Re: Brasero problem
I can confirm this. The problem, has been around for some releases, as far as I remember and there have been some bug reports concerning the problem. Have a look at some launchpad bugs: 780117: this is a bug currently being worked on 788300: marked as a duplicate of 780177 905047: which, up to now, has not been marked as a duplicate and confirms my recollection of the bug being around for some time now Furthermore connected to this problems are bugs like: 519935 (which do not make Brasero unusable, but really restrict the overall experience of using it). If I remember correctly you can set the burning speed to something beneath the maximum of your CD/DVD burner and you should avoid to burn CDs/DVDs directly (instead always create an ISO image). I think, by the way, that this mail belongs definitively on this mailing list. If Canonical/the Ubuntu community wants Ubuntu to succeed on the desktop problems like these cannot and must not be around for such a long time. These problems really restricts (or better destroy) the user experience and are some kind of bad PR for the Ubuntu quality. @the-desktop-team: By the way, if you want to avoid bad user experience in Germany have a look at launchpad bug 987212. (Certainly this is a very egoistic remark as I am affected by this bug ;) ). The bug is, admittedly of a total different nature and has nothing to do with Brasero, but I think it could potentially affect a very large number of the Ubuntu users in Germany (namely those who use the standard issue German Telekom Speedport Router). On 2012-06-16 19:42, Francesco Fumanti wrote: Assuming, we modify a translation in a po file of Onboard in the source code repository, and somebody else changes a translation in the translation interface of Launchpad. How do I know, that the import triggered by our change in the source code repository does not overwrite the change in the translation interface, or that the export triggered by the change in the translation interface of launchpad does not overwrite our change in the source code repository? Does the import and export take such concurrent changes into account or does it blindly overwrite the one or the other? Disclaimer: it's been a while since I did any serious work on this, so I may get some things wrong. And it's complicated, so there's always things that can go wrong. That said, it seems to work out pretty well in practice. Here's what I think happens: The daily automatic export job will notice that there are concurrent changes, and just skip the export for that day. This doesn't quite cover all possible conflicts, but that's where the importer's conflict resolution comes in. If you take a PO file that was exported from Launchpad Translations, edit it offline, and then re-upload it, there will be a timestamp in the header saying when it was exported from Launchpad. If the importer sees that one of the translations has already changed in Launchpad since the file was exported, it will downgrade the file's translation of that message to a suggestion. Re: [Ubuntu-BR] Nvidia Geforce 7025 onboard e Ubuntu 12.04
As outras saiam desalinhadas. Usando o Windo$ e M$Wor$ sai tudo bonitinho.
-- Serge Matveenko se...@matveenko.ru http://www.ohloh.net/accounts/lig http://ru.linkedin.com/in/sergematveenko -- ubuntu-ru mailing list ubuntu-ru@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-ru

[Bug 1018285] [NEW] Redirects incorrectly set Location header in response when Host header is set in request
Public bug reported: When Apache sends a 301 redirect and the Host header in the request has an implicit port, it incorrectly uses the Host header of the request and the port that Apache is running on to set the Location header. Steps to reproduce: * Get Apache to serve up a directory with a sub-directory blah on a particular port, say, 8080. * Access the URL http://localhost:8080/blah; (note no trailing slash) with the Host header Host: example.com. * Note that the Location header in the response is Location: http://example.com:8080/blah/; rather than Location http://example.com/blah/; as it should be. Expected behaviour: * A location header that uses the Host header only, rather than combining the Host header and the port Apache is running on. If the Host header has a port explicitly set, Apache behaves correctly e.g. if the Host header is Host: example.com:8090, then the Location header in the response is Location: http://example.com:8090/blah/;. $ apt-cache policy apache2 apache2: Installed: 2.2.22-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.2.22-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.2.22-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release:12.04 ** Affects: apache2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1018285 Title: Redirects incorrectly set Location header in response when Host header is set in request To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1018285/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 992578] Re: vsftpd error 530 after upgrade from oneiric to precise
removing /etc/pam.d/vsftpd worked for me also, but that makes the whole supports pam authentication totally meaningless, since you can't actually configure anything for vsftpd :-) Could this be regression or something similar to this old bug from redhat? (Comment 24 mentioning some kind of pam module stack memory overflow thing..) https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=708657#c24 Reasoning: removing /etc/pam.d/vsftpd means actually that pam just uses the default other authentication, which in effect only includes the common-* things, which in turn is almost the same what the original vsftpd-file does. But looking with strace shows that for some reason vsftpd opens the /etc/pam.d/other file even when /etc/pam.d/vsftpd is in place? Don't know if it is supposed to do that or not, just an observation. In the end it seems that removing vsftpd-file results in vsftpd opening less pam-files and that could incidate that this is related to some kind of memory limit barrier..? ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #708657 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=708657 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vsftpd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992578 Title: vsftpd error 530 after upgrade from oneiric to precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vsftpd/+bug/992578/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1018285] Re: Redirects incorrectly set Location header in response when Host header is set in request
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Is this really a bug, or a new feature in a future Apache version? Traditionally, Apache used to issue redirects based on its own knowledge of its own name (and presumably port), rather than using the Host header, didn't it? If that's the case, then surely Apache should ignore the Host header entirely, rather than using the hostname from the Host header, and the port Apache is running on? The fact that it works correctly when the port is explicitly set in the Host header makes me pretty sure this is a bug -- when the port in the Host header isn't explicitly set, it should mean there's an implicit port i.e. port 80 for HTTP, so the behaviour should be consistent whether the port is explicit or implicit in the Host header. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1018285 Title: Redirects incorrectly set Location header in response when Host header is set in request To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1018285/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1018285] Re: Redirects incorrectly set Location header in response when Host header is set in request
Apache has to use the Host header to match a virtual entry. But you may well be right - I'm no authority on this. I think that to progress with triage of this bug, we need to determine if the latest 2.2 upstream is affected. If it is not, then a backported fix may be justified, so the next step would be to identify the upstream 2.2 series commit that fixed this issue. If the latest 2.2 upstream is not affected, then upstream would be the appropriate place to seek guidance from, perhaps by filing a bug there.
Marking as Incomplete for now, since to verify if the bug is valid, I think we need confirmation from upstream - either that their latest 2.2 release built from source does not have the problem, or in the form of a commit in the 2.2 series where they fixed it, or in their acceptance of a bug, or some other form of confirmation. I don't think it's appropriate to seek a fix solely for Ubuntu otherwise. If the situation changes, please comment and change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: apache2 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1018285 Title: Redirects incorrectly set Location header in response when Host header is set in request To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1018285/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 997978] Re: KVM images lose connectivity with bridged network
@Georg, have you found any more about the relation to acpi? @Stephane, in your case it would certainly seem to be a bug in either the guest kernel or the virtual nic driver, as with the original bug submitter. Can you try switching to a different virtual nic type, i.e. model type='ne2k_pci' Also if it is possible for you to run a test on a quantal host, which has a much newer qemu-kvm, that would be interesting. Can you tell me in numbers how heavy traffic needs to be before the VM drops out? Is it traffic to the VM which freezes that VM, or does any traffic to the host or any VM threaten to freeze any VM. @Christian, several people have piped in on this bug. I'm not certain about yours, but this bug in particular is in qemu itself (or perhaps, though unlikely, the kernel). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bridge-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/997978 Title: KVM images lose connectivity with bridged network To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bridge-utils/+bug/997978/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
