BTW, the company which wrote CUPS was bought by Apple a couple of years ago, so Mac & Linux now have a largely identical print system under the covers. So as a general rule, if you can't find a particular model listed in the openprinting.org database, buy printers that are billed as Mac-compatible. I know HP's low end laser printers sometimes aren't. Adobe Reader is available for 64-bit as the 'acroread' package from the Medibuntu[1] repository. Alternatively is there a way to get the x86 version of Adobe Reader to install and run on an x64 Jaunty? I tried to install the x86 deb but I get the wring architecture error and it will not install that way. I's still learning and trying to work out a way I can force install - if you have any ideas please let me know. Yes I should have mentioned I am using Jaunty x64, hence why Adobe Reader is not possible as it does not run in x64 ... I tried :) evince (or document viewer) works mostly but it does not copy test very well if you have multiple columns... so no good for what I need...
