Re: firefox 1.5
Hello. ulrich steffens: i'm not that much of a 'break my ubuntu' guy, so maybe I'll just stick with a vmware-ubuntu and experiment a bit. You can always fetch the official Mozilla binary and install that in /opt, /home/ulrich/bin or whereever you please. IMHO it's much saner than using Firefox through VMware. :o) fortunately there was a german computermagazine which had a 1 year license for vmware featured on one of the attached cds. Care to share which magazine and which issue...? :o) Cheers, -- Shot -- A 'lame' server is a server that is SUPPOSED to be authoritative, but, when asked, says: 'Me? I'm not waiting 5 months for you to get your act together. Besides if I install it as a local user I'll be able to the new built-in patching/updating system. On a somewhat related note: I wonder who the heck is supposed to use that anyway? Linux, Windows Mac all don't let an ordinary user update software anyway. To many changes will lead to massive work and personally I wouldn't want that risk of possible breakage on anyone. I also heard theres a lot of new libs and all so thats a potential no no. I'll cross my fingers and hope Mozilla releases Firefox 1.5.01 soon. -- Scott www.angrykeyboarder.com © 2005 angrykeyboarder Elmer Fudd.
