Welcome! HP/UX is much alike linux in some ways (e.g. both are more or less POSIX compliant), so some of your experience should be useful on Ubuntu too. Also, your experience with _commercial_ UNIXes and commercial UNIX clients seems useful to me. If you want to do translations, please contact the locoteam of your native language (ubuntu-nl, ubuntu-fr, ubuntu-de). -- Jan Claeys -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:ubuntu-be@lists.ubuntu.com You can find list info and your subscription configuration options at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be

Hi all, I recently subscribed to the ubuntu-be mailing list and requested to join the Belgian Ubuntu team. I'm currently working at HP in the UNIX outsourcing department, so I don't have much experience with linux (only HP/UX), nor with the development of applications. However, I'm interested to join the Belgian team because I like the mission of the Ubuntu community very much, and maybe I can be of any help in areas where technical experience is not really a prerequisite (e.g. translation of documentation).
