I had understood ur point about the use of red, before that day i didnt
realize that,
Taking note of that, i thought that since it applied to the notify-osd
also apart from the panels icons, bringing it to the whole system would
make more sense. would make things more uniform[uniformity i think is
what is mainly not yet achieved in Ubuntu :( ]

and i dint think that red was the correct color for save!

on hind sight, i think i used ur name more to names drop :P

Well, first off, you need to take my comments in perspective. I said that using
red in a panel icon should mean something, not just be for the looks.

i think *kwwii* would strongly oppose the use of red!
he was very specific that red should not be used for anything other
than for icons to alert something not working.

thought the icon looks good, just to maintain consistency, u might want
to consider another color. :)

I really like it very much. I think it is one of the best icons as you
made

Thanks for the feedback.
I'll make another version based on your suggestions to see how it looks.

I had made some proposals in the light of the arrows above, but was not
accepted.

Think that the arrows should be consistent, and above all with correct
light or all with translucy efect.

green color it had reserved for other icon "save as". with some
modifications to the arrow.

The inspiration for red color comes from the gnome-colors and it works
very well.

For me weekends work best (job thing) and I am flexible on the time. I
suggested either the 20th or 21st so folks can plan to find a hour or so
to participate?

I am assuming two weeks out is Ok for you Ken. This would also provide
time to draft an agenda to ensure something doesn't get missed. For
those who are unavailable a transcript of the discussion will keep them
informed.

Re: [ubuntu-art] [Breathe] SymLink Creating Infrastructure

2009-06-06 Thread Andrew
Hi Guys,

At the moment we have a 'make_links.sh' file in the breathe-icon-set bzr branch
that creates the
symlinks for the various icons for us. However it relies on human input of
putting every single
symlink in there...

Using the icon-naming-utils program, I have creating a script that will create
the symlinks from an
already created database of icon that need symlinks, this simplifies things A
LOT. It also handles
the removing of symlinks, whoch is useful before a branch is 'bzr push'ed.

Will someone owning the trunk branch have a look at the manage_links.py file in
my branch:
https://code.launchpad.net/~rugby471/breathe-icon-set/andrew-improvements

And put it in the trunk branch?

Thanks!

[ubuntu-art] [BREATHE] Lighting in breathe actions icons!

2009-06-06 Thread mac_v
Hi,
>From what i have understood, the lighting for the icons are supposed to
be from the top , and the only exception was made for the folder icons
just to maintain continuity with the human icon folder, BUT why do *all*
the action icons have the light source from the bottom? i'v found that
all the action icons are lighter below and darker above!

Is this also a conscious design decision?

cheers,
mac_v

PS: @ *Daniel* : i saw the document save icon and didnt think that red
was the right color for save so , i edited the icon , not sure if this
is allowed, didnt mean to vandalize your icon but, since i didnt find
any mails regarding this new icon or your irc nic, i just did the edit
myself.
