cdrkit is an extremely outdated software. It offers a development state from September 2004 with additional bugs added by the cdrkit team. The software did get major enhancements and bug fixes since then, but this has been completely ignored by Ubuntu. As Ubuntu does not offer recent legal software in official packages, there are several private efforts to create up to date cdrtools packages. [Bug 650539] Re: Launching QT apps such as SpeedCrunch, keepassX, Lucky Backup, Pencil, Stellarium, skype chrashes Xsever
Jonathan, I don't think this is an issue with the Nvidia Drivers. Their current, their beta and their five prior versions of the Nvidia Drivers work well and without this issue on 10.04, 9.10 and 9.04 Also, according to the changelog of the Xinerama packages nothing changed between 10.04 and 10.10. (Xinerama is deprecated so not much work is going on there.) So it must be an issue with QT since alot changed in the QT packages from 10.04 to 10.10. [Bug 403541] Re: Should use GtkBuilder rather than libglade
Jonathan, it means that it would be nice to convert the current libglade-formatted files into gtkbuilder-formatted files. Gtk added support for such files in 2.12, deprecating the need for libglade. So we'd like to clean up users of libglade to drop a dependency. [Bug 330351] Re: mail-notification widget hangs in KDE4 taskbar
Just as a sidenote: The problem is caused by the function to hide the tray icon when the counter is 0. So there is one workaround that is quite hidden: You can let mail-notification show the icon even when the counter is 0. To do so, install gconf-editor Go to desktop - apps - mail-notification and there check the function always-display-icon. The freezes are gone then, but you have to live with an additional icon that eats up tray space even when there is nothing to show. -- mail-notification widget hangs in KDE4 taskbar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330351 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 655200] [NEW] Radeon driver + DVI + Syncmaster 2232bw = blank screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Hello, Summary Using ATI radeon driver leads to a blank screen when my screen is connected with DVI. RadeonHD driver used to work perfectly until I switch to Ubuntu 10.10 where it is no more supported. Configuration --- % lspci 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV610 video device [Radeon HD 2400 PRO] ... It's a card with a VGA and a DVI output. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2232bw. Its native resolution is 1680x1050 Details -- I just switch to 10.10 and discovered that the radeonhd driver is no more supported. Problem: the radeon (or ati, as it's the same) driver does not work well for me: - if I use the DVI output, I just get a blank screen - with the VGA output, I get a really *really* bad image, difficult to describe: its blurred, or with kinds of waves, as if there was a lot of interferences. It's almost not usable at 1680x1050, better at lower resolutions Changing from KMS with radeon.modeset=0 has no consequence. Trying to not use EDID information (Option IgnoreEDID true) leads to same result. Fglrx does not work either, at 1680x1050 I get a flashing image (screen goes blank every 2 seconds or so), and at lower resolution the screen is flashing (but less frequently) Vesa driver works perfectly, both on VGA and DVI, but I can not use 1680x1050 with them, only 1280x1024 (what is expected with vesa driver). It uses to work perfectly at 1680x1050 with radeonhd driver. If I switch my screen for my TV (connected in DVI) with the radeon driver, I get an image in full HD. So, it seems that there is something wrong with either my card, the screen, or the combination of the two. But for now, with Ubuntu 10.10, I have no solution to have a clean display at my screen native resolution. Assuming that you continue to see this issue now that you have upgrade apache to 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.2 you can install the correct version of the -dbgsym package by running the following command: sudo apt-get install apache2.2-bin-dbgsym=2.2.14-5ubuntu8.2 This will ensure that the version of -dbgsym matches the installed binaries. [Bug 617885] Re: gparted crash at start: glibmm-ERROR **
Thank you Luca and Seth for clarifying the problem for me. If I understand this correctly, one of the best ways to avoid this problem is to not use Glib::ustring when reading data directly from the disk. Luca, I will investigate removing the Glib::ustring stuff from the GParted_Core::get_filesystem() method to avoid this potential problem for other file system types. Seth, I was about to apply the patch from comment #12 but noticed there might be an undesired side effect. It appears to me that if a match is found for the BTRFS_SIGNATURE, then the method will exit returning FS_BTRFS, but that the following line to close the device will not be executed. Have I interpreted the patch code correctly? If so, would you like to rework the patch to permit closing of the device? If not, I can rework the patch. I would still give credit to you though since you found the underlying problem. :-) -- gparted crash at start: glibmm-ERROR ** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/617885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
