[Bug 383742] Re: Please backport gnucash 2.2.9-0ubuntu1 from Karmic to Jaunty

2009-09-01 Thread Tommy Trussell

Confirmation: I just installed Gnucash from your PPA and (of course) it
installs and runs fine under Ubuntu 9.04.

I do not use either online banking or FQ so I have not tested those.

P.S.: I missed seeing this back in June. My sincerest apologies for not
seeing your message.

I saw (and responded to) your note on the GnuCash-Users email list. I
think it might be best to put clarifying links, etc. in this bug request
since it's specific to Ubuntu, and maybe we can get it sorted out here.

Just to be clear... hcbi is an online banking protocol used by residents
of Germany.

Is this what you are looking for? If you are looking for making online
banking downloads for another country, you might want to check the
information at http://www.gnucash.org/ and on the gnucash-users mailing
list.

[Bug 221208] Re: Backport GnuCash 2.2.4 from Hardy

2008-04-28 Thread Tommy Trussell
a note to anyone following the status of this bug -- GnuCash 2.2.5 was
released today (more bug fixes, especially in the QIF importer and to at
least one report). As soon as the Debian package gets updated, it can go
into Hardy+1, and we can request a backport to Hardy. If there's a need,
I suspect a backport to Gutsy should be fairly painless.

[Bug 221208] [NEW] Backport GnuCash 2.2.4 from Hardy

2008-04-23 Thread Tommy Trussell
Public bug reported:

GnuCash 2.2.4 apparently fixes some important bugs, so it would be good
to have it in Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy backports. I'm attempting to build using
prevu now (but getting network errors ... gee, are the servers getting
hit hard? Is Hardy about to be released??)

I will update this bug when / if I get a successful build.

[Bug 210292] Re: Please Backport Hardy Heron to Gutsy

2008-04-01 Thread Tommy Trussell
we should take it farther -- we should backport Hardy Heron all the way
to Dapper Drake, then I can run the latest 8.04 software on my oldworld
power macintosh.

The next challenge will be to backport Ubuntu to run on a computer from
the 1980s, like a Texas Instruments 99/4a or a Commodore 64.

[Bug 151358] Backport GnuCash-Docs 2.2.x to Feisty

2007-10-10 Thread Tommy Trussell
Public bug reported:

As discussed in Bug #148306 (backport Gnucash 2.2.1), the most recent
version of gnucash-docs has made it through the UVFe process and is now
in Gutsy ( Bug #148548 ).

I built gnucash-docs 2.2.0-1 in Feisty using prevu and there are no
notable errors in building, installing, and "running" (opening) the help
files using GnuCash 2.2.1-1ubuntu4.

Thank you for all the work!

They're whatever was in Gutsy that day... the .deb files generated were

gnucash_2.2.1-1ubuntu1~7.04prevu1_i386.deb
gnucash-common_2.2.1-1ubuntu1~7.04prevu1_all.deb

AH I see the Gutsy package is now 2.2.1-1ubuntu4, so I'll run prevu
again.

[Bug 148306] Re: Backport GnuCash 2.2.1

2007-10-04 Thread Tommy Trussell
I removed gnucash and used "apt-get autoremove" to remove all the
dependent packages, then when I started gdebi, it told me the package
was available in the channel (I have the prevu cache in my
sources.list). I don't know why it wouldn't show up yesterday, but today
Synaptic installed it fine. So the new GnuCash package builds, installs,
and runs fine (I used it all day yesterday with no notable problems).

The only pending issue with this version is that gnucash-docs is out of
sync (another bug has been opened regarding that issue).

[Bug 148306] Re: Backport GnuCash 2.2.1

2007-10-02 Thread Tommy Trussell
It builds fine under Feisty, but it didn't show up as an available
version, so I used dpkg -i to install them and got this:

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of gnucash:
 gnucash depends on libgoffice-0-3 (>= 0.3.7) | libgoffice-gtk-0-3 (>= 0.3.7);
however:
  Package libgoffice-0-3 is not installed.
  Package libgoffice-gtk-0-3 is not installed.

SO I manually installed libgoffice-0-3 and libgoffice-gtk-0-3 (feisty
versions) and gnucash finished installing properly.

Packaging issue?

SO GnuCash 2.2.1 builds, installs (with minor effort) and runs under
feisty prevu.

I recognize this package was rejected for Dapper Backports. However,
because the Edgy GnuCash 2.0.1 package has been mentioned in the
