So I added versions with stronger outlines, as a border shadow is no option because of perspective. I'm in awe of your 3D-Ubunutu-Logo version! This is genious! Overall, with that white background, I like the ones with the stronger outline more, it makes a better contrast, the others look a little bit blurred (on white background!). I guess it's because I'm mainly using KDE Crystal icons, which are using the same style. As for the width, the long ones are still ok with me! Just one question: the gears illustrate work and progress, right? I don't know why everybody uses gears to show this but IMO it a little bit strange and misleading at first sight. Can you try using some other symbol like hammer or smth connected with the process of creation and collaboration (scissors, paper, pencils ...). Thanks! The label for that icon is See. Since my attempts from a looking/eye angle didn't appeal, I switched to what-is-to-be-seen: ongoing work. A hammer wouldn't imply movement quite like gears do. Also, I want to avoid copying the Dell Ideastorm site even more ;) -- Thorsten Wilms thorwil's design for free software: http://thorwil.wordpress.com/ -- ubuntu-art mailing list ubuntu-art@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-art

Re: [ubuntu-art] some artwork for Ubuntu Brainstorm
These icons are interesting but lack a certain presence. Perhaps adding some contrast and adding a 40% to 60% gray blended border shadow would help?
