mozilla and not in word Firefox.
Expected resuld: it may click in all two words Mozilla Firefox, not onli
in the word Mozilla.
I've tried with czech voices, I don't have any english voices, so I
don't know, if bug is with them too or with other languages.

The bug of clicking with Espeak:
1. Switch to Espeak-cs.
2. Write in Pluma
Od Libora
It means from Libor.
It clicks only in the word Od and in the word Libora not. This is on PC
and Raspberry too. In Voxin on PC the bug doesn't exist.
All bugs are in Ubuntu, Debian, Raspbian and Stormux, it's not depend on
used operating system.

I will send this to Ubuntu and Raspberry forum too to inform so many
people what is possible.

Be safe and take care.

Thanks a lot.

Sound question

Hello,

I have this question from my friend and flat mate Libor. He can't write
and speak english, but he can understand a bit. Now I will translate
there his question.

Thanks.

Best regards

Vojta.

Greetings,

I would like to ask somethink.

I have Raspbian which I've installed from console version. I can't
remember steps, my friend helped me and I couldn't write commands. I
didn't have phone with loud call. We rewrote some files, I don't know
which files and Orca speaks to Alsa. Other sounds run to Pulseaudio.
System sounds are in Alsa too, I found this, because when external sound
card is joined, pulse works in external sound card and Alsa works in
internal sound card.
My question: I would like to set Orca speak to Alsa in ubuntu. If it
will work, I musn't use external sound card.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards

Libor.

Hi,

yes it is possible, but you need to do 2 steps.

Edit the config.txt in the boot partition and add:

dtparam=audio=on
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
After that, you can boot, but you will need an assistance to set up
your account, or:

press enter 3 or 4 times.

Enter your full name,

tab twice and enter your user name

tab enter password

tab enter it again

press enter

after 10 secs press it again

and again

and again until Raspberry restarts.

After restart, you can login as usual by entering your password, the
system will use English language and English keyboard.

Warning, critical error with text sellection

2020-08-16 Thread Vojtěch šmiro

Hello,

the problem is in Arch, Stormux and in Fedora, where my friend Pavel

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Pluma or Gedit.
2. Write some text.
3. Select something by shift plus some arrow key. Pluma or Gedit crashes
so fast it cannot write log why it crashed. The problem is in Nano
editor too. It isn't in Libreoffice, Seamonkey or Firefox.

Problem wasn't on Debian 10 or Ubuntu 18 yet, but I would like to warn

did this critical error. My friend Pavel wanted to report it with log

Wine and MS Api in Ubuntu Mate 18.04

2018-09-04 Thread Vojtěch šmiro

Hello All.

I would like to play some portable games such as Crazy party in Ubuntu
Mate 18.04.

In Vinux, based on Ubuntu 14.04 I launched Winetricks, enabled silent
install, and installed Speech SDK 5.1 and it worked.

But in Ubuntu 18.04 is only Q4 wine, not Winetricks. Please, what hI
have to install to have Winetricks and Sapi?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards

Vojta.

Hello.

I think, Orca is not included in Kubuntu.

Daniel Crone napsal(a):

I ran a ubuntu dvd.
Using be my eyes, I had someone look at the screen.
I tried running orca just to know if it worked.
Orca did not start.
But maybe I used the wrong command.

Introduction and question

2018-08-28 Thread Vojtěch šmiro

Hello all.

My name is Vojtěch Šmiro and I am from the Czech Republic. I am using
Ubuntu systems since August 2015.

Now, I have strange problem on my older desktop. If I start to the
system, I cannot see disks, when I open computer. I must mount them wia
Gnome-disks. I am using Ubuntu Mate 18.04, Accessible coconut 16.04.27
based on Ubuntu 16.04, special system for blind people and Vinux 14.04
does it too. But only on my and my flatmate's desktop. I am afraid I
have some virus.

And in Gnome disks, button mount and other two buttons are unlabelled.

thanks.

Best regards

Vojta.
